@Valoric0 Was learning Java too. I like how everything is an object there. Also C#... so super similar to GML. As for HTML, I was learning only about the protocol so I can create a PHP script that would act as global server for my other game (MBO) :P

@TheSp310ha It's not. Read about physics and real demensions, not created by imagination of ppl who don't know anything about it. In real world there are only 3 demensions. X Y Z. Here you got X and Y only. It's 2D. Damn the amateurs who only play games...

@pokemon026 My antyvir isnt warning me about anything and I didn't put anything in there. I'm using Kaspersky which IS NOT FREE, which automatically makes it better than any free software. Also Kaspersky is a really good AV. This game is 100% free of any viruses or spywares.

@FrozenJusticeX According to the page where it was posted, Pablo1517 used Game Maker 6.1. Granted that was back in April of 2009, I don't know if he's made a shift to a more recent GM or is even continuing to make this.

@Pablo1517 That's a silly reason to discontinue a project. There's nothing stopping you from using placeholder sprites for the time being and post a request for a spriter on the mfgg forum or almost anywhere that there are sprite artists. Believe me, it works. I made a game where my placeholders were just a bunch of rectangles until someone responded to my sprite request.

my guess is that by placeholder, he meant random sprites to hold the place of the sprites you need until you find them

@Pablo1517 A placeholder is exactly what it sounds like, a sprite that just stands in place until you have some official sprites to replace them with. Placeholders can lack detail like my rectangles or could be sprites taken directly from Super Mario World for example. As long as you, the developer, know that those sprites aren't the final ones, it's all good.

@Pablo1517 I don't know about you, but I prefer function way over form. If something looks pretty but plays terribly, it will wind up on the shelf. But a game that looks terrible but plays amazingly will be played a few times over before getting bored with it.

Hmmm, this looks really impressive! I Like how you used lots of the smg element like the bee mario + fly meter, sling pod, pull stars, mario in bubbles, and the purple coins.

Now, what I DIDN'T like about it is that there didn't seem to be much gravity effects. Add more, and I would have been even more impressed. Also, I didn't like how Mario wasn't in outer space? It doesn't seem like SMG to me if he's in some greeny grasslands all the time.

But don't get me wrong, this is excellent!!!
