  • The beat in this song is so complicated, but it sounds awesome.

That clicking noise, the shaker, the distorted bass drum, then the distorted snare drum in the first loop. Then on the second loop of drums playing simultaneously, they have a clear snare drum, then a clear bass drum, only accenting certain beats. Not to mention the reverb and the build up cymbal noises.. I swear i'm hearing three different snare drums, and three bass drums. But its sounds awesome.

  • Nothing beats getting a team of DD Snipers, RC-P120s and the Unlimited Laptop Sentry Gun Ammo on Combat Simulator.

  • Long live Temple and Complex

  • Perfect Dark has got to be the most underrated, unknown FPS of all time. One of the one of the most revolutionary FPS of all time. Goldeneye started the revolution, Perfect Dark perfected it( no pun intended) It is a shame Microsoft had to screw up Perfect Dark Zero.

  • @7RadicalDreamers: btw Timesplitters was related to GoldenEye because some of the developers actually worked on N64 buster. No wonder why it's was so hidden, its a dark game. A Perfect Dark Game lol

  • The soundtrack makes the game. I hardly even like playing the game, and I don't even have a nostalgic view of the game. I can't pin-point what is so intrusive and appealing about the PD soundtracks, the ambiance is of true passion but I digress.

  • perfect dark es el mejor de los fps

  • SCREW YOU CHALLENGE 30! SCREW YOU

  • I'm sure everyone is thinking that this game is the true sequel to GoldenEye 007!

  • Agreed! Excellent music, fantastic game! Pure and sweet nostalgy! Many thanks for this vid!

  • 5 People are afraid of the dark.

  • There is no way this game could have been improved. The multiplayer "combat simulator" had more customizable settings than anything before, even saving your character's skin and rank on your controller pak, and getting those little rewards at the end of each battle, like an achievement. The game really was perfect

  • Perfect...

  • Played a game with just DY357-LX and Shotguns against 6 Darksims in the Skedar Arena....

Got 8th place out of 7 people like a boss.

  • @BTLarrity sounds about right XD

  • @BTLarrity good times, and still are

  • i remember i would just set the controller down n listen to this

  • ahhhhhhhhh, I love stumbling onto these nostalgic tracks. I'm sure the brain releases happy juice into my blood. I feel funny.....is this real life?

  • This game is to damn amazing . I need to own it . Nothing will ever beat this game OR song . <3

  • @14sailormoon i have the emulator, you can get it too to play it

  • This reminds me of hitting up about two or three bowls before I finally press the start button to begin my (our our, if friends were ready for vs.) night of quality gaming.

  • @DaveFallows Oh yeah man.

  • Fuck VengeSims. Kill one of those assholes, and shit gets personal, forever.. Just hope someone else kills it first, after you get sick of killing it over and over xD

  • 5 people still haven't figured out the expansion pack is needed.

  • Love the part that goes BOOM BOOM...... lol

  • This is a really game, end of the history

  • Perfect Dark is better that Goldeneye

  • @RevolutionMPC Both are made from Rareware, so I love em' both!

  • @RevolutionMPC duh Goldeneye is perfect dark's shadow

  • @styzonlinedotcom I'm confused, Goldeneye came out before Perfect dark.

  • @RevolutionMPC perfect dark is better that any fps

  • @cecile302

It's sad to see how FPS games evolved from Perfect Dark to Call of Duty.

  • @Zodiac11111 exactly, perfect dark is a FPS which evolve, COD is a fps which makes money

  • @cecile302

Someone called me a pussy for not liking Call of Duty.

It's sad how 2 million+ play Call of Duty, with the same recycled campaign and multiplayer, and not original games like this.

  • My fave music from PD :)

  • i didnt even noe there was a campaign in this game cos i neva had a memory stick thingy to play solo missions

  • @TheFobsta321

You're a terrible person for that.

  • @TheFobsta321 u can play solo missions by placing the memory expansion to ur N64 ^_^

  • broke heaps of shit getting WAR on perfect, was a real kent

  • Man, ten years and I still haven’t beaten WAR on perfect agent. The game can be quite unforgiving in its perfect difficulty. No checkpoints, no shields, no way to restore your health, limited ammo and punishing damage.

