1 thing: the USS Hornet got nailed by the Imperial Japaneese Navy under the battle of Midway during WW2 and got abandoned. it must be another ship your flying by
@LLsRC Cool! I checked out a couple of your vids too. I see you are a Sac Rat. Never been there but I've heard of it. Sure don't want your plane going down in those salt marshes though =)
good video - saw the runway in there and thought "what the hell" then the notice popped up "not an active runway". Should have done a touch and go on the carrier tho :)
Hey Will ,I have another question. I am making the F-117 and I need to order a prop for this kit. Does it use a reverse pusher prop ? I`m not sure what kind of prop you get for a pusher type plane. thanks again...Lew
Hey Wil, are going to make plans for that FPV plane? I made your 1st one with some added stuff. Its a bit loud. Looks like your having a lot of fun with this one. Hope you put it to plans soon. Thanks for sharing!
@MikeysRC well i live about 10 minutes away from ALameda Point, that should give you a good idea of where i live. next time if you are flying in the same area just email me and i would love too watch.
Amazing video again, the port area is spectacular. We have a similar port in Göteborg but I don't have any flying experience yet there. Big cranes, big ships.
I think that above the channel motor failure was not an option :-)
@bigednycles no I would never do anything like that and besides it's a decommissioned carrier. Not in the military any more. It's just a floating museum
Flying over military boats, then over US ports....won't be long before homeland security comes knocking. You wouldn't be the first, that's for sure. Cool video though!
@tomxl3 Click on the drop down button to see more info on the video and you will see the power system. Depending on how aggressively you fly and if you have any ridge lift like at a beach cliff flight times are 6-10 minuets on a 2200mah battery.
@NoobyRC aaaa I'm not that sneaky. =) The base itself is also decommissioned so not really any tight security. There is only one carrier there and it is only a floating museum now.
nice mike...can you do a video on how to make camera mounts for heils/planes and what to use ect..so you wont that vibration..i have a 450 t rex pro and i been trying to make some cam mounts but seems to be bit vibration...what cam are you using? i like the quality of it...you videos are getting better and better...
@thatonebeone Cool...thanks for the suggestion. Actually on this plane I didn't do anything special as far as vibration dampening mounting. I just made sure to balance the props and also center the prop on the motor shaft. Yeah, helis are much harder to get smooth video from.
I can`t believe they let you fly over that air craft carrier. So much for security of an aircraft carrier. heheheh. Looks like a couple of bucks there sitting in that harbor. That air craft carrier runway sute looks small from above. looks like it`s just big enough for your plane Will, let alone a full scale jet. WOW gr8 vids bud.
@lewandlo Actually the USS Hornet is a retired carrier so not really any security around it like there is around an active carrier. Yeah can you imagine what it must have been like to land real planes on that?
Great job. I'm beginning to think your some kind of top secret Air force Guy. You made that corsair look like it was sitting still. They never saw that scratch built coming.
Yeah nice one and i thought i saw that A-7 drop it's drop tanks and fire off a few rockets at you when you got to close ;-) got to come back when the video has loaded better, thumbs up.

@rcjoseb Um, probably not. As the caption in the video states the USS Hornet is NOT and active carrier. It's just a floating museum now.

LOL there is a video floating around youtube called "Iranian UAV secretly filming US carrier"
there is a huge debate on how it was made (I think we made it and its propaganda myself)
But to see you get away with flying a RC plane over these carriers is hilarious, I guess the one here are decommissioned or something.
But still your awesome for doing it! I mean your at a airorce base flying a RC airplane filing and no one cared! YOU COULD BE A SPY! LMAO
Nice Nice Nice!
