  • you look like ethan hawke

  • u did a great job i think that this vid, really gets the meaning of this beautiful song :)

  • I loved your video...thank you so much for sharing.

  • Interesting...I heard about the "Perks of Being a Wallflower" from my good taste in music, which led me to this video, and then read everyone's comments about the book.

  • This is a great song, shame the video lets it down.

  • @arduino68 he said eat your vegetables unless you want to be an anally retentive fag that loves constipation like arduino68 on youtube, that was his quote verbatim, and he agreed that this video is shit and the creator needs his mind read and/or skull fucked again for good measure.

  • @arduino68 Thank you!

  • @arduino68 you are trolling a troll, bitch!

  • A Jedi Dead.

  • I find this so depressing, but cant help but listen to it when i am depressed.

  • I was feeling a little homesick for my German house...thanks!

  • this video is the worst self made music clip i've ever seen. fuck you fag poser

  • cCc oblomov cCc

  • iI agree there is a better world and it is here with your friends..........

  • you need help!

  • 4) used it to alienate and persecute those who are "different" or "nerdy". What an irony! Deep down I think they wish they weren't so drab and ordinary and wish someone would would persecute THEM...Sorry to wax so long with this; just thought I would use this response to answer several valid points already made....

  • don't go all Albert Camus over this,it's just hauntingly brilliant tune

  • youtube.com/watch?v=D7vSUjJ9lbc

check out my cover of this song, it's one of my first videos.

    Cheers!

  • Lol. Wtf did I just watch? I love this song though.

  • ganz grosses kino!...das ist mein voller ernst!

  • @easyutube73 freut mich!

  • Mongo

  • Good video.

  • Good song, fucking terrible video.

  • A propos depression and this song, there is no contradiction between savoring the soothing cadences of this beauteous melody and not wanting to remain in depression. The song is cathartic and releases a huge amount of existential angst in the listener in a way so controlled as to go unnoticed. Remember that in the "dark night" of the soul, it is darkest at the moment just preceding the break of light. We enjoy this song because at the deepest level we know there IS another world; there MUST be..

  • @sergi733

very good comment, I think this really is an iportant point to this song! even though the part about the other world is exactly where I can't follow.

wanting to leave this world for entering another cannot be rational as long as you have no real hint on how this other world looks like. but expecting that leaving this world means the end of all conscience and memory (of all mind at all) you can be rationally be judging this as "better".

  • @sergi733 really lovely comment x

  • @sergi733 i disagree with your last point I know Morrissey personally and Johnny your analogy of the music is correct but Morrissey is that lonely he really wants to go to sleep and not wake up where we live in Manchester this is so true im 50 now but his lyrics mean everything to me especially my connection to them an Eternal band for the people if only they would listen !!

  • @nipperj61 1.) Wow! Without knowing Morrissey or you personally, I can say that the lilt in his voice and the occasional buoyancy in many of his songs is a sign that subconsciously he doesn't really want to fall asleep in a nihilistic sense and obliterate his personhood for all eternity. When I was a teenager I was into Eastern mysticism and remember the concept of "mukti" or liberation from maya, the unreal, and can relate to the desire to just fall asleep and disappear, especially when you l

  • @nipperj61 2.) live in a decaying and blighted urban area, and are a sensitive lad to boot who just can't fit in with the street toughs who rule the place. At this stage in my life, I have embraced a more optimistic and Western view of ultimate reality. Where I will be 20 years I don't know, but I am aware that at the heart of human existence is the will to transcend. The reason some might be uncomfortable with the Western notions of "another world" is perhaps the moral implication of it as a

  • @nipperj61 for the deserving vs. a place of banishment for the condemned. If there is a heaven, and I believe there is, it is really nothing more than our REAL, NATURAL home. We BELONG there; ALL of us. We're in exile, and we are headed home. Lastly, a lot of the Latinos in L.A. who claim to be into The Smiths and all of that were and are PERSECUTORS of kids like the child Morrissey was at one point who have appropriated his music of alienation and existential angst as something "in"and

  • TRUE EMO.......,

  • i must love being depressed coz i love this song...RIP David Salas

  • I love this video, you did a great job.. makes me cry everytime i see it.. :')

  • @GraceParanoidEyes thanks

  • I'd sing that guy to sleep! He's cute!

