Given that men have been known to take female hormones, grow breasts, and even lactate, I don't think it's absolutely necessary for a cow to get pregnant in order to produce milk. That's probably the way it usually works though, and I don't have a problem with that -- after all, we need new cows.

Animals eat other animals. We are at the top of the food chain. Meat is important for a balanced diet because it gives us protein. Milk, especially COW milk, gives us fat for energy. Only Soya can handle these for vegans.

B) Starvation, did you know that while people starve animals are well fed our limited grains and corn? It takes about 10lbs of it to produce just 1 lb of flesh, so is a very inefficient conversion. I support other groups, but they are much more right than you and the critics
PETA goes about things wrong and they're just hurting themselves and other animal rights movements in the proccess. They're right though, why do we drink cows milk? There's no need and really we would be fine to stop drinking milk after the breast feeding stage like other species. The idea of human milk factories is absurd; it's just of a publicity stunt. If they sent Ben and Jerry's a letter telling them to switch to soy ice cream no one would care...

Contrary to popular opinion, there are other sources of calcium out there besides just milk. Certain green vegetables, soy beans, almonds just to name a few... Sure, it takes more effort than just drinking a glass of milk, but to say milk is our only option for calcium is flat out wrong. There's some decent reads you can find with a quick "vegan calcium" google search.
People don't drink cow's milk that is intended for baby cows. Nursing mother cows are allowed to feed their babies. They are continued to be milked after their babies no longer need the milk and that is what we humans buy at the store. The cows will continue to produce for as long as they are regularly milked. They only stop producing after they are allowed to become engorged for too long. Peta needs to learn what really happens instead of sensationalizing what the minority of farmers do.
The way the pill works is that it fools the body into thniking it is already pregnant and so it stops producing eggs. Some women - not all - will lactate (produce milk) when they are on the pill but not actually pregnant.
On that basis it would probably be simple enough to create a tablet like the pill but with added hormones to simulate milk production.
So the woman in the breast milk factory wouldn't actually have to be constantly pregnant.
Cow's milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It has been well documented as a cause in diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne.

Calves are completely mature at like 2 years old, so you can't compare to humans. Cows lactate for as long as is needed for their baby. They WILL NOT produce milk indefinitely. Usually they'll keep producing milk for about a year after their last birth.
Cows produce milk for their CALF. The calf drinks the milk, and that's it.
When humans interfere by taking the calf away, and harvest the milk by themselves, the cow can become uncomfortable if not milked, but, like a human, I don't think its life-threatening.
Cows only produce milk when they've recently had a baby. Its not like they just produce milk all the time & we are doing them a favor by taking it away from them!

I support animal rights, and I think milk meat and egg production could be done allot better, no doubt. I think genetically grown meat or even create a milk producing organism. But most animal rights wouldnt support that, they want things to be natural which I think is stupid. If mcdonalds could make the same products using exactly the same meat but it was scientifically engineered instead of from killing cattle wouldnt that be a good thing? I dont trust PETA anyway.

Given that men have been known to take female hormones, grow breasts, and even lactate, I don't think it's absolutely necessary for a cow to get pregnant in order to produce milk. That's probably the way it usually works though, and I don't have a problem with that -- after all, we need new cows.

PETA's statment seems, contradicting. I thought, last I checked, that cows needed to be milked to relieve pressure or something (so not doing so would cause conversations about exploding cows)
And peta's replacement? Well, they might have to provide that on there own, I don't know how many women are going to stand in line to be milked (it's some kind of perverted fantasy...)

Honey, there are tons of HUMAN rights groups out there. PETA just happens to be an ANIMAL rights group. And milking cows is cruel because a cow must give birth to produce milk, and after she's given birth, her calf is taken away from her (males are turned into veal), and then she's hooked up to a machine and has the milk suck out of her by that. 2, Female cows have to be pregnant to produce milk.

A) It was obviously a joke to get people to think, that we are not babies and nor cows, which are killed for veal so we can steal the milk from the babies. Would you drink dog, cat or rat milk wierdo?
B) Starvation, did you know that while people starve animals are well fed our limited grains and corn? It takes about 10lbs of it to produce just 1 lb of flesh, so is a very inefficient conversion. I support other groups, but they are much more right than you and the critics

PETA goes about things wrong and they're just hurting themselves and other animal rights movements in the proccess. They're right though, why do we drink cows milk? There's no need and really we would be fine to stop drinking milk after the breast feeding stage like other species. The idea of human milk factories is absurd; it's just of a publicity stunt. If they sent Ben and Jerry's a letter telling them to switch to soy ice cream no one would care...

Contrary to popular opinion, there are other sources of calcium out there besides just milk. Certain green vegetables, soy beans, almonds just to name a few... Sure, it takes more effort than just drinking a glass of milk, but to say milk is our only option for calcium is flat out wrong. There's some decent reads you can find with a quick "vegan calcium" google search.

People don't drink cow's milk that is intended for baby cows. Nursing mother cows are allowed to feed their babies. They are continued to be milked after their babies no longer need the milk and that is what we humans buy at the store. The cows will continue to produce for as long as they are regularly milked. They only stop producing after they are allowed to become engorged for too long. Peta needs to learn what really happens instead of sensationalizing what the minority of farmers do.

The way the pill works is that it fools the body into thniking it is already pregnant and so it stops producing eggs. Some women - not all - will lactate (produce milk) when they are on the pill but not actually pregnant.
On that basis it would probably be simple enough to create a tablet like the pill but with added hormones to simulate milk production.
So the woman in the breast milk factory wouldn't actually have to be constantly pregnant.

What the video poster is basically saying is he doesn't care enough about animal cruelty to interest himself in how the milk/food is produced. It is ALL produced by imprisoning animals in factory farms and DENYING them every single natural behavioural need. Cows milk is not for humans but calves. Humans are the ONLY species who drink milk after babyhood. Drink rice milk and stop the pain.

Look up "Too Old To Breast Feed" and there's a woman who's still breastfeeding her 5 or 6 year old, and she doesn't have like a million kids.

Calves are completely mature at like 2 years old, so you can't compare to humans. Cows lactate for as long as is needed for their baby. They WILL NOT produce milk indefinitely. Usually they'll keep producing milk for about a year after their last birth.

That is so completely untrue.
Cows produce milk for their CALF. The calf drinks the milk, and that's it.
When humans interfere by taking the calf away, and harvest the milk by themselves, the cow can become uncomfortable if not milked, but, like a human, I don't think its life-threatening.
Cows only produce milk when they've recently had a baby. Its not like they just produce milk all the time & we are doing them a favor by taking it away from them!

This move by Peta is proof that vegans are starving themselves to death, and are instinctively looking for ways to get the cholesterol and fat that they so deeply crave, with out "cheating". Veganism is a really messed up philosophy that almost killed me. I was 6'6" and down to 145 lbs.
The fact that they're actually pushing for something as wacky as this shows how mentally ill vegans are. Veganism is associated with anorexia.
