@hatman1 go to your mpk25 website look for the reason control files, I think they're called reason control maps" or something like that and follow the instructions when you download it

Hey man, so whenever I assign the pads to the corresponding slices in Dr. Rex I have to reassign them everytime I start Reason. I've tried saving the Reason preset on the MPK49 after doing this but it still reverts back to the default note assignment for the pads. Any suggestions please!?!?!

really the only problem i'm having is quantizing , i had to firgure out the 4/4 count, got that, but when i play my instruments on my midi controller and i'm off by a lil, it really dont quantize on beat

What reason do u have? I use reason 4.0 and it has a auto quantize feature, what is off on ur end? Drums or melody?

i have 4.0 also, the drums are off but i can manully fix that for the most part after taking some time, but my melody is whats really killing me..i mainly try to do 4 bar loops, but wit a 4/4 signature i found the best looping for me is when i start a 1.1.1.0 bar and end 4.4.1.0 bar, but i dont think thats a full 4 bars , is it?...i thought i was suppose to loop from 1.1.1.0 to 5.1.1.0

All right, what midi controller do u use? Is it connected the right way? And when I make a melody on my reason sequencer window, I put the left marker on 1 and right marker on 5, that's a 4 bar loop

Funny I have the keyrig as a backup also, but u can get the mpk49 for about 350 on craigslist if u look, YES it has tempo tap, appregiator, everything a mpc has,

i just started making beats like 6 months ago so i had been using fl studio, quatinizing(sp) seems easier, making loops seems easier , i might just rewire reason inside fl studio and use reason capabilities inside fl studio

Well incase u didn't know, u can use the reason sequencer to make beats with and its just as easy as using fruityloops, reason just looks hard but once u get the hang of it u will realiae it..

@JohnyRichTV its only cos ur not just using it right. its the same for everyone. its only as good as the user. read the manuals and know the midi controller and ur program well and u wont have problems. sorry but its the user not the product when it comes to most instruments

I think u should honestly get the mpk25, or the (mpk49) mpd got NOTHING on the mpk 25 or the 49, and as far as sounds u have to have some kin d of sound module, like fruityloops, reason, cubase, protools, ect. The actual mpk has no sounds its just a mid

no, it's just a midi controller so you need a DAW software like Ableton Live, Reason, Logic... to create sounds.

Yes, its midi meaning it only gives out a signal. You could use a sound module or sequencer.

you have to set it up like that and it will work, make sure all the codec files are in the right place. sometimes i even delete the midi controller icon and then add it again
