  • does it matter which way you turn the peg? I know for tuning it would be nice to have them all the same way but does it affect anything if i dont do it like that?

  • ohhh crap. missing one of the knobs, so i can't even restring the high e!

  • Tail under, tail over. Got it, thanks buddy. Works like a charm.

  • best video for this.

  • Your tutorial has clicked with me sir. Hope as is well with you and yours. Will chordbookcom produce again? Really hoping

  • u have ugly nails dude :|

  • i couldn't do it so my mum had to do it for me, and she had trouble doing it as well.

  • either im a dumbass or re-stringing guitars is not my thing!, ive been playing guitar for over 4 years now and i still cant master this simple tecnique! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! i tried restringing my les paul but it always fucks up!! i guess im gonna have to pay someone to do this for me >=/

  • man i messed up!! i listened to another video that didnt even use slack! now im afriad that my strings might snap any time now...ugh....well at least this is more helpfull, gonna buy some new guitar strings tomorrow and give it another shot=)

  • Not a very good technique... doesn't look like there are enough winds for it to hold tune. Can't say I've heard of this "Sandwich" technique he's talking about. The ends are always atop the winds when I do it O.o

To each their own though, I suppose.

  • thanks, this really helped. my low E string snapped yesterday and i had no idea of how to put a new one on :)

  • if you didnt notice, only one hand has long nails, which means he STRUMS THE GUITAR WITHOUT A PICK. he NEEDS long nails for what hes doing..

  • @TheMangoGuy you sure these are his natural nails?i think he has nail-picks:-?

  • Nice video :) I already know how to string my guitar, but I wanted to comment because I find your voice to be very pleasant to listen to!

  • thanks!

  • 1.5 cm? wth thats not enough slack i only got 1 turn dammit try 1.5 inches

  • he is stating 1.5cm after you have pulled the string taut (tight) is where you make the right angle..

  • thanx it helped

  • Thanks so much! Really clicked in my head how to do it once I'd actually seen it done. And so calmly... :)

  • OMG! I feel like such a retard.

What I tried doing was sticking it through the peghead hole then wrapping it around the peghead...I didn't think to twist the tuner...

  • That's what Tom Morello does.

  • what do you mean the B and E "aren't wound"? what's the difference between that and the others?

  • if you look closely at the strings, you can see that all the strings look like small wound pieces of wire, while the e and b are a single wire/string

  • There isn't like metalic string wound around the outside...if you feel them you will be able to tell those two are slicker than the others

  • is this the same process for electric acoustic i assume so ?

  • at the top, yes, but at the bridge, no

on electric you pust the string through the back

  • Thanks for string lesson!
