  • we know... yin mean cloudy and yang means sunny

  • Actually the meaning of yinyang is not meant to be thought of in terms of right and wrong or good and bad, as those are moral interpretations. Yinyang is positive and negative. Not right or wrong. Not bad and good.

  • No top comment? :(

  • made my smile :) nice story

  • this is not yin and yang and your meaning is well off! im very suprised. Good and bad?? is that all the teaching you have learnt!!! and a farmer, find a real teacher

  • Thank you for the message, presentation and translation. Very nice the story as well.

  • @stocksandshares ....before I offer a reply may I ask what do you think Guardian Angels are expected to do for an individual? And if I may say there are no ridiculous questions. Any question ask with a sincerity for answers are good questions. There are only those who judge the validity of a question to be stupid or ridiculous are wrong to judge.

  • i really loved it thanks..

  • very cute presentation!

  • That was awesome, been dealing with some misfortune myself and this certainly made me feel better, thank you.

  • Beautiful

  • Like.

  • thanks a lot! it helped me with my project :D

  • Thanks alot! Now I have something to look forward to when I'm down. Good story btw. :)

  • Well Done

  • thanks alot

  • Very interesting Thanks !

  • the symbol is wrong way :P.. it should always move clockwise.

  • @orgea no it's not, it looks as if any ways, a yin yang rotates around eachother in directions to still say they are "opposite".

  • @orgea ...well, you're right and wrong. The Taiji you refer to is the most familiar for expressing YinYang as in the I-Ching and Taoism. The mirror opposite (as displayed in this vid) is also correct, just less prominent but still valid.

  • Where is the yin see?

  • So she means that THe ying yang represent evil and good and that if yin goes more the yang goes out so it means its balancing out IM SOO FREAKING SLOW

  • @wilfrancis15 ...no, yinyang does not represent good and evil. This is a common misinterpretation Westerners make. Good and Evil are products of the human mind, a expression of behavior. YinYang in Taoism expresses aspects of nature; complementary aspects that give definition to each other. Within the Taijitu (the yinyang symbol) each aspect has the potential to be the other (the dots) and flow of cycles...while one expands the other contract and vice versa until balance; harmony is achieved.

  • i learned a lot its weird when life really does go like that dont give up just like marten luther king and other people

  • thank you. what a lesson. i learned something great.

  • Good StorY!!

  • ecco perche' Bertoldo era felice quando tutto sembrava senza speranza ed era invece tristissimo quando tutto era bello!! AH...AH...AH..

  • great!

  • Thank you for the explanation :)

  • ya but if things are good, bad is just around the corner...

  • @Flawrey it doesn't reprosent good or bad just positive or negative male and female and the balance between the opposites

  • @Flawrey hahaha, true, but hey, let's think positive

  • Perceiving reality in "Yin/Yang" terms . . . is a useful practical perspective because it's SIMPLE.

Most people can learn to do it . . . to get pretty decent results . . . that approximate how reality works . . . reasonably well. That's a good thing.

Once, however, you personally experience the limitations of the "Yin/Yang" perspective . . . consider exploring reality in more sophisticated (although less easy to learn and practise) . . . "One/Many" terms.

  • awesome. thank you!

  • ..overly simplistic... YIN is our receptive, inward, sensitive nature, YANG is our outward, expressive nature. The in-breath is YIN, exhalation is YANG. Feeling is YIN, thought is YANG. Space-YIN, action-YANG; both are needed to create anything. All men and women have both polarities. All gestation is YIN, all birth is YANG. Silence, meditation and wisdom are YIN, their outward expression is YANG. The two are cosmic principles and do not represent sexes in a clear-cut way. Love to all....

  • Yin yang probably describes everything have an opposite. It kind of make sense, too.

  • me and my friend have yin yang friendship necklaces, and we've been trying to find out who has wich symbol, so i'm really glad i found this vid.

  • Lovely vid

  • i fucking love it!

  • I'm a woman and I am offended. Yin is not bad and we are not weak. A man probably told you that. In many energy based healing techniques, you need to balance both the yin and the yang in order to make the lighter (higher energy). The better way to explain it is that yin is the receiver and the yang is the giver.