  • The Smiths changed my life.

  • Do you sleep with glasses? I can't do that..

  • @nannivena

that charakter would not do under usual circumstances either. I've got the impression you haven't got the point...

  • @derfalschejunge They're only asking a question dude

  • WHAT A MAGIC SONG....... GIVES ME AN INCREDIBLE EMOTION..... LOVED THE SMITHS WILL ALWAYS LOVE THEIR MUSIC... REALLY... THEY MAKE THE MOST BEATIFUL MUSIC EVER ...

  • Fuck perks of being a wallflower. It may be a good book and I love reading very much myself but fuck it. This is a fucking smiths song. Mozza for life.

  • Perks of Being a Wallflower changed my life.

  • @Truett0620 your life deserves better

  • I happen to love that book. See, I'm not replying to anyone, because I'm stating my opinion in a (hopefully) neutral manner, not forcefully blaring it in a confrontational way. But to be completely honest, I'm not a big fan of this song.

  • i feel infinite. <3

  • i fucking hate perks of being a wallflower - a braindead catcher in the rye for the mtv generation. a song this good doesn't deserve to be associated with it

  • @pinguismybitch

WOW, a refreshing new kind of comment! I have never read the book myself, so I cannot judge it, but I am glad that finally there is some controversy here. Makes it more interesting.

  • @pinguismybitch I had it backwards. I didn't discover the Smiths from that book. I had listened to them far before reading that book. I actually read the book because I heard it mentioned "Asleep". I agree with you fully 100%

  • first time I've ever heard this song. wow, purely fantastic. I was just digging around to listen to the smiths and... damn

    great video too, nice work!

  • I woke up with this song stuck in my head.....my dad then told me that my grandma passed away early this morning.

  • May I tell you what this song means to me... Louder Than Bombs was first released in 1987 when I was 16. "Sing to me" is, just what it is... wanting to leave this life as we know it, and moving on. Nealy every song is about the long, and want of unconditional nurturing, and acceptance. The fact that a book called "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" brings quotations, and references in from this song is Brilliant.

  • I found this song randomly while on youtube one day, I believe, one or two years ago and I saw that there was a lot of talk about a book called The Perks of Being a Wallflower. There was a lot of controversy regarding the book, like literally every comment and review I read was different. So I read the book, and it was pretty amazing.

And I owe it to this song that I was able to find and read such a good book.

    I love The Smiths <3

  • @phase866

It seems you are one of very few who took that direction. Most people commenting here have read the book first. Maybe one day I will read it, too.

  • @derfalschejunge same here. I needed to hear this song more often to get out of listening to so much black metal. All in all, maybe it wasnt the best book, but maybe that's because it sounded like a diatribe to my own highschool experience. Who knows?

  • And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.

  • I was curious about this song since Charlie from Stephen Chbosky's "Perks of being a Wallflower" kept mentioning it. He loves the song so much.

  • yeah I just finished that book too

  • i love perks of being a wallflower! thats how i found it too :)

  • perks of being a wallflower<3

  • nice legs

  • Charlie sent me here :3

  • what a freak

  • Charlie, you're amazing. I hope one day I'll come home and find a letter in my mailbox with no return address, & Learn all about you and your life and how beautiful Sam is and how Patrick is an amazing person to be friends with, and how you listen to wonderful songs as Sam is in the back of her pickup truck, driving through a tunnel, and you all feel infinite. I love you, Charlie.

  • @arielleasaur He did write to you. All those letters were to each and every one of us.

