  • gosh this woman has found the fountain of youth Praise the Lord !

  • Notice how this interview doesn't reveal her real age. I've heard it said she was born in 1922 and 1924. According to her autobiography book published in 1975 and her A&E biography in 1998 she was born April 3, 1924. I'm not sure how old she really is. She's either 88 or 86. Who knows??

  • I am putting these six segments of a birthday broadcast last year for Doris Day on my facebook because it is amazing. This woman has survived so much and even lost her only son and child a few years ago. During tough times, it is good to recall that even those who seem to have had it all must lose what is most important and nothing can ease that.

  • She was 87 years old here!!!? So incredible, sounds so young, when she talks..!

  • can anyone tell me how i listen to her 2010 birthday interview? it's usually on youtube but can't find it. :(

  • She's a marvel. Regrettably they broke the mold when they made her. She is so beautiful, inside and out. I have such respect for her work for animal welfare. Even on her 87th birthday she has the loveliest voice and cutest laugh that I've ever heard. God Bless.

  • I think Doris is a very conflicted personality. I think she's sincere, but processes information in a different way She acts like the girl next door on the phone, but at the same time wants complete privacy and segregation from her fans.

She reminds of Bing Crosby- conflicted, not good at handling compliments, but seemingly affable and sincere. Like Crosby, not many people KNOW her. Dick Van Dyke is the same way..

  • waiting for her interview for this year

  • I'm so glad Ms Day is still sharing her life and experience with the world. She's such a jem! I love her movies, music and work! Thanks Doris! We love you!

  • Thank you Ms. Day for sharing your incredible talent with us all these years.

  • her voice is amazing...this woman just does not age (or at least it`s not apparent ) sounds just as fresh as ever !

  • Doris Day just never changes...that is so wonderful to know, and wonderful that her wonderful spirit is still around.

  • what a wonderful lady ...... she sounds so genuine and has such a beautiful persona..

  • Hi, there are 5 more parts to this interview adding up to almost an hour. Look under "more infos" on the right of this clip or in my channel. Enjoy. ;-)

  • Great to hear her again. A true legend!! Thanks for posting this is great!!

  • Please give Doris an Oscar, she is a role model and an inspiration to us all. What a lovely lady she is up there with Charlie Chaplin in my opinion. I could watch her movies over and over again , they remind me of when I was a little girl, I used to sing along to her songs with my mum. Very special moments.XXX

  • They have tried to give her one, she doesn't like to travel. She really does answer her snail mail she signed some things for me and wow nicest person ever.

  • God Bless Doris Day!

Most enjoyable interview! Thanks for posting!

  • Doris is unique....she is talking beautifully. What a grand lady! I love you Doris! Hugs from Germany!

  • i love her

  • she sounds the same as always. actually she sounds less horse than she has other years. Sounds great!

  • Exactly. Isn't it a shame and a disgrace what the media is doing at the moment? They should rather really listen to this great talk of hers...

  • i wish the academy would give her that honorary oscar....she surely deserves one. can you imagine the oscar show with her!?

  • I'm sure they have tried. I read that societies are always trying to give her lifetime achievement awards, but she refuses.

  • Have always loved Doris Day, and it's great to hear her call-in. She's given so much joy to millions of people ! I wish her the very best always.

  • I don't recall that part, sorry.

  • Sure, this year she turned 85, but that makes it obvious - The documentary was aired before her birthday already, so it must have been last year's call/visit to the radio station. ;-)

  • The interview bits from the documentary you are talking about are from last year's birthday call, not this year's. You can also find that (or better: both of them) here on YT.

  • I am so glad you posted this, it is so amazing! I love Doris Day, and hearing her voice is so cool, she is an amazing person.

  • fascinating!!!!!! what a sweetie!

  • Thank you for posting!

    Isn't she just wonderful?

  • Isn't it funny, she didn't remember some parts of her succesful career. She doesn't "hang" on her work and she's so simple and surprised, that all those people love her and know more about all what she's done. Amazing lady! Nada

  • Yes,but if you listen to the evolution of that chat - which I heard Live,it's Ed the Dj who is not paying attention.Doris is talking about her sitcom where Tony Bennett appeared - in 1971.Ed suddenly jumps back to her radio show in 1952,where Gordon Mccare made an appearance, and then back to the movie Tea for Two.He confused himself - no wonder Doris couldn't follow his rambling. And he will be even more doddery IF he makes it to 75,let alone 85 :)

  • To give Ed credit: He talks about the song Tea for Two she sang with Gordon MacRae on the radio show. It was Doris who assumed he meant the movie. But who can blame her for not knowing everything anymore she has done in her career? (Though I'm very sure she would have remembered her radio shows if Ed had only told her what he was talking about. ;-) )

  • It's clear that Ed has been a legend in HIS time, but I think he might be past his best.Yes it's fine for Doris to forget, since she made 800 recordings - not including the dozens of Radio show bits.Ed was very vague - indeed not mentioning it was Radio, and just spouting titles while referring to "Love to be with you" only in passing - but calling it "your day show".That means nothing to her, neither did his mumbling about her "bits". I LOVE their chat, but he forgets there's a listening audience

  • Exactly...i was thinking the same thing. She was talking about her TV show in the 70's & he confused her into thinking he was talking about a TV show in 1952. He had me confused. That was weird.

  • Dear Madame Sunshine...you are one amazing lady...what a joy to hear your lovely voice and hear the remembrances of your iconic and talented career...LONG LIVE DORIS DAY! Hugs and love, Barry Barsamian

  • Wonderful video; terrific to hear this lovely, lovely lady again and I wish her nothing but the best! She has to know that the world still loves her and will always be grateful to her for not only that amazing career but simply the woman she is!

  • Hi Marion. That was quick!

  • ;-)

The rest is coming, please bear with me
