Professor of Education, that is scary. Its easy to see how the baby boom radical/liberal academics have succeeded is creating a terrible education system in the richest country on earth. I hope Obama is smart enough to recognize a self justifying egomaniac when he sees one. How many people died in southeast Asia after we left, several million. That's the side he was on.
Bill Ayers is right about one thing: we haven't done enough regarding "these wars." For example, why haven't we done enough with Al Qaeda, why is Bin Laden still not caught? It's because Bush has ties with his family, so why would he want to kill their son?
October 20, 1981 Black Liberation Army group robbed a Brinks armored truck containing $1.6 million. The robbery turned violent, resulting in the murders of two police officers and a security guard. Boudin, Clark, and Gilbert were found guilty and sentenced to lengthy terms in prison, considered the last gasps of the Weather Underground. Ayers and Dohrn later became legal guardians to the son of Boudin and Gilbert.

Also he sat in a room full with kids and waited 7 minutes which was after the planes had already done their damages. It's a neighborly day in this beautywood, A neighborly day for a beauty, Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Or I will Bomb you sometime.
Bill Ayers is a big shame to America he should just move to a communist country where his views will actually make a difference. It is sad to see that he lost one of his girlfriends in one of the bombings which is sad because she died in vain. Bill Ayers doesnt want to help America he wants to tear it down.
What Ayers did happened over 40 years ago when he was very young. He was passionate about his country, civil rights, & against slaughtering innocent people. He was guilty of expensive vandalism but he's not the same person, nor has he done anything for the past 40 yrs. The work Ayers has done with the Annenberg charity has been worthy of great notice. He's done a lot for education, charities & the justice system. With that said, Chicago would be worse off without him.
When you feel that you have right on your side, doing horrific, illegal, deadly things does not make it right. He headed the Weather Underground. He participated in bombings, lives were affected, hundreds of thousands of dollars' of damage was done. Weatherman member Ted Gold, Ayers' close friend Terry Robbins, and Ayers' girlfriend, Diana Oughton were killed when a nail bomb they were assembling exploded.
Bush illegally declared war against Iraq, has murdered 1.2M innocent Iraqis, mostly children by bombings, lives were affected, billions in damage. Yet, I don't hear anyone complaining about that. Just complaining about what a very young man did over 40 yrs because he was passionately against the same type of war, slaughter of innocents, and was an activist for civil rights. Bush has been getting away with it for 6 years, and for the life of me, I can't understand why Americans have ignored it.

I should not be surprised by the fact that some of you goons are defending Ayers, but I am. This moron should be in jail not on tv peddling his book. From reading some of your comments I think maybe the Mayans are right. The world must be coming to an end soon (2012)
Bill Ayers seems very reasonable. Not like a radical at all. He never killed anyone and he does have a point: The US Government is guilty of the murder of millions of innocent vietnamese. Thats the real issue.
rebelclown:You've picked the perfect screen name;hopefully, you'll be the victim of a bomb sometime your life;I'm sure there will be "bigger issues" than just your fate at that point too.
@rebelclown Ok, answer this question. Did the Vietnamese, the Soviets, the Khmer Rouge, the Chinese Communists, etc. also kill millions? It's a yes or no answer. That's it. Do not try to start a discussion.

JessieVandie How is the interviewer biased;maybe biased against double talkers;do you have an "unbiased" open minded view toward unrepentant bombers? If you do,then you should have been in the towers on 9/11.
That interviewer was prosecuting him, not interviewing him. Watch again and watch how he asked the questions and then how he responded to Ayers' answers.
jv he got more courtesy than he deserved;jeez,I know it's been a few years since 911,but how can there be so many Americans willing to rationalize terrorism?
Well, if you had seen your family blown to bits in front of you each day in the war, you may have felt that blowing up a building without actually killing anyone was justified. How can so many Americans be willing to rationalize terrorism that our military is committing on several other countries every day while we kill innocent people in droves? I'll take a broken building over massive genocide any day.
great Jessie. Why don't you start attacking military bases around our country if you actually believe that. Then, when you're put on jail for treason (and of course, later pardoned by Barack Obama), you can say you did all you could. By the way, terrorists specifically attack innocents. Our military doesn't do that, but Ayers and the Weather Underground did--they killed two cops.
