@thewii552 Like he said in the video, Chris is holding a Geiger Counter. Think of it like a thermometer, but instead of measuring how much heat it is in contact with, a geiger counter measures how much radiation is around it, be it from the sun, a warhead, or Three Mile Island.
Got the basics, but its actually deutronium or other types of hydrogen and if they are fused together causing a few hydrogen and possibly a Helium or 2
Very neat video - the more I see the more I see bill nye running around your shop! All it needs are some ridiculous edits to repeat and stutter important words to drill them into memory - you're doing the same just without the edits :D You could be on to something here!
A lot of people think we want to be the next Mythbusters (overlooking that we've been around a lot longer than they have, lol). In truth I have no interest in that. Though I can think of no higher honor than being the next Carl Sagan and helping popularize and celebrate Science for the next generation. I will never have half the talent of Dr. Sagan, but I can carry on his work into the 21st century with my own personal twist and style.

What are the particles that change our DNA called?

google the difference between alpha, beta, and gamma radiation.

Typically they are high energy Protons that come from Supernovae.

That's a pretty inspirational video, Chris, Good work.
Good work on all your videos, even the ones where you sat on a small gas tank in the beginning of the videos.
Keep it coming, because I'm sure you will never not have an audience

Ok I've been thinking about this for 5 minutes and I can't figure it out.
Small gas tank? I have over 700 videos online and for the life of me I can't remember those, lol.
And thank you, I'm glad to have an audience, I hope to real more people though. I really want to get this out there.

I was thinking more high energy particles coming from more distant stellar objects, but you are correct for solar radiation.
