@overlex because it comes naturally to him? you might play with your left hand belowe but you play like that because you have seen how others play guitar and you adapt to that. he hasnt seen how others play and has adapted to his own style
maybe being blind made playing guitar on his lap easy and somewhere along the line he might have switch to normal but kept the over the neck style cuz thats wut he memorized the feel of...
I'm blind also and trying to learn the guitar, this guy is seriously something...
I also wondered about the callouses but I think it's a matter of letting our fingertips get used to both uses. Either way, the world is gettting less and less dependent on braille nowadays. So much computer speech tools and Sat Navs etc :)
The first guitarist I've come across who is proficient with the overhand technique and also someone who is not just simply showing off. That really seems to be his main playing style.
awesome \m/

I wonder why can't he play with his left hand below the bridge, instead of above. I don't think being blind has anything to do with that, does it?
overlex 2 years ago
maybe he just wants to have an own style in playing? ^^

i believe thats beccause he is using his pinky finger (left hand) to mute the unwanted strings.

how can you be blind and reply a comment on youtube?
thenagoyaguy 3 years ago
That's similar to asking how can a blind person learn a guitar?
Easy, I have specialised software and equipment to help me. Like Hiroaka has had all his touch and hard work put into learning the guitar.
I'm also a Web Designer and a Web Hosting Provider. :) I work and live online matey :)