  • @gman435687 - Actually, same here. That's the only thing (aside from unlocking the cheats) that I haven't completed yet.

  • @gman435687 Ugh, same here man.

  • nice music

  • Best part at 1:35

  • This game is so utterly amazing and I thank Rare Ware for making such a game. Games nowadays can't tip this.

  • I spent so much time playing this game... Getting all the stars on the gun challenges... Ranking up... etc... This game was amazing...

  • OMG the revenge bots scared the crap outta me!

  • i have this game on my nintendo 64 and when u dont click anything at the start of the game...a screen saver type loop would play to this song..ya know...but on the xbla version/remake it just loops the opening cutscene of the game...is there any way of changing this or what?

  • @linkfreak117 This goes for the N64 version, but I think after some point in the game or when you beat the game you get that intro. Not sure if it's the same for the XBLA version.

  • Sweet, sweet memories :')

  • This was the ONLY track I played multiplayer to...

  • I just want to say that Perfect Dark has some of the BEST music ever produced for a video game, by the BEST game developers of their time, since Donkey Kong Country series, which also had an AMAZING soundtrack. AND, the music totally is very 90's style. YES, the game came out in 2000, but relax people. Everyone was still recovering from Y2K.

  • @uzi4u182 hahahahah fukn tru man ahahha

  • @uzi4u182 What about Deus Ex for the PC?

  • @SkedarOne really?? I love this music in G5 Building and look at the dark sky then kill all my enemies =D

  • I still have this awesome game on my N64 =D, love this theme "Alien Conflict" <3

  • This game came out in 2000

  • why Rare software stop to produce game like perfect dark ? WHY ?

  • This music on the map Skedar is magic. Perfect Dark 4 Ever.

  • Remember when this was like the first gun game bakc in like 1999? How the AI was hard back then? Now since we've played halo, cod, fallout 3, oblivion. Now the perfect dark AI is easy to fight. Remember the old days my friend flash backs. I get them all the time. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • THIS IS MY PSN AlienConflict

  • 4 people had goldeneye for christmas

  • @royokihokage lol that was a huge success of a game. that is not a dislikeable thing :p

  • Sounds like a Goldeneye theme

  • The best soundtrack on the game, i just downloaded the N64 emulator seeing as i don't have a N64 exact just for this game and for Zelda ocarina of time because i never played that Zelda game. Now i have though xD (Secretly feels a long term goal was accomplished)

  • @yawejg There are many good games for Nintendo 64: Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Conker, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldeneye 007 and many others...

  • This game is incredible. I got it the christmas I got my N64, and still play it now and then to this day.

  • @AlderDragon same here bro....

consols are going backwards the old ones are still the best.

  • thank god for xbox arcade.

  • That beat penetrates my soul

  • I like the new game systems but most new games cant compare to the classics, had the version on n64,got rid of most of my n64 games but that one is a keeper, still play it on my n64,no first person shooter can compare to perfect dark.

  • I don't understand how 4 people could dislike this. 4 people must have not played the game.

  • I loved this theme when sniping my friends.. those were the days

  • What the hell was Rare smoking from 1994-2000, and why doesn't any other developer have any?

  • I need to be a game dev so I can revive the spirit of this game. I'm friggen inspired by this music man. Too many devs these days are inspired by the money... They deserve bankruptcy.

  • I remember jamming to this shit in the highschool hallways.

  • The skedar king and his three clones disliked this

  • @vteam02 lol lets get the skedar kings and his clones, call elvis and get the dropship

  • love this music PD is the BEST SoundTrack i swear, EVERRRR...

    <3 <3

    JoannaDark Rocks My SOcks OFF!

  • lol said it once and i'll say it again.

Pendulum must be some die hard perfect dark fans! check out "granite" intro sounds just like this.

  • I can make music with this good deyzz

  • God I love that drumline.

  • FAKKIN BICH

  • Mr. Kirkhope, you were Rare's final gem that distinguished Rare from everything else. There is no hope for the once brilliant Rare anymore.

