Wow you look wonderful, good for you! Not much people succeed as well as you have so far. Hello Amanda!  I have followed you since your beginning! Finally, did it myself...gastric bypass on 1-2-09, starting weight 268#, now 192# as of 5-14=09, thats 76# in 4 +months, ...thanks, for being here to be our role model! You are such an inspiration. I've been researching everything possible about the surgery for a couple years now and I've decided to move to the next step...insurance. Did your insurance cover your surgery initially and if not, what did you have to do to get them to approve it? Thank you :)

Where are you in SC? I had bypass with Dr. Bour in Greenville in July '08 and have lost 100 lbs. since then! You have been a great inspiration and got me through some scary times! Anyway...I would love to know where you are in SC.

I had surgery in Atlanta becasue a friend reccoended Dr Daly. As for SC I live in Mauldin and I go by the Dr Nutruuon center all the time (went a meeting or two just to see what they were like)

Ask your insurance if they cover the surgery, Talk to your doctor for a refferral, meet with the WLS surgeon and go from there. Do all the pre testing, blood work, psyvhological evauation, and nurturitonist consult (some people do or dont,) just do what the Dr tells you to do.

Amelia--been watching you for awhile now--thanks for the encouragement and honesty. I'm getting my surgery this Spring, and I was wondering how the Rogaine treatment was going for your hair. Is it helping? I thought that if you're having success with it, I would try it after my surgery to try and minimize hair thinning/loss. I couldn't tell in this video because your hair was pulled back, so please let us know! =)

My ankle has been hurting so bad. I haven't done much of anything. I can't wait to get all this behind me including the wls. I just want to get thd weight off so I can start feeling better. I just learned that with each step you take, your weight is doubled that you put on your ankles and knees. Any way. No more depressing talk. I got a new kitten. She is a calico and my other excuse why I haven't been watching. I named her Timber. My boyfriend is a logger. Lol.

In february I'm having another DNC and a 5th ankle surgery to remove 2 peices of bones that are floating in there, which holds up my wls. The doctor might fuse my ankle, depending on what the camera shows. If he don't its 2 wks on crutches and a big black boot for 2wks, if he does the bone graph to fuse it, its 8 wks on crutches. I'd rather him fuse it, I don't want any dowm time after wls in the gift time. I want to give my all during the time when the weight flys off.
