  • How ya doin? You in England?

  • Nice!! Did you clearcoat or just put a shine on the colorcoat??

    -Tyler

  • @lisannhodges67 Hi Tyler, no clearcoat - just wetsanding the color coat. The owner wanted a vintage/NOS/satin look and a thin finish.

  • @EVHGUITARS4LESS Wow!! Looks great. Nice shine, especially without clear, impressive actually! Ive never tried to wetsand the colorcoat itself before. Great looking finish! :)

  • @lisannhodges67 Thanks very much. My friend ordered the paint - it's actually a satin (semi gloss) finish. Full gloss with a clearcoat and wetsand would have come out like glass.

  • @pinotman01 you're the man - the pinotman. Just say the word and the green guard is history.

  • What does wet sanding achieve that dry sanding doesn't?

  • @DougFCKNSteele In brief: Mega smoothness. The water acts as a lubricant and also prevents the paper from clogging up and causing swirl marks.

  • how did that 5150 turn out?

  • @EJG5150 The '84 Kramer? Pretty good - I uploaded a clip of it a while back.

  • @EVHGUITARS4LESS yea I saw it but it wasn't quite done as you said.
