  • Good instructional video but there are more factors in wave formation. Sea floor profile influences the wave a lot as well. A swell needs a shallowing sand bar, beach, reef or point to propagate a wave.

  • I thought waves were formed by hitting the sandbar or the reef at the bottom of an ocean. And then the wind helps shape the wave.