  • @hopecharmer it doesnt matter if female is weak, its just a word, its not good or bad mate. if you apply a negative energy to a word any word can be "bad" or affend people. its just a way of describing i think

  • @hopecharmer

erm.... there is yin and yang in everything. Doesn't mean that 'women are weak' just as it doesn't mean that 'women are black'. Fundamentally, there is no dualism between yin and yang (everything is intrinsically unified).. but she says "IF yang is strong, yin is weak etc..", and yep, if yin is the receiver, yang is the giver.

  • @hopecharmer ...you are quite right. The common fallacy most make regarding YinYang is that it represents opposing forces; strict absolutes. It does not. The aspects are complementary and each has the potential of being the other. Each force ie aspects has value and meaning. In the cycles of flowing; as one expands and the other contracts the by-product is change and growth. And eventually balance; harmony.

Do you realize that some people also believe that God is both?

  • @DMKTENN i don't really hate hate them i just don't like the feeling that my country might be threatened

  • @DMKTENN ....you're right and wrong. First the word "anime" is the Japanese abbreviated pronunciation of "animation" Anime came to American attention in the 1960s and exploded in popularity in the 1980s so Anime is strong associated with Japanese. There is Chinese anime; referred to as "Manhua Anime" and it was suppressed by the Communist Party so Chinese anime was unknown outside of China. However in the 1990s a change of policy is allowing Manhua anime to re-emerge

  • Thank you prety-asian-chick-who-am-not-atracted to-but-i-want-to-bang-so bad. That was really constructive (seriously)

  • Yin-Yang-Wheel..., what this girl explained to us is only 1/3 or less of the meaning of Yin and Yang. Only Yin Yang Masters know the real Yin-Yang-Wheel...

  • she said the basics of the ying yang which was pretty neat and straightforward.

  • wanna know the real secrete? It was a symbol of the Roman empire, it dates back in the 4th and 5th century. The yin yang dates back to the 12th century in China. Like how the Nazi's stole the swastika and tilted it 30 degrees. The yin yang insignia were detachments of the infantry of the western Roman empire.

The yin yang stands for "there is no absolute good or evil'

  • What the heck are you talking about? There are numerous archaeology discoveries of the taiji symbol in China dating back to 3000 ~ 4000 years before I'Ching and that's WAY, WAY before Han empire or your precious Roman empire even existed. Yes there's been controversy surrounding the origin of the symbol, but it's about whether it was from previous civilization/extraterrestrials or it was from this civilization solely.

  • wha? I completely forgot I said this, I learned from my college professor okay, that's what he said. Look I dunno, and I kinda don't care now

  • In the 4th and 5th century in China the symbol along with the bagua symbol were already past invention stage, and several transition stages due to cultural/political reasons (Chinese rulers censoring/changing it, etc). And the symbol is not that simple, if you take into account I Ching divination you will open a whole new level of meaning, and there's even more. The Roman empire or even the Han empire at that time were NOT sophisticated enough to 'invent' such a truly remarkable symbol.

  • sexy and smart

  • that was awesome!

  • nice :)

  • Very well presented. Thank you.

The circle containing the Yin Yang symbol is usually missed by everyone. It represents the WHOLE - empty of all qualities, it is available for the expression of all the manifestation. It is like empty space.

KNOWING is like this 'container', the circle (Sphere of being) - all is known without a 'knower' - yet the knower appears and disappears.

'Good' and 'bad' only appear and disappear in the endless wheel that turns upon emptiness.

    Warm regards - Gilbert.

  • This is the easiest first-level test of whether someone knows what they are talking about when they talk about Yin/Yang . . .

  • Like it.

  • yin is weak?yin is bad?hello?get a grip..the fact that you are asian doesn't automatically imply that you are right. study more tao before posting. or maybe the translation is bad!

  • thank you - this really helped me understand taoist water meditation-

  • is this a Tien Tao class?

  • that was inspiring

  • So when all is bad, good is around the corner?

That would mean if all is going good for you, then you must watch out as misfortune is just around the corner for you.

  • Not really. As stated in the video, what you think is misfortune coming around (when things are good) may in fact be fortune. So don't take things as good or bad. Just go with it.

  • Be like water, as said by Mr Lee.

  • There is no such thing as "Good" and "Evil" in the first place. These are things are shown as an example through nature itself.