  • wow I remember this like it was yesterday

  • Thank god i still have this game and my N64 still works, but my controller is messed up. Anyways, i really REALLY love this game, in this game is awwesome even playing alone against the bots, i mean...cmon you can do so many things in this game that now days FPS games doesn't have, i say this game was too advance for back then, i just love it lol. Though getting this game was not easy for my brother, he had to trade some very good games for this game...it was painful at first.

  • Best song of the decade

  • This song reminds me of just havin so much fun, stayin up all nite, smoking cigs and gettin stoned with my buddy on warm summer nights.

  • it was the fact that they could shoot through walls, impale you from a hundred yards with a throwing knife and home in you and pwn you from a spawn that bothered me most about Darksims.

whoa. just imagine if they made a Perfect Darksim.

  • @Deejay10K Dark sims can't shoot through walls, they aren't coded like that(like they never shoot you with Farsight without seeing you), but they can shoot very accurately from extreme angles impossibly fast for a human, for example, with the same farsight, they shoot you even you are on a place 2 floors higher, but normal human would take much longer to aim farsight that high that fast.

  • @supercritical100 it just seemed like they could fire bullets through doors that i couldn't shoot through sometimes. or if i was only bare inches behid a wall their bullets would ignore that small space and home in on me.

that said i have never ever seen one use a secondary gun function with the exception of neutron bombs and throwing knives.

this was pretty cool because if i ever gave one a slayer i'd probably have doomed myself

  • I love this level and the song too

  • A singer could totally and easily use this as the background to a song...but thank god they haven't.

  • When/If they make another PD game I think they should go back to the alien theme. Maybe look into the cetan alien race, who they are, how they created such a powerful weapon, blah blah . . . just a thought!

  • @DuckSlayer51 I actually like this idea. I imagine some sort triple entente with the Cetans and the Maians and Skedar.

  • @shrub74 Excellent! theres just so many posibilities of where to go with the story.

  • man, this music makes me tear up almost...the good ol days, life was simple, it was easy...all you needed was your friends,an N64, some chips, pop and you were set...I don't even talk to the people I once considered my best friends and spent countless hours playing these games with...makes me sad.

  • This song IS the 90's..

    damn Im old..

  • @shortnfine219 Perfect Dark came out in 2000 though

  • @TheTKC LoL.. you're only 18. You don't get it, I see.

  • @shortnfine219 Pfft. That only works for 12 year olds. Considering I was a kid in the 90s that comment doesn't even sound right.

Also sorry I forgot to put the :P emoticon :/

  • @TheTKC So if the game came out in 2000, when do you think the music was composed?

Ever heard of the word 'retro'?

And I'm sure there are plenty of 12 year olds that are smarter than you, kid.

  • @shortnfine219 Duuude what the hell? I wasn't even trying to pick a fight or offend you :S Of course I know what you mean. I freakin LOVE that retro sound. Why else would I be listening to Perfect Dark music. I was there when the N64 came out. Hell I used to play Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. I love that retro arcade sound. I used to watch all those 90s shows like X-Men and Animaniacs. Far out. You don't even know me :/

  • @TheTKC Look, Im old enough to know when some snot nosed kid is trying to be a jerk.

You failed... move on. conversation over.

  • @shortnfine219 I'm 18. I'm in university. A snot nosed kid would have called you so many nasty things by now. What's wrong with you man? *slaps head*

  • @TheTKC good, you're in school.

Do me a favor? Go to one of your professors and ask him what the term 'move on' means?

    Thanks.

  • @shortnfine219

The music was released in 2000, so technically, it's not 90s music :P

  • @Zodiac11111 Hey Zodiac. The game was released in May of 2000.

So if you want to go out on a limb and say that Rare totally produced the game in less than 5 months... then you're an idiot.

Besides.. the STYLE of this song is OBVIOUSLY a style that was popular in the 90s

You may now stick your head back in the sand....Next.

  • @shortnfine219

Obviously I know that but technically, the game and the OST were released in 2000. So in style, the song maybe in the 90s, but date wise it was the beginning of a line of kickass video game osts of the 21st century.

