  • I understand .... somebody there forgot to " Toe Nail " the bottom Plate Hhahahaha! beginners type of thing to do...

  • lol thats why we nail bottom plates in place, the nails bend and it allows the wall to stand exactly in place without sliding

  • not eat Frosted Flakes in the morning!!

  • Im sure nobody else who has commented on this video has never had a close call. The comments here just prove how proud framers are.

toe nail and a couple of chicken blocks(kickers) work well.

Wall jacks are cheaper by the hour than a bunch of laborers. sometimes a bit smarter.

  • @randyalex44 nah its acutally faster to gather up 3 -5 works, do the sides or back wall than get the boys to lift Once second two - three walls are up and thats it! Coffee break!!

  • the video shouldn't be called "How to build a House" it should be called "How not to buld a house by wann b's" lolo dumbasses my son 13yr old can build it better...so idiotas

  • Man you guys body movements looked choreaographed lol

  • 5 men almost went on vacation paid for by workers comp. double check people..

  • yep toe nailed and then hitter in the shitter!!!

  • Idiots! toe nail you bottom plate to you 5 1/2 snaped plate line and you wouldnt have that problem. you are the reason my insurance is so high. get a desk job and leave the framing to me.

  • @fabframer wise man told me self praise is no praise.

  • @SPB282008 Yep, exactly! Any time I raise a wall thats been ply'd I always nail some scraps to the outside. We had an insane 30' section to raise (Only had 4 of us there to do it) and we needed to do that, or else it woudl have fallen down a second story into a ditch.. bad news for us all ;)

  • you should have toenailed the bottom plate to the chalk line

  • @kpreston69 You are so sad - a complete waste of any woman's time. If it's true you have your kids, which I highly doubt, I feel sorry for them. No child should be raised by the likes of you. And yeah, she fucked you over good!!!!

  • Toenail your plates down at least for exterior walls. And how did you square it properly before sheathing if you didn't tack down the bottom plate.

  • You need cleats, dummy!

  • z28ace: dumb ass, the house is complete and being lived in for three years now; maybe you should think before you speak

  • dumb asses. put a damn block on the edge at least. think before you do.

  • Theres a forward component when the guys rotate the wall from its pivot, vector mechanics, hehe.

  • yea, gets a little slippery in the winter..lol thanks for the chuckle..

  • Slow down and do it right the first time boys.

  • WHERES THAT KICKER BLOCK

  • toe nailing it while laying down on the line would've prevented this

  • look this vid "The real carpentry ! (revised version)" and have fun ^^

  • It is nice that none of them chicken shitted out and ran. Good team. A puss on a job can get a lot of people hurt. Great that they seem to be ok after that mistake.

  • alls you need is about 3 or 4 nails at an angle through the 2X6 into the floor. Did it a thousand times. Heck, one time we did a similar wall and was half way up and someone started laughing.Just about died.

  • or just strap the bottom plate to deck with banding straps from lumber load

  • stupid

  • nah just toe nail the bottom plate on the line before u frame the wall...........lift up not out lol

  • Whew. Miller time. lol. Helps to double check the cripple nails are in place. Hope no one screwed their back up.

  • they all react the same way at the same time. nice.

  • Forgot to toenail bottom plate

  • What a braintrust!!!!!!!!!

  • Think they forgot to put nails into the bottom so that when it lifts then bend and you can hammer them flush when its up, lol.

  • lol who forgot the kickers

  • put the wall right in place and tac a couple angled nails in the bottom plate then lift and it wont slide, then you can use a sledge to put it right in place

  • .neilbubbarenoconstructions.

  • That's why I was taught to nail the bottom plate to the floor on the outside (interior side) of the line. Then when the wall get lifted, it wont slide and the nails will just bend up while you life the wall. you can then tap the wall to the line and after nailing the bottom plate down, you can tap any exposed temporary nails flush with the wood.

  • haha

  • Did they work on my house? Watch My Money Pit, parts 1-3.

  • been there before.

  • Question: how many construction workers does it take to raise a wall?

Answer: all you need but not these construction workers !

  • Comment removed

  • I know your in a tight place, but don't start saying those things! You'll win your case

  • Actually, I won't. Georgia laws protect the builder, not the homeowner.

  • tHAtS WHy MEXiCANSz tAkE jOBSz FROM AMERiCANSz THEY GET LESS MONEY AND DO THE JOB BETTER MEXiCANSz CONtROL 99.9 % OF THE CONStRUCtiON JOBSz AMERICANS .1% HAHAHAHAHAHAHAEHEHEHEHEEHHOHOHOHOHOHHOOHOHOH

  • Dude, there's something stuck on your keyboard.

  • you forgot to drink your Bud Light.

  • Toe nailing the bottom plate to the line works good.

  • simpson strapps or lumber bands work awsum on the sole plate nail them in a L shape on contact area of sole plate and the long end of strapp needs to be nail to floor ,good luck be safe.

  • yea thats why Kickers are important

  • its called, put cleat nailers up! jesus fucking H christ, these guys LOOK like they know what they're doing but...looks mean NOTHING apparently. Worst case injury wise, a person drops the wall as it comes back down as you saw in the video, short of breaking their back they slip under their own weight trying to catch it and the wall lands ontop of them. They got damn lucky.

  • funny seen it happen before where it kept going

  • Those guys' are lucky they didn't hurt themselves or lose that wall. I hope this was just some amateurs and not a legitimate work crew.

  • a temp ledger board will solve this too!

  • I take a metal strap the lumber comes in and nail it to the wall and floor on the line and I toe nail the wall to the floor at an angle so it pivots on the nail , solves that problem, especially if the wall is 10 to 12 feet tall

  • space out the guys more the guys are to close toughter. my crew could have lifted that wall on the first try

  • did you nail the bottem plate to the floor??lmao put sum cleats or sumthin fuckin hackers gonna hurt sum1

  • where are the kicker boards.thats a 2x6 wall too!!! and i think it 9' from the looks or the sheating missing on top.you must just count on the tacks in the bottom plate30 seconds to nail 2 block, but you rather risk broken bones.hillbillies or someone has a flask of blackberry brandy on that deck! ha ha

  • wack some nails in the bottom plate or a stud on the outside

  • i swear the walls are supposed to be attached the to house when they build them...

  • nail some cleats in at the rim joist works all time

  • not when the wall is already sheathed. There is some handing off at the bottom to cover the rim joists.

  • Nail the bottom plate to the subfloor!

  • These guys are real atheles and work well together. That's some clutch teamwork there.

  • lol that was funny to watch lol 5 guys one wall, and almost desaster, glad to see you guys didn't give up hahaha.. swallow your pride boys others God will embarras you, now who was boasting before lefting that wall up? hehehe

  • To put up our walls we hooked a chain through the windows and lifted them up with a skid steer. We had the prebuilt walls.

  • duramaxsinner hit it right on........nail a block on the outside of the excisting wall so the new wall wont slide off.......especially if your a story up!!!!

  • Nice save!

  • also use a restraining line so you don't tip it right over .......

  • u can toe nail 16's in the bottom plate and lift, make sure u can see the snap line.

  • Personally, I haven't a clue what a chicken block is - can probably figure it out though. They did use a stop on the other two walls - the old part of the house proved a stop for the fourth wall. Actually, I think after this they might have even screwed a stop on this side.

  • hey guys u foget to put on and of the wall

  • lol thats good you didnt drop it lol