  • toller song... sing ich meinen töchtern fast jeden abend... als einschlaflied...

    witziges video... :-)

  • i put this on my mixtape for patrick

  • This video is amazing.

  • I feel Infinite

  • "We accept the love we think we deserve"

Nice video :) made me smile

  • and at that moment i swear we were infinite :)

  • "We accept the love we think we deserve"

Nice video :) made me smile

  • I found this song because of the book "Perks of being a wallflower" Looks like everyone else did the same

  • @PLURscopeZ

No, I've found the song on "The World Won't Listen" when I was listening to it for the first time. :-)

  • @derfalschejunge I notice you have not read the book. it's a very fitting song to the book. it's one of those "becoming of age" books so i suppose i can see why people don't like it or understand it. I'm sure you would enjoy it seeing how you enjoy this song as much as I do =] it's a quick read any ways

  • re@PLURscopeZ yuppp same hetr

  • @PLURscopeZ me too im reading it right now

  • @PLURscopeZ Wrong, I'm here because of Emilie Autumn. :)

  • @PLURscopeZ fuck off you wanker

  • @giub81 LOL Wanker?! that's cute

  • @PLURscopeZ Not me.

  • @PLURscopeZ never heard of it :p

  • @LunarEcli You should totally read it :D it's a quick read, should only take a few hours.

  • @PLURscopeZ Not me either. In fact i never heard about the book before.

  • @PLURscopeZ More like because we're big fans of The Smiths & Morrissey that book can go fuck itself

  • @Westy91 Sorry i never listen to the smiths before I read this book. I love the smiths now. You don't have to be a troll about it

  • @Westy91 Haha so true.

  • thanks, Charlie. at least this was never used on Glee

  • Love this song

  • Love always,

    Charlie

  • so emotional! not like todays nonsense they call 'music'

  • This is the saddest song ever recorded. Well, after "Back to the Old House" from the same band.

  • Is there a story behind this? I interpret it as the character has just dealt with some kind of a loss, and refuses to believe the person is gone. Lost in his depression, he eventually just disappears to try and follow whoever was lost. Is that about right? Or am I pretty far off.

  • @wrathofautumn

You've come quite close to what I meant indeed. Is it too plain?

  • @derfalschejunge Not at all. I think it's lovely. :)

  • I know it's kind of pointless to point it out, and don't get me wrong, it was a touching video, really, but you didn't take your glasses off before you got into bed, which I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have glasses myself XD

  • thanks charlie where ever you are for showing me this song. it's so odd to hear this after reading all the stuff in "perks of being a wallflower." i haven't gotten through the whole book yet but so far i am having difficulties putting it down.

  • You΄re cute ;)

  • I knew this song BEFORE the Perks of Being a Wallflower! *brag*

  • "So this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."

  • @Ctrl1u

Why? Are you going to threat me?

  • Are you still I alive!!!

  • I feel infinite.

  • @UnitedDiscord touche. comment stolen from my mouth.

  • @UnitedDiscord you're not. no one is. go find a better book to quote

  • @pinguismybitch Lol, that made me laff and laff.

  • charlie hada avery bad taste in music

  • @Mylesperhour20 At least he didn't listen to Glee.

  • really interesting * * * * *

  • hilarious.

  • Oh, if only it were that easy.

  • for some reason, august and the perks of being a wallflower are the best things ever

  • I swear, I feel infinite at the moment.

  • Thanks Charlie. :)

    I love you buddy.

  • I like your video. I've always liked that song but it is kind of depressing. I love the look on your face when you were sitting and looking into the camera. Your little smile made me smile despite the sadness of the song.

  • Love Always,

    Charlie

  • Nice job capturing the posturing and analysis we perform on our lonesome. This is the first time I've heard the song since stumbling across it in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Heartbreaking.

  • I really liked this! You did a good job. You look like someone that would belong in a Kevin Smith film, like Clerks. I think it's the beard. Good stuff! haha.

