Every time I drive by Warrior's Walk on my way to work, it really hits home. I'll never forget when one of my coworkers was notified she'd lost her husband. I wish my friends out of state & not in the military could walk here.
i walk throught there sometimes in the morning before and during pt. and every time it gives me chills. i dont want to have my own tree there, but it would be an honor.
There were about 457 there when I walked there. There were some there with me that knew some of the fallen, and the feeling of humbleness there was incredible. It is quite the honor to die for such a great country.
When my son returned home from his deployment in Iraq in April, my wife and walked through Warrior's Walk. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. So often we see on the news facts, figures, statistics....all slightly disconnected from people. There is no mistake when one walks here, you feel the connection to all of the men and women who have died for us.
I have never lost someone close to me. I cant imagine what its like to go through that. Please pray for my Husband, he is with 2nd Brigade coming home this summer. He only has 2months left but that doesnt mean he's safe yet.
Prayrs out to all the families who have lost sombody. I Just had to walk down that sidwalk to get to the fairwell ceromoney for my husband and the 76th of indiana.
To Wilson: I served with the 3rd ID in Bosnia around 2000-2001. I was with 252 armor out of Sanford NC (NG). I remember a Fisher. I know some of the guys I was with were killed over there. Was SPC Fisher over in Bosnia. Im sorry for your loss!!!!!!
