sounds like there was a dispute at the time this song came out as to feel and the original chord changes. Thank God James Cleveland and Voices of Cornerstone at least did a decent re-write lol
Love this song by Donald Vails, he was one of the best gospel singers in the business. Carol Cole is a blessing today, by keeping the spirit of Gospel music alive and well in the City of Detroit!
Lord this brings back so many good memories and I can't help but have a few tears in my eyes, it reminds me of my cousin that use to lead this back in the day and all those from my former choir that have gone on to glory. Thx for posting it is a blessing Bless the Lord.....
It is so good to hear these songs by the voices, I am a member of the Voices and these were some of the best days of my life. thanks, I'm looking forward to our new CD as One Voice latter this year
Yeah! If I'm not mistaken, an early (perhaps the original) version of "Praying Spirit" was recorded at a COGIC UNAC 5 Convention...by Twinkie and The Clark Sisters out front. I might have that album somewhere. Pray that I can find it. LOL
Reverend James Cleveland had also recorded this with his Church Choir in Los Angeles. But I like Donald Vails version the best. Carol Cole really sang this song.
Well if you loved his music, We Just did a Recording in his memory last September 2008. and it should be available this year 2009 in the summer. we are now known as Carol Cole & One Voice, and produced by Pastor Rudolph Stanfield, It was An Awesome Service.
Good ol' days

I love this song, but I prefer the UNAC version with Linda Pawlovich doing the lead.
wjiharris 2 years ago
I must agree with you 100%+ Linda Pawlovich sung that song with conviction and with the anointing.

Second that...this arrangement slows it down too much...like the runs with the bass..though...