Incorrect data. Bill Ayers never killed anyone. Other correction, our military has often attacked innocents . . . just as all soldiers inevitably do. Read a little.
jessievandie Look up genocide in the dictionary before you start throwing it around,OK? Maybe watch a documentary on the holocaust or Rawanda;by the way, maybe your perspective will change when you get blown up at the post office mailing a letter by some nitwit like Ayers who thinks bombing is a great method of social change.
Genocide: the systematic murder of an entire political, cultural, or religious group. Sounds a lot like what we're doing right now in Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, etc and a lot like what we did in Vietnam. I swear, Americans are really so brainwashed that they think that if it's US that is massively decimating entire countries and populations, it's not murder or genocide or terrorism, but if someone disagrees with us, even if no one is hurt, they are terrorists. Wake up.
Muslims, middle easterners, those that have oil, etc... whatever you want to call it. The point is that we pick a country that we want to go a certain way and bomb them until they do. Notice how we barely get involved in Congo or Darfur. We get involved in conflicts that pay. We don't care about the people, we care about what they have and what we can get. We'll kill every last one of them to "liberate" them, too.
JessieVandie:Ever hear of Kosovo,or Somalia? The point is you use incorrect terminology that you don't understand;your perspective is as deep as protest sign;and you call other people brainwashed;you seem to demonize US soldiers to the extent I have a hard time believing you'd support the military going anywhere.;if the US did go to the Congo,I'll bet you'd hold a sign saying "No Blood for Diamonds".
jessievandie Yeah,I can tell you have a high opinion of the US military;what word would you use to describe the thousands of Iraqis killed by Hussein in his prisons every year? The Iraqis weren't so afraid of genocide that they didn't vote in numbers of over 80% in their post Saddam elections;gee, maybe the truth is a little more complicated than a protest slogan.
Ithom:I'd want to know where you got your figures;I'd also like to know weather those figures are Iraqis directly killed by Americans;I'm not saying Iraq wasn't a botched situation;but if you consider the thousands of political prisoners killed by Hussein every year, eventually you'd get to the same figure;with NO HOPE of things ever changing.ever. I don't think the critics really don't care about Iraqis at all.
Civilian deaths alone have been documented at 80-100,000. Reported US soldier deaths are above 4100. The total estimate of deaths is hundreds of thousands or even a million.
Of course, those are numbers and are easy for you to ignore, briscoe. But, think harder about them so that you can realize what they really mean.
So you're telling me that 900,000 deaths in Iraq are "undocumented"? Sorry to be as skeptical about your figures as your terminology, but I am;and, again,I'm sorry for a lack of civility in this discussion, but if the US is guilty of genocide, then the US military is on a par with the Nazis;that pushes my hot button;and do you think it would be a better world if the Taliban still ran Afghanistan and Hussein still ran Iraq? Finally, why do you want to send our Genocidal maniacs to Darfur and the Congo?
I checked multiple sources and that was what I came up with. Let's say, for argument's sake, only 100 died. How is that relevant? 100 people still died for a lie in which no one benefited! Not even us! I don't know why this is difficult for you to understand, but let me spell it out for you...
Our country was founded voluntarily. We raped the native people of their land and other things and then created a country where women were second class citizens, blacks were slaves, and so on. HUNDREDS of years later, women were more equal as well as blacks but racism and sexism are still rampant. HOW ON EARTH could anyone in his right mind think that we could do turn a country that DIDN'T volunteer into us in a couple of years? If you think this war was justified, you need to revisit history.
HNWOj_dFSR4 The Lancet published an estimate of 650,000 excess deaths in Iraq in 2006 in the medical journal. From the beginning of the war to 10/22/08 the number of civilian deaths by violence is listed as 88,952-97,094 (Iraq Body Count). Google "Saddam Hussein Killer File" for a history. Not one terrorist on 9/11 was from Iraq. 15 were Saudis.
No, you missed my point. 15 of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, 2 from the United Arab Emirates, 1 from Egypt, & 1 from Lebanon. Not 1 Iraqi, nor was there any links between Hussein & Al-Qaeda. Bush lied to the UN & the American people for reasons of war. You can't defend or excuse this fact, which is evil beyond to compare. I never thought I would see the day where my country killed & tortured innocent people by the groves without reason.
