  • Im new in the swing jazz but im lovin it very much can anyone recommend me some nice bands?

if they are instrumental better but i like the vocal one too =)

  • Check out the album "Ella and Louis sing Gershwin" by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and the Russel Garcia orchestra. Most swingin' vocal jazz I know.

  • thanks (:D)

  • or Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the Atomic Fireballs, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Cherry Poppin Daddies, Paul Anka or if you like the old school go for louis armstrong, count basie, duke ellington or of course glenn miller.

  • at 38 it looks like Harold Lloyd's final apperance. And i tend to dress like this to; either in cuffed jeans with a motorcycle jacket, or old styled suits acompanied by a fedora or Homburg.

  • great song dudes....

  • man i love psychobilly and rockobilly chicks.

  • Don't we all man

  • i wish men still dressed like this...*sigh*

  • Men still dress like this. You probably just don't know any. I dress like that. I own patent leather shoes. I own suits, etc.

  • yes but is very rare, you hardly ever see guys on the street wearing sweet rockabilly gear. If you do its like catching a glimpse of a rare bird, get out the binoculars!! haha...when i do see these lads i greatly appreciate it!

  • Just gotta get out and find em lol

  • indeed! Thats the plan! heh

  • Good luck with that one :)

  • why thank u!

  • Very welcome lovely lady

  • I also first heard it from Ella Fitzgerald. I'm pretty sure Sinatra had a version too. And probably everybody else too.

  • Something's Gotta Give - words and music by Johnny Mercer in 1954 and published in 1955. It was written for and first performed by Fred Astaire in the musical film Daddy Long Legs (1955).

The biggest-selling version was recorded by The McGuire Sisters, reaching #5 on the Billboard chart in 1955 . Sammy Davis, Jr. had a popular competing version out the same year which also made the Top 10 on the Billboard chart, peaking at #9. The following year Mel Tormé released a version.

  • Great summing up! But don't forget that Sinatra did a great job of this in his Reprise years.

RCR was and is the best band out of the whole neoswing scene. Glad to see they're still around doing their thing.

  • 我喜欢她

  • This is a cover of a Sammy Davis Jr. standard. I don't know who actually wrote it.
