Check the Motorola A920, that is exactly like the iPhone and was released back in October 2003. I think Apple is the one copying on others.

Motorola A920 is nowhere resembling the iphone (maybe you got the model name wrong). Lets talk about this fone; Its front view, the menu on the software. Plus most touchscreen used to come with a stylus as standard. By the look of things, its all fingers. Besides that, it is a good piece. If only they can make it thinner to be portable in your pants pocket rather than in your suit or jacket pocket.

Nah the Motorola A920 does exactly the same things as the iPhone, same crappy resolution video support, same applications (including maps with GPS, contacts, browser, sms..) and the Motorola released in 2003 is on 3G with a camera to do video-conferencing (something the iPhone isn't even powerful enough to do). Motorola fits just fine in the pocket, they also released A1000 and others some months after the A920 which fit even better in a pocket.

Yeh! Basically i shouldnt have compared the two coz its not comparable. LG concentrates on camera so if u into pics and video taking, its the tool for u. On the other hand, Apple iphone concentrates on ipod/mp3 player so if u into music and stuff then the iphone is right 4u. Hope we agree on this at least.

I think that if you are into showing off, and being so called "hip", eigther one will be fine, perhaps Apple is still the "one" cause people with that brand are safely going to look cool.

If you are into features though, I would recommend getting a real HD pocket camcorder by Sanyo, that will let you shoot Cinema-like video. And if you want a PMP get an Archos which plays all codecs and has many more features.

it does have a stylus mate, the icons are just so large theres no need to use it. its not exactly the biggest phone ever? if you can't fit it in your jeans then i suggest admiting you put on some weight and get a bigger pair.

HSDPA can be quite fast, but WiFi is fastest. And in principle uploading video to youtube and stuff like that should work better over WiFi, that is as long as you are in a WiFi hotspot you could as well use that. I suspect that LG did not include WiFi because telecom providers asked them not to, so they can charge for the bandwidth used on HSDPA.

Im thinking of this as an alternative.

And this demonstrator isnt very clued up on the viewty lol. She only knows the main features of it like 120 frames/sec and none of the real details like the resolution

I'm in a similair position, though the iPhone (especially its interface) is absolutely wonderful, I think it's just too limited. Besides, it's not legally available in my area yet so if I were to get one and accidentally let that temperamental bitch of a program iTunes update my iPhone, it might brick it.

However, the Viewty does use lesser quality materials, especially lack of a scratch-resistant glass cover on the screen like the iPhone does.

Yeah, I've gone for that but I'm on a waiting list, from what I hear LG wasn't prepared for the sheer demand of this phone. There's none left in any store where I live -its a popular alternative to the I-phone and I can see why, its spec sheet is incredible. So what there's no WI-FI -HSDPA is better for reception

Yes 120fps but it might be somekind of low resolution..

I don't think so. According to the online specs, it can record on VGA at 30fps (similar to Nokia 62and N95) or QVGA at 120fps!! And everybody knows that VGA is at least 12x better than CIF!!