You care about your country;so do I;there was an investigation into the decision for the q war and it didn't come to the conclusion that the administration lied; it believed what it wanted to believe;that's an intelligence interpertation problem; there was also a climate of fear at the White House;the 1%doctrine;if a perceived threat had even a 1% chance of being true,it was to be acted upon;that's not evil;that's a fear based policy; an extreme caused by 911;the pendulum is swinging back.
After 9/11, Bush & top officials of his admin waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Hussein's Iraq. They stated unequivocally in the media that Iraq had WMD (or was trying to produce or obtain them), links to Al Qaeda, or both. It's now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any WMD or have meaningful ties to Al Qaeda. Bush led the nation to war on the basis of false info that it methodically propagated & culminated in military action against Iraq
Well first off, 9/11 and Iraq have nothing to do with each other.
Secondly, if you believe that Osama is not happy with the way we handled things then you are mistaken. Not only did we give him a counterstrike (which is what he wantedfrom us), we did it on the wrong country AND turned many of our allies against us and we used SO many resources only to fail. Simple divide and conquer. We're letting him win.
"Evil beyond compare"no,I think in the vast history of man, there has been greater evil;Hussein comes to mind;Hitler,Stalin,Pol Pot,and that's just the 20th century;you haven't provided any evidence of lying;some of the best intelligence agencies in the world thought he had them;a report blamed Hussein himself;he WANTED OTHER COUNTRIES TO BELIEVE HE HAD THEM,as a deterrent.Hussein also used terrorists to go after Kurdish leadership in the north.
Bush lied & 1.2M Iraqis are dead, 4M are displaced. He placed our troops in harms way, over 4,000 dead over 30,000 wounded. Coalition # is over 4,000. He has removed our rights & freedoms, he has signed for torturing innocent people which includes US citizens, the Bush Doctrines, corruption, etc. You should at least include his name in your list! All know Bush is a liar! It is one thing to tell enemies you have weapons but it is another to know he didn't have weapons & attack Iraq anyway.
Nessievandie I didn't say Hussein killing thousands of political prisoners was Genocide;I asked you what you would call it;but, considering your attitude,I have the answer:You'd call it:ACCEPTABLE.
Hussein was evil, but in the Middle East killing people who are trying to kill a leader is considered legal. Their laws are different from our own & it's not right to attempt to shove democracy down their throats (never will happen)after thousands of yrs. What we did was immoral & illegal. It's a fact there were no WMD, verified by our military, S. Ritter, CIA & Wilson. Bush said we were "liberators" when in fact we're occupiers. Since, Bush gives no more excuses for his own senseless killings.
ithom "in the Middle East, killing people who are trying to kill a leader is considered legal" gee,I'm glad that's the only people Hussein ever killed.;democracy has already happenned in Iraq;millions turned out to vote, disregarding threats of violence from insurgents and Al Queda thugs;what does that say about democracy in the Middle East.I can;t think of anything more condescending or borderline racist than that middle easterners won't appreciate democracy.
Who is Bush to force Muslims to become a democracy? Who anointed him? No one can change the way of life lived nearly 1000 yrs. There will never be democracy in Iraq, not ever. As soon as we pull out, Iran will pull their own cleansing in Iraq. The only thing Bush has done is throw a rock in a hornet's nest. When he captured Hussein, he removed peace (control) from hostile neighbors & he made terrorists. We should have been in Afghanistan not in Iraq.
Yes you did. Direct quote: "...what word would you use to describe the thousands of Iraqis killed by Hussein in his prisons every year? The Iraqis weren't so afraid of GENOCIDE that they didn't vote in numbers of over 80% in their post Saddam..." Keep tossing insults there, buddy. You're the one who can't even keep track of what he's saying... while you defend war. Shame shame shame...
Gee,you come so close to being right.I should have said"the Iraqis weren't so afraid of U.S. genocide";you see,by that time,AGAIN;HUSSEIN'S GOVERNMENT WAS GONE!,so why would I be referencing it?
I am sorry you have trouble getting your point across, but it's not my problem. Either way, you really do believe the US propaganda machine don't you? You see something on TV, like Bush's press conferences where there is a coincidence of everyone saying "Hey we love you" and think that's the whole story. I am sorry to hear that. You really need to learn to be less trustworthy of your government.