  • @shortnfine219 Yea join the club

  • @shortnfine219 I'm afraid this game was released in 2000.

  • @filou13 And I'm afraid you completely missed the point of what I posted.

Don't worry.. the smart people got it.

  • @shortnfine219 Now there's no need to get offensive.

I don't remember taking part in this conversation, And I don't really want to read it again, Really...

  • @filou13 If you don't remember taking part in conversations you started, then don't drink and post.

    It makes you seem idiotic.

  • @shortnfine219

    funny thing is..

    dis game came out 2000:)

ps Yes i know you probably dont remember this post

  • @indiebeetz I do remember this post... because I keep getting replies from people like you that have NO FRICKING IDEA what 'context' means nor apprently what music sounded like in the 90's.

  • @shortnfine219 This game came out in mid-2000... Idiot.

  • @MegaGofuckurself .... you know what to do.

  • @shortnfine219 Hahaha. I was thinkin' the same thing.

  • I had more fun with the bots on this game than I ever will with FPS players of today. Faggots everywhere. You could always count on bots to play fair.

    I miss this game.

  • @Colyo62 "Play fair", I wouldn't consider those Darksims fair, they ran backwards faster than anyone could, shooting at you, without hitting the walls, even opening doors with their backs, I could win them in score with tactics, but hell, I can't run backwards that well. xD

  • @Colyo62 Hehe, play fair, eh? Now, I will definitely agree that they were a ton of fun to fight against, especially with a fellow friend to cuss out that Mr. Blonde who just capped your ass in a challenge, but fair? Eh, somehow fair and instantly spawning with shields, every single gun, hyper reflexes and the ability to headshot with a magnum from a klick away just don't seem compatible...ah, Dark Sims..good times.

  • @Colyo62 its like $12 new on amazon.com =D i might get it again!! hahaha

  • @Colyo62 Try Goldeneye : Source.

    You won't be dissapointed.

  • @Colyo62 lol sadly thats true lol and yeah the botting program in its time for the n64 verson was KICKASS ! ...but agreed lol good point

  • @Colyo62 You couldn't always count on the bots to play fair; Darksims were inhumanly good, they could fire weapons like the magnum much faster than we could. Not to mention they had perfect aim with most guns while running at top speed so they could collect every single weapon and ammo box on the entire level.

Great track, one of my faves from PD.

  • @Kid0Lover Man I hated the Darksims. you could pretty much put them on a team by themselves and put your self on a team with a Speedsim and a Perfect sim and they could still kick all of your asses. LOL.

  • @HaloandMetroid the most fun i had with darksims was putting 6-8 on one team, against me, with only shotguns. Most fun on the facility/felicity, one-hit-kills was fun too.

The darksims really suck with shotties, they'd run up to you, stop and stand still, and they'd just swing their gun back and forth while firing, like they weren't capable of pointing it directly at you :D They also never used the double-blast option...

  • @Colyo62 I loved the bots, but DarkSims playings fair....well, I suppose so if you count being autoturrets on cocaine with instant shields and every weapon on the level....man, now I'm getting nostalgic.

  • @IVIaedhros Lmfao I know

  • @Colyo62 lool so true!!

  • @Colyo62 I like that you can disarm the bots and that sometimes they take their hands up, unlike todays where they charge at you even without weapons. No real persons cares that little about their lives.

  • @Colyo62 You call Darksims using a Golden Magnum like a submachinegun fair? ;)

  • @Colyo62 I agree up until your fighting a perfect bot that is. they made it nearly impossible to win for me anyways or maybe I just really suck lol

  • @Colyo62 Hell yeah! Cheers to that! The bots in this game were top notch. I'm still baffled as to how good they were to this day. No other fps has made a game where you can give commands to your ai partners, and have them follow it to a T. Most games AI nowadays pretty much sucks, save for maybe Uncharted's. And even then, they just don't die. The bots in PD were badasses all the way. Tell them to target a character, and they did for th whole game. Loved pitting 4 bots on one Dark or VengeSim.

