Those flats that were completed in 1935 were absolutely state of the arts back then. You can see why living in the would have been so desirable - rather than the two-up-two-down terraces
nice...my grandparents immigrated from Finland via Hull to Liverpool and then Dominion Line ship S.S. Commonwealth, 1901 and 1902...so it was nice to get a glimpse of this city from that time!!
Well at least sitcoms from across the Altantic are British enough... Afterward it gets pretty dull, though loves the images of Irish immigrants. The apostrophe succeeding 1930s is a great example of how well true english grammar has been drilled into your numskull - naturally you used the sound of the 1930s in the tunes you chose...then I just got bored...
Great to look back on as I used to live in Warwick Gardens, but they never looked as good as in these clips!
The early stuff brings home how many stables there must have been in liverpool.
I can't help but laugh at the exaggerated mens moustaches in them days (and some womens too, lol) & how a lot of the men on on one of them ships all looked like the captain of the Titanic.
My mother is from Liverpool born in 1934. Enjoyed seeing film footage of my great-grandparents and grandparents era. I just have a few cousins left there. I've been to Liverpool several times always was treated very well. Scousers are some of the best people in the world. Later Gators from Tuscon AZ 85704.

I loved the old footage! But to me they should have used music from the time period too! Like big band music! etc.. But that's just how I feel!!
