Use body fat calipers or body composition analyser machines / body fat scales (I use an AccuMeasure3000 caliper) to discover your body fat percentage. When you know your weight and your body fat percentage, it's easy to discover how much is lean mass:
(weight / 100) * fat percentage = body fat,
weight - body fat = lean mass
Regularly measure and record your weight and body fat and over time you can monitor an increase in lean muscle / loss of body fat.