  • @Colyo62 You rep Perfect Dark, but use "faggots"? Fuck outta here.

  • @Colyo62 I don''t exactly recall the darksims playing fairly. Those things could open doors without even needing to look at them!

  • @Colyo62 my only complaint was the dizzyness factor to this game.

and a bot with a SuperDragon spamming the gernades.

  • @Shishizurui LOL YES!

  • @Colyo62 bots prepared you for challenge. You cant see through the particle effect clusterfuck that is a smoke grenade or the nonsolid tree texture... but they could. And they allready had their rifles pointed in your direction

  • @tsunaxakari your own damn fault for turning on smoke/n-bombs

  • Awesome. Love this game!

  • Out of 198 people so far only two disliked it. Either that says something about how awesome this game is or those 2 peeps are just asshats.

  • Pure gold

  • I wish i could say I made this piece of music

  • @123you876 Yeah!

  • The best soundtrack of the game with: Skedar Ruins Battle Shrine / Air base espionage / Datadyne central defection and Chicago Stealth !

  • @jul75018 Didn't you forget credits/main theme? But I agree

  • David Clynick - Alien Conflict (Only soundtrack he made for this game... Thank you for this theme David!)

Graeme Norgate - Datadyne Central: Defection, Area 51: Escape

Grant Kirkhope - The rest of the soundtracks!

Thank you all for the epic themes! You will be missed!

  • @Ultralisk27 :O

I thought it was all Kirkhope. Anyway, he's the best.

  • @PerfectWalecsDark Haha, I have to agree. Grant Kirkhope is number 1 on my list. I just can't stop listening to his soundtracks, their too epic!

  • @Ultralisk27 sure! I love also Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie and Viva Pinata soundtracks.

  • damnz i have pd on the xbox 360 i play it everyday i miss the old days back in 2000 with mates playing all the night long,i play this game in 2010 i miss the past of good times thats the reason that i play this game

  • I miss this track thank 4 the upload:)

  • i think this is pretty relaxing.try it when u wanna take a nap :)

  • la mejor musica en todo el juego bueno despues el de gs building x

  • Best song on the entire game... I used to play deathmatch with bots for hours at a time with this song looped... I'm so happy I found this song again. I love it.

  • Gives me a chilly feeling, I love it

  • cuantos recuerdos!"!!!!!!!

  • who created the perfect dark theme songs

  • @dragonwarrior124 i believe it was Grant Kirkhope the same person who did the Goldeneye Soundtrack for the n64

  • @sikesMr ok thankyou

  • @dragonwarrior124 The best composer ever, Grant Kirkhope, visit his official web site and send him an email, he replied my messages!!!

  • yay i love to indian step/hp twist to this song

  • Ahh, how it is to be 6 years old again. I picked this up at a local flea market one day with my brother. Best deal I've ever made in my life. 10 years later and now I'm playing it on the Xbox 360. Perfect Dark is Forever!

  • where do i find these songs

  • This alone makes me want to play Perfect Dark again.

  • Awesome track, and my fave from the entire game.

  • @Davidovar34 aaaah, yeah. those funky drums are awesome... and the rest of the track of course :D

  • In the day before COD, before Halo, before GoW..there was Perfect Dark. It was ONLY 10 years ago.. how far we've come..

  • @starbond6 I know right. Back in the day it was this game, Quake, and Quake 2

  • @starbond6 to be fair, CoD was 7 years ago, it's not like they're that far apart. The thing that makes Perfect Dark (and golden eye) such great shooters is that they overcame the weaknesses of the console perfectly. Not only that, with a legendary developer like Rare how could they go wrong? Amazing game then, and now.

Sadly, Microsoft has destroyed Rare and made them equivalent to spit on the ground compared to their old selves, but oh well, thats expected of M$.

  • Hey don't hate Lecrew88. Halo CE is the game even though I hated 2 and 3. this game was the da stuff though. Man i remember fighting the skedar leader when i was like 10 years old. he was a pain in the a** This game was awesome. Actually i still have it. MY N64 and controllers don't work though. Bummer *sigh* Shooting elvis and skedar.
