@the4noobz metallica did not create the genre! 12 year old emos say that! thrash wasn't just suddenly created by a certain band or certain time. it just came when bands such as venom or the bands in bay area started playing faster heavier and louder and they TOGETHER created it as they influenced each other. metallica was PART of it but didn't create thrash themselves. and the term "thrash metal" came out in late 80s. before it was just metal.