  • There is another world.

  • yeah, it gets to you sometimes and depression takes over. its a beautiful song to listen to while watching the night sky alone

  • this is so gorgeous. <3

  • I liked you in the bathtub.

  • This video is very well done.

the black and white is a very nice touch.

The scene where you run and open the door to find no one there really hit home, I've been there before.

    Great video.

  • I love this video.

You timed it perfectly and made it really go with the song.

This is an amazing song and the people who are saying rude things are jealous that they don't care enough about the song to make something people can connect to, like you.

  • @thats1beastpotato Well, thanks a lot, but to be honest: making this video I did not primarily think of what fits the song best.

  • Oh for Fuck sake give yourself a shake

  • "Just a little selfmade music-clip, nothing special." Are you kidding me???!!! I enjoyed this a lot. The scene where you're having breakfast by your bed, i've done that before very often when I lived alone. That and chain-smoked. I would sit alone in my living room after work & desperately waited for the weekend to get drunk with my friends. I felt pathetic but learned how to be alone without feeling sad and discovered inner peace within myself. This vid's visual is very realistic. Good job!

  • @CZRREZNOR Wow, I've never expeced such a reaction. I'm quite happy you feel so. Thank you!

  • @derfalschejunge No prob... I'm just a very emotional guy... weirdo, freak whatever you wanna call me... ha haha!

  • @CZRREZNOR

At least your honest ! guess what you made me smile and i have no fucking idea who the hell you are how cool is that?

    thanks

  • @82558061 Very cool! Thanks... your comment is much appreciated and it's not even a video i uploaded myself. Lol! Derfalschejunge is the one to really thank for. His video is awesome. Simple yet with a clear positive point that we are all human and can feel this way at times no matter how different we all are. Oh and the Smiths of course... beautiful song. Ha ha!

  • Well done

    ^.^ Very simple.

People need to shut there mouths.

  • @EpicallyCrazzed Thank you!

  • @derfalschejunge No problem. I subscribed(: Keep up the work.

  • @derfalschejunge that wo sad i allmost cry :/

  • I found this song in the book 'The Perks To Being A Wallflower' and I adore it. I'm not even finished with it yet, but it's wonderful so far. <3

  • @legatolinear Thanks

  • ja, the perks of being a wallflower brachte mich auch hierhin und ich muss sagen, dass dein video echt ausdruck hat :)

    schön!

  • Me and my friend always used to request this song at the smiths disco, the guy told us he wouldn't play it and thought we were joking. I wasn't, I think it would have been quite beautiful.

  • strange that you get so many nasty comments on your best video to date.

  • @SuperZielke

thx, I think it's because of the song and maybe because of that book. people already have fixed imaginations and expectations.

however, I do not mind if people do not like the video. but only few tell me what they dislike about it. so their "nasty comments" are just worthless to me.

  • strange that you get so many nasty comments on a real great video.

    think you're very talented

  • very nice haha and your cute :P

  • i only found this song because of the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky.. and all i have to say is..wow..i love it

  • ugh, what a disgusting guy.

you and yours give the Smiths a bad name.

    And i love this band!

    Intelligent and witty.

But you don't get that do you?

  • @MrMelissa1550

    er... what?

  • Oh look everybody. @MrMelissa1550 is an angry little EMO. I wish my lawn was EMO so it could cut itself.

  • you look very cosy in your bed, was your boyfriend out that night?

  • @dronefin Yes and he left forever. Did he slip directly into yours or why do you notice the comfort of an unshared bed?

  • awesome.........

  • I love you Charlie.

  • I worked with lad in his mid twenties who gassed himself in his car I always think of him when I hear this song

  • someone please post reel around the fountain-its special to me

  • You should get yourself some big national health specs! Something Morrissey-esque. Nice job, mate.

  • @Slapbass13 I prefer enjoying by staying myself. but thank you anyway!
