I love this song. It never gets old. Used to rewind my cassette tape just to hear it over and over again. BTW, is it me or can anybody else hear in this song a little bit of The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night"?
My favourite Breeders song....and always wondered about the rocking version i saw on rage and the album version....listen to the album i would say....but its different....the husky voice of this version kicks ass in several universes.
the breeders, babes in toyland, L7, 4 non blondes, betty blowtorch, letters to cleo, hole, etc...the 90s had the greatest gen(my gen) of females rockers. after the 90s it ended like the plague
Magic music made from within themselves and given to the world in order to wrap the things we lived those years. Simple, fresh and with such an intimacy!!!
this is SOOOO 90's I LOVE IT...The apex of Grunge..Back when a song was one take & if you didn't like it, GET OVER IT!!!! cut, wrap, press & play live!
@TheAdamewing Identical twins look and act differently as they age. It's an example of how our environment and experiences can shape and change us. It's not all genetics.

90's was brilliant!! For the first and unique time in the music world, good underground rock bands gone to top and get recognized for how good they were. Nowdays, shit is famous, great artists not.
@crashbreakerr Couldn't agree more! I just turned 40 a couple of weeks ago and would give anything to go back to 91'-95', EVERYTHING was better back then, but especially the music!
@bkh91171 i'm 37 and there are loads of great bands out there today. arcade fire, fleet foxes, blitzen trapper, local natives, the shins. Guess these bands will man a lot to today's 20 year old kids when they're 40 too :)

@musicphan1 i like this version better, i have the album. I just like this version cause i can remember when they showed it on mtv on the weekends. It had a buzz clip sign in front of it, then right after that weezer "say it aint so" would come on and id get excited. Then if it really was a good day tool "sober" would come on. Couldn't get enough of that video.
Don't know where to find it? Google Radio Free Cruze. That station has put me back in touch with the music scene the way things were when I was back in high school in the mid 90's. It's been a Godsend.
People in music videos are more interesting when they are themselves. None of that Lady Gaga bullshit
fuck you. all i hear is people bitching about 2 people: lady gaga and justin beiber. shut the fuck up. yeah they both suck dick hard, but im so sick of their names being brought up. shut the fuck up please.
Fun fact: the guitar riff at the top, which is repeated throughout the song, was inspired by Ozzy's vocal melody on Sabbath's "War Pigs" from PARANOID
@pierreerichexum Kim and Kelley are from my Ohio area, Dayton... saw them a few times performing and walkin' around the strip in the historic Oregon District near downtown Dayton. They're a BREED apart!
@FluffyPorcupines Lady Gaga is good for electro-dance music and its a whole different thing. This is very good noise punk. Comparing Lady Gaga and The Breeders is kinda ridiculous. I guess I'm just more open minded and vastly more varied in my tastes, but whateva.
@FluffyPorcupines yeah I hate the way she does everything possible to get peoples attention. I mean the things she says to journalists are such obvious cries for attention its so annoying
@roelran Have you watched the Edge of Glory or done any research on Gaga? By the way this band is cool, so I'm not hating on it, it's just that some people don't know how talented she is. You don't have to like her music to respect her as a person and musician.
Is it just me or is there some humor to be found in the fact that people are debating who's hotter- Kim or Kelley? Um, they're twins, right? lol. Anyway, this music is badass.
Oh the memories...I long for the days when stuff like this was everywhere and popular music just seemed real and right. It's a place that is inextricably linked with my teenage years and I sit listening to these albums and watching these videos reminiscing fondly. Incidentally, this is a different mix of this song than what is on the LP. I really like it, though. Kim's vocal is much rawer here.

@goestoeleven2001 It's hard to come to terms with how bad music--and most pop culture--is nowadays compared to the early- and mid-90s, isn't it? By the way, this isn't just a different mix of the song, it's a different recording altogether, and the song is played in A here instead of F#.
@VisualVVatcher They're Kim's project that she returns to whenever she has enough material to put out a record, or whenever they get asked to play somewhere. They put out a record in 2008, which I assume you know, and toured that for a year. Then they put an EP in 2009 and toured that. They did 3 or 4 shows late this past summer. This Last Splash lineup probably won't reunite, though--the new rhythm section has been in the band longer than any other members apart from Kim & Kelley.
i grew up on 90's music. what happened, all i see now is mindless, souless, sex power money driven vanity air heads. fashion and trends have hijacked music, subliminally feeding people a false sense of reality. GREED and consumption in expensive designer materials. control is the objective advertisement is the game. Celebritism is the new religion. RANTRAGEOVER!
Okay can we just enjoy the song without bringing up justin beiber. there were plenty boy groups and boy sensations long before him. And who is his competition? Miley Cryus? Hilaray duff. Come on the breeders competition was pearl jam, naravana, nine inch nails, weezer, radio head, smashing pumpkins. 20 years from now nobody will be playing justin beiber. The nerve even mentioning his name.
I'm 45 - I grew up with this music also and there was mainly a lot of crap music around at that time also. This wasn't mainstream fare - you had to seek it out.
The same is true of today. The people who hark back to their youth are out of touch. There is some amazing music out there - you just don't know where to find it anymore!
@hydemd I agree 100% man. The biggest thing that we had that doesn't exist now are record stores. If you knew the people at the record stores, they would turn you on to some amazing music.
@hydemd Where can we find the good music of today?? Please tell us because I've been searching for almost 10 fuckin years! I can't find it!! Please tell me if you don't mind. And thank you for your comment.
@RussX5Z I'm stuck way out in Saudi Arabia so I trawl a lot of internet radio stations and people making podcasts. My fave is Dandelion Radio - they were inspired by the late great British DJ John peel ( you can still find lots of mp3 rips of his shows on the 'net).
The music they play is all over the shop - it could be punky, electronic, regagae, folk - you name it - it's all new! I always find a couple of artists to chase up after listening to their shows.
There's NO music this good nowadays and it was EVERYWHERE from about 91'-95'! I turn 40 later this year and I'm coming to the realization that the best music I'll probably ever live through, happened almost 20 years ago! Well....at least then I was in my 20's and made the most of it, at least what I can remember!
@bkh91171 There's plenty of great music around these days, bands this great just don't get the kind of exposure they did when Nirvana blew the American underground scene open. Just takes a little longer to find them.
I'm 38, I was in college when this came out and I was hooked on this group from the getgo. Damn, I miss music like this. It was amazing how many female rock bands were so good in the 90's.
@Dildgaf so true I was soo hooked on L7, The breeders, and Big Foo Fighters fan. Good music these days are just scraping along right behind "the new shit" music.
I love this song. It never gets old. Used to rewind my cassette tape just to hear it over and over again. BTW, is it me or can anybody else hear in this song a little bit of The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night"?

Why did they put the worse version on the CD?
Shimodakhan 1 year ago
@Shimodakhan It's not as seemingly professional when Kim lags the lyrics, I would guess. That and this version is "dirtier." I love it \m/

@bkh91171
I heard people say the exact same thing when this was current. And people will probably say it again 20 years from now.

@Dildgaf .. and female solos too! Juliana Hatfield, Liz Phair, Ivy and April March to name a few.

This version is much better than the one in the official album.

@Dildgaf I totally get what you mean. There were a lot of female rock bands. And, GET THIS, they were good!