  • Just like darkness is not substantial thing but rather the absence of something (light), evil is not a substantial thing- it is the absence of something which we call good.

  • @infinitusverum: basically change is the only constant

  • what a cute story always was intrigued by the yin yang symbol when everything goes bad some how i see that symbol so i had to look it up out of curiosity...thanks!

  • i really enjoyed the story thank you uploader

  • Oh I wonder what happens during mating season!

  • Yin Yang are the spirits of sun and moon.

They both work together to create takirumu witch

    keeps the world in balance.

Yin and Yang are not good and evil in my beliefes they are balance and order.

  • That was nice..

  • the ying yang mean death and life!

  • mostly its looks like they balance each other and without the other, the world would be in chaos or something.

  • Very nice indeed ;)

  • True art comes from pain and suffering

  • Maybe...metal...

  • The Wise Farmer- my favorite Taoist story! I think I'm in love, lol! ^_^

  • ce bn zice eu nu credeam asa ceva =))))

  • frumoasa poveste:)

    hello from romania;)

  • 我爱上了你:)

  • I love those stories. :o) I wish Western societies had more of an emphasis on parables and/or stories that taught lessons like that.

  • Western society would rather watch The Simpsons and yell at eachother about trivialities. But you probably already noticed that.

  • You are by far the mose beautiful chinese woman that I have ever seen.

  • thats pretty good, i get it now

  • i see so thts how it works

  • nice video

  • I LOVE IT!

  • you shouldn't be such an ass. im pretty sure he was referring to the literal translation.

  • no balanced yang only means balanced yin.. why? because there is no such thing as a completely yang or yin space.... only degrees exist like the sky color is more yin than yang--and a sunny day has more yang atmosphere than a rainy day.

  • because the if's are seemingly infinite when describing what doesnt exist-like good and bad. the yin yang is empty and complete. thats why she says if...even light and dark are physical abstractions but doesnt exist seperately. if there is no such thing as light is there such thing as dark?? no. they are one with each other.

  • good and bad cant exist without each other. its impossible to define good with out implying bad.

  • well tietcanhvit ....good and evil exists in the head only- nature doesnt distinguish between them. when good is abstracted then bad is implied. ultimately there is no such thing as either of them. the 2 words only exist in language. yin yang doesnt represent what exist mentally-only physical nature=)

  • I believe that Jirouy... that is why I asked why she (the video person) refers Yin Yang as Bad and Good.

Another question, is being balanced Yang? Is being imbalanced Yin?

  • Why does it represent GOOD and BAD? Isn't GOOD means a balance of YIN & YANG and BAD is the imbalance? If GOOD represents YANG, then one cannot reach to the stage of balance between YIN and YANG, for the stage of balance is GOOD, which will always be YANG. I don't think GOOD and BAD represents YANG and YIN.

  • yin is positive energy, yang negative...both together generate chi...

  • insperational, i feel in lightened an encouraged (honest). but that was very good explanation.

  • cool, also yin yang is related to ur chinese symble, picies aquarius, stuff like that

  • great! Love this girl, who is she?

  • thanks , i loved the story!

  • Yin means - and yang + but also reversed it depends on wich one is more or less but always balanced ,actually it is two forces working together as one to create balance with neutral matter ,all of life is energy it just depends how you look at it .

  • wow i completly understood the meaning of yin yang from an asian person weird....

  • hello can i ask what do yin yang mean??

  • thank you very much... the funny thing is that my family calls me yin... i dont now why.. but i got used to it :). thanks again..

  • thank you this is very enlightening, so good

  • Oh this is a good lesson , should teach my class this ^^.

  • Thank you for your beautifull shareing and love, ill show this to my kids

  • nice one.. thank you!

  • I rememmber growing up thinking it was some "occult thing". hahaha. after last year i'm so glad i learned of its true meaning and purpose.

  • I liked it thanks !

  • I like it. Thanks!

  • YES! Great story. The way of Y&Y is in it's becomming indistiguishable. No duality. mainstream Y&Y is a mentality of causations corresponding to polarizing, vibrating, genders of rythmatic effects. Mind in Harmonic Balance is the Unconditional Acceptance of the Absolute Relative Truth to Conceptual Conditioned Duality. Y&Y is precurser to THE ETERNAL ESSENCE OF EXISTENTIAL EQUILLIBRIUM.
