Nyawu, who the fuck is that idiot who wrote that crap? He can try his combo on me, i punish him so badly that he will think twice to EVEN press a button.
Even if you don't block the first few hits, you can STILL easily escape with many methods.
For example, you got hit by one of yoshi's 10-strings that knocks you backwards and then he does the spinning windmill with his sword. You'd think that you'll have to eat the unblockable windmill sword, but all you have to do is just push down and punch, and you would stop him cold.
thanks man u made my day a whole lot better :) ok i'm gonna share somethin i know which u probably know already. if u use bryan fury to counter steve's punches, steve can sway right out of the punch n hit him in the face!! its like counter-counter if u know wat i mean. but i only think it only works between steve n bryan though. anyway thanks a million!!
Isn't that only if the punch was a left punch? Though they may of let Steve do it out of his right punches after the punch parry in the newer versions of tekken.
ok i dun really get wat u mean. but i think u mean steve can only sway away if steve's left punch was countered?? so if his right punch was countered he cant do anything??
I think that's the case yeah, or the right punch he can't sway back fast enough (I forgot which) Like I said though, they may of changed it in the newer versions of tekken so go check T5:Dark Resurrection or T6 (if you live near an arcade that has one).
I don't remember much about Tag, but now in the newer Tekkens there's a bunch of new parries in stuff. Kazuya's F+2 punch parries, Steve has one, Anna's FC F+2 does so too I think, Law has his command parry into dragon stance, Lei always had his parry from entering drunk stance, etc.
Another example: Getting hit by King-s many 10-strings in the beginning doesn't mean you have to eat the rest of the hits. You can either hold block at the approate levels, or you can even low parry/poke/reversal, etc.
10-strings are NOT true combos. Just mearly a series of hits that does not garentee the entire 10-hits. So unless you pretty much held forward until you got hit, then let go of your controller, 10-strings can be easily stopped, thus not practical in a real match.
"Tekken has always been a simple, basic fighting game that doesn't take a ton of skill. It's mainly about reflexes and memorizing the best 10-hit combos for your favorite characters. Perfect for quick, on-the-go fighting but not so great for gamers looking for more depth. There's no way to escape a 10-hit combo, no insane moves or special techniques like you'd find in Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, or Virtua Fighter games."
I believe it is a lot more diverse than you think. And there are many ways to escape a 10 hit combo a.k.a. a Counter Reversal. And don't believe that Tekken's life is based on 10 hit combos. There are many more variations of attack, defence, and counterattack. The trick is to know what to do in the given situation.

OMG! I used to love good ole Cotton-Eyed Joe back in the late 90s - used to crack me up as a kid, and still does! Good one!
BTW, this is a pretty useful vid. Wish I knew about it when I was still a noob in the Tekken world...

Great Vid.
I'm tired of all those Prejudices about the Tekken combo system. The Gameplay is much more flexible.

Tap down+forward the moment the low hit is about to hit you.
Note that there are some hits you can't parry in general (headbutts, some knees and elbows, etc).

... I'm aware of that. This video just demos how to stop pretty much most 10-strings and be able to follow up with launch into juggles.
And sides, reversals can be chickened out of, where as low-parry is pretty powerful considering in newer tekken games you can get 50%+ off of one.

i have it for the psp version, gonna check it now, its so much fun to low parry, thanks again :)
