The problem during 1683 I think is Formosa's gov failed attempt to invade China. They sacked Nanjing but failed to keep it. All they accomplished was wasting Formosa's man power and resources.

Depends on how you defend it. Defending an island with fixed fortification and less mobile army would be difficult I think because easier for the enemy to flank during invasion. Defend it with capable navy and air force, with superior scouting, like what UK did for centuries, would be easier, maybe.

一江山岛战役是国军/台军少有的一次顽强作战的战役。丢了整个大陆整个国家才在一个小岛上打出点男人样子，现在又妄称什么台湾军事如何，真恬不知耻。台湾人夸耀自己从美国买了什么武器以外（每次外购都有腐败丑闻），都会研究怎么能行贿逃避兵役，人心如此武器买来能干什么？！
还有台湾曾经被日本殖民化多年，所以很多人认为台湾还不如被日本统治好。台湾人也有人自称自己是台湾人，别人都是外省猪，和平时期尚不能团结，真是打起来恐怕又要发挥几十年来每战必内讧、必投降、必惨败的传统了。
