It seems, that's so difficult for some of ignorant people to understand that politic must be separated from religion and secular government must guide the country, especially in the democratic civilised forward countries, but that doesn't mean to wipe off the nation's culture & people's whatsoever faiths, yes, there're some traitors who want to do that evil acts in the name of atheism or whatsoever,
I'm an Atheist whether you believe or not but I'm,but I have to tell the truth,b/c I'm an Atheist that doesn't mean I should be anti-christian and ignore the facts on the ground, like the most of athests & non christians do that immoral act,all the presidents of the USA took the oath of office on the Bible, whether they were believers or not,USA is a Christian nation & was founded by Christians & culture, any ignorant who wants to deny & ignore the facts, but fortunately the facts can't be changed,
The founders were a bunch of racist, slave owning bigots. On the other hand, the Treaty of Tripoli alone is enough to prove that the United States is not in any way a Christian nation nor was it founded on Christian values any more than any other values. We are however a nation of mostly Christians -- Delusional, and certifiable morons with invisible friends who's gravest enemies are truth and knowledge.
@saburius "The founders were a bunch of racist",it might be,the treaty of Tripoli was an agreement between the government of USA & a bunch of pirate gangs 2 stop the piracy on mediterranean sea,
As in current days,American & Europ countriesean governments have a treaty with moderate terrorist countries which is named (moderate) who're exporting a bunch of terrorist gangs 2 the west 4 their religious purposes, there're 2 ways 2 win the terrorist in democratic countries, arrest them or coddle them
I respect your efforts in the making of this video post. However, it would be nice to provide the links or sources as to where you obtained the various information and quotes shown here. I know for a fact, several of the Founding Fathers quotes we taken out of context as shown here. The body to which a sentence or two is taken from can change the meaning very quickly. Simply provide the sources or links so everyone can make a intelligent decision. Thank you for your time. Peace all.!
@BT3701 "Wonderful - you've learned the dishonest art of cherry picking of quotes. "
So, would you care to elaborate on how, for example, the initial James Madison quote, where he apparently explains the purpose of the separation of church and state, actually discusses how the US was founded as a Christian nation?
It really is fantastic to hear such an accusation about a video that quotes Paine and Jefferson extensively though. You've not read "The Age of Reason" have you?
@Gnomefro Fact is people can pick and choose quotes from the founding fathers to make them appear to say whatever they want to. They said a lot of things that on the surface appear to be contradictory. But when you put those same quotes along what else they said, then you get a more complete picture of who they were and what they stood for just like we do when all the pieces of a jig saw puzzle are in place.
If you read the rest of his autobiography, even on the same page of it, he makes clear that those were his views when younger. He makes very clear that by the time of his autobiography he believes in an active God, eternal life, eternal punishment, etc. It is a a misrepresentation to present the quote you did as a statement of his Deism, without adding the refutation of it that follows in the same writing. His full autobiography is on the web, see for yourself.
Your Adams quote is false. Adams was arguing about the concept of the Trinity. He was not criticizing Christianity, he was arguing for his version of it. Your misquote takes two different sentences, one from his Entry of 13 February 1756 and the other from 18 February 1756 five days and many pages later. But your misquote even modifies both quotes. It is "mystery" that he calls a convenient cover for absurdity not the divinity of Jesus & it is "religion" not "Christianity" in the later part.
We have been lied to and many things we are taught have been lies and are not even in Scripture. If you are a truth seeker then check out the site in my user name and listen to the audio there. You will be shocked and you will come away asking many questions. Thanks

The quote by Lincoln is a known falsehood made up in the 20th century. Lincoln never said it.
