Death Angel is a thrash band, just like all of the old 80s thrash bands they did cross a few lines. The structure of the song may be similar to Doom Metal, but Death Angel is not Doom Metal just like Metallica isn't a Bluesy Hard Rock band regardless of what the albums Load and ReLoad lead us to believe.
@novashaven91 just because a band or even an album is primarily dominated by a sound doesn't mean an individual track can't be outside of it. Just take "The Thing That Should Not Be" from Master of Puppets.... obviously a "Thrash" take on Doom Metal. I feel this track is much the same. Though I do agree it has some Grunge influence too.
In my opinion, this is a step away from their usual stuff. Thus song doesn't qualify under thrash metal. No no no. The tempo and the agony-inspiring vocals are the opposite. This song definitely falls under doom metal.
