Hey, is this the Jason Phillips who bought my first Ngati Dread book? Because if you're interested Volume Three, Revelations, is now available. Email me at angusgillies@xtra.co.nz if you're keen.
To Izzyellis - He may have done a 'Mean Ta Moko' for you, but that does not take away from the fact that he made a complete mess on me. And I'll dis any artist if they deserve it, and he deserves it. I've had 2 different tattoo artists try and make it good, with very little result. Do you think I would have travelled back to Ireland and not looked on YT for this chap if I was happy with his work. I've also sent him several e-mail's letting him know my thoughts on his work. Maori's hatin us again
@BiggykWeSt Kia ora bro and thanks for the kupu ataahua. This looks to be a porutu and is credited for the playing at least to octaves. There is a quaint story around this taonga. I have a Rehu from Brian Flintoff and there's not alot of info around that... Take care Mahina
@17maorigirl Kia Ora Mahina.. the higher octaves are alot less shrill compared with toroa porutu. i might have to have a go at making one of those.. :)
Ian mathews1 u are full of garbage, the bro did me a mean ta moko along with many others! Dont disrespect an artist boy. They dont let anyone give tamokos in Whakarewarewa!!!
This guy also gave me a tattoo and made a complete mess on my shoulder, bicep and tricep. His equipment is completely out of date, and he talks non-stop crap.

This guy gave me a tattoo when I was in Rotorua. He gave us a great time and hours of interesting conversation.
