This part is my favourite, also I love scene with that thing created by a jacket and broom. :) If I made a mistake, sorry. I come from Poland and I saw Escape to/Return from 2 days ago and I just love Tony! :]
@bramkiPES6 LOL!! You think so? I'm sure a lot of people like her, but ever since I was little I thought she was creepy and scary looking!! I guess I like things that other people don't too!! Merry Christmas!!
It didn't hit me until now- The Leave it to Beaver theme is the same as the Monty Python song. Reason I mentioned that is because it sounds like what he plays here
The puppets were designed and built by Bob Baker in downtown Los Angeles. Many of those marionettes still perform each year and his shows have been featured in Los Angeles for over 50 years. Bob is celebrating a 86 birthday and you should see his shows at the wonderful theater located near Echo Park on first st.
@treslunas You mean the girl who played Tia? She had a cameo in the remake Race to Witch Mountain. She was the waitress who helped the kids escape the restaurant when the bad guys came. She had some help. The sheriff who stalled them was none other than the one who played Tony in the original.
this scene always creeped me out. I mean they are puppets and being controlled by a harmonica!! How can that not give young children nightmares!?!?!?! Especially that freaky clown *shudders*
I use to watch this every year I went to visit my Aunt (she had it, I didn't) and I stopped going around the age of ten. I'm twenty now, and rented Escape to Witch Mountain a week ago, I saw this scene and heard the music. It was like I'd never forgotten it. I felt like I'd had the tune playing in my head the entire ten years. It was so crazy!! lol. I love this scene.
Woo-hoo! Go Tia! Go Tony! Go Escape To Witch Mountain! Go Winky! Go Jason! Go Uncle Bene! Go Return From Witch Mountain! Go Alfred! Go Earthquakes! Go Mr. Yokamoto! Can't wait till I see the next one! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Despite some mild mischief, Tia & Tony are two children any parents would love to have. They are really good kids who get along with each other and respectful of adults, even the ones that are trying to do them harm. Also, as you can see from this classic scene, the kids don't make the puppets do anything obnoxious....just dance!!
classic disney at its best, i recall thi s on wonderfull world of disney, saturday nights, curatins closed popcorn, my fave disney movie , thi s is a classic scene im confused however, the kids were suppose d to be aliens why was it called escape to witch mountain they were not witches , top notch cast, cant wait for the remake,
it's also called witch mountain because people in the city sensed some strange things from the mountain since the arrival of alien survivors from the crash. Basically, it was the people who named the mountain.
Anyone else cringe at the thought of the recent remake of this movie?

I always hated the part when she put her fingers in the creepy bird's mouth.
EdGringo78 3 months ago
@EdGringo78 the bird reminds of what Carol Brady wore in the Brady Bunch series when they were dancing the Charleston in their living room.

@EdGringo78 That bird is adorable! :)

I can't believe Disney is remaking this classic! They'll completely ruin some of their own best work.

ragingteddybears: it's NOT a remake - it's RACE to Witch Mountain - the story can continue - duh!

The mountain was known to humans as witch mountain too. it was only a meeting place for the kids to meet their uncle.
