Is that right you have abandoned your Nikon D80 for a Sony a700. Don't get me wrong Sony are good but you got rid of the Nikon. I think your going to regret that sooner rather than later
OMG! At least get the D300! The Sony A700 is good, but they are nowhere in the class as Nikon or Canon. IMO, that was a huge mistake. Again, it's only my opinion. Hope you like the A700! ;)
im getting a nikon D80 body only my dad found it brand new free shipping no tax on the internet for 330$! im so psyched! i need a really really good macro lens though i want one of those legendary micro nikkor ones
prepare to get ripped off big time.. i already know who you just bought that from... words of wisdom: search the better business bureau and rethink your vendor choice...
Only in the USA is it pronounced nai-kon, in Japan as well as in the rest of the world it is Nee-kon. Is it because of ignorance or are you just trying to be different.
I guess I meant to say North America, Canada included. So there! This issue of the North American mis-pronunciation of this Japanese name caused a huge flaming war at the Nikonuser forum about 10 years ago which ended up being mainly a "USA vs the rest of the world" debate. Quite a number of Japanese also participated all wondering how the mis-pronunciation started, and why only in America (Canada included).
I guess it is the same as Jackie Chan using the name of Chon Wen instead of John Wayne. Anyway the great Nikonuser resulted with a Canadian linguist leaving the usergroup in disgust (he was for original variant of Nee-Kon BTW), and the Forum admin had to lock the Topic off the board for hogging all their bandwidth. The conclusion? Well the American-Canadian continued with "Nai-Kon", the rest of the world continued with the original "Nee-Kon" and the Japanese still wondered why it was Chon Wen.
OK, let's not start another war here... you can go on saying Chon Wen! At least Canon doesn't have that problem ;-)) "Joe Bust" anyone? That's George Bush in case you are wondering...
dont worrie ill get to it lol. um yeah you need to get a 50mm 1.4 its nice man, yeah you cant beat it its a 100 doller lens. this is my next lens to get.
That's not biased at all, coming from a Nikon user. The Rebel XTi/400D is an excellent entry-level DSLR. I'm a Canon guy myself, having the new 40D, the 20D, GII, and Xs, and I like them all. I've used Nikon mind you, and I still prefer Canon over it.
Why people from the UK pronounce NIKON but the US people as NAIKON? And which pronunciation is correct? Thx

get the standard 18-135 lens, i use that for macro/telephoto its one of the best lenses you can get especially with the spot metering.
marshmellow377 4 years ago 2
18-200VR is better, has better glass and more ED elements, aswell as VR and more range
ichirootaniguchi 4 years ago
And loads of distortion and softness.
hendriksholm 3 years ago 2
The 18-135mm does have better IQ - and I'd pick that any day. Tell you what, I've owned both.