JesVan There is plenty of propaganda to go around,on both sides;you sound like you swallow whole everything you hear from the far left crowd;the media HATES bush;and loves ratings;if there's bad news in Iraq, they'll find it;but you haven't seen much Iraq news lately, have you?I have no problem getting my point across to people with decent comprehension and reading skills;I've voted Democratic the last 4 elections, but I hate people on both sides that oversimplify and use dishonest arguments.
Would it make more sense to you if I told you I was not a democrat and that I dislike Bush because he's a war-mongering, fascist asshole not because liberals do? I have spoken out against liberals as well. This war was bull shit. Even the right-wingers know it.
Yeah,I think I've found common ground with you, too;but I think the war was bullshit for different reasons, relating to fear based foreign policy.:I don't buy the US as genociders of the world;;if you'd like to see a US military decline, imagine all the wonderful, altruistic forces that would fill the void; imagine an axis of China(which keeps vetoing action on Darfur in the UN) and Russia(poisoning of non citizen dissidents);or maybe Middle eastern values dominating;great values all.
Thanks, I got an A in that class. What we are doing is genocide. And even if it wasn't, the fact that that is your only defense shows a lot.
"Well sure we are massively murdering people, destroying their country, with little regard to human life, but it's not genocide. Look in the dictionary!"
So yeah, I hope you never have to see your family and friends blown to bits or be a victim of one of many other activities... even though that's the only way you'd learn.
Jessie vandie I hope you never get to see your relatives die in an acid bath,or get charged for the bullet that executed them;again, that was Iraqi reality.Forever.But you REALLY care about them. Words matter;if America is committing Genocide, then obviously, you think of the soldiers there as the S.S.and you want to send those murderers to the Congo and Darfur?
I never said Iraq was an awesome country and never said that they had a decent law system. I said that us bombing them and killing more innocent people didn't help anything and made things worse. That can be seen by the continuously risin death count and the fact that the plan is plain irrational to think we could turn them into us in 5 years. You have yet to show any evidence to the contrary.
The surge has worked.Even Obama concedes that;if he doesn't fuck it up,Iraq will be a much better place;Iraq has stabilized;you can tell by the fact it's so rarely in the news anymore;only bad news sells;I wasn't in favor of the war;I thought it was a horrific mistake;but there are brave US soldiers over there trying to make the best of a bad decision;. I also respect protesters, but not nitwits planting bombs in buildings, and those that slander US troops.
The surge was to use 30,000 additional troops to bring peace (which it did) in order for the Iraqis to form their own government & legislation, & to secure their own country. However the Iraqis did not form their own government and it was the reason Obama wants a timeline for them to get their act together. Stupid Bush adopted Obama's planned timeline after he & GOP attacked him for it. They're bumbling idiots.

mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Thanks for that, because I love our boys & have family members who have served the country since the Civil War (although Confederates!). I want our troops home, and new deployments into Afghanistan where we should have been all along.

If you do,then you should have been in the towers on 9/11.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
That interviewer was prosecuting him, not interviewing him. Watch again and watch how he asked the questions and then how he responded to Ayers' answers.
JessieVandie 3 years ago 3
jv he got more courtesy than he deserved;jeez,I know it's been a few years since 911,but how can there be so many Americans willing to rationalize terrorism?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Well, if you had seen your family blown to bits in front of you each day in the war, you may have felt that blowing up a building without actually killing anyone was justified. How can so many Americans be willing to rationalize terrorism that our military is committing on several other countries every day while we kill innocent people in droves? I'll take a broken building over massive genocide any day.
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
great Jessie. Why don't you start attacking military bases around our country if you actually believe that. Then, when you're put on jail for treason (and of course, later pardoned by Barack Obama), you can say you did all you could. By the way, terrorists specifically attack innocents. Our military doesn't do that, but Ayers and the Weather Underground did--they killed two cops.
sosdios 3 years ago
Incorrect data. Bill Ayers never killed anyone. Other correction, our military has often attacked innocents . . . just as all soldiers inevitably do. Read a little.
TruthAdddict 3 years ago
jessievandie Look up genocide in the dictionary before you start throwing it around,OK? Maybe watch a documentary on the holocaust or Rawanda;by the way, maybe your perspective will change when you get blown up at the post office mailing a letter by some nitwit like Ayers who thinks bombing is a great method of social change.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Genocide: the systematic murder of an entire political, cultural, or religious group. Sounds a lot like what we're doing right now in Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, etc and a lot like what we did in Vietnam. I swear, Americans are really so brainwashed that they think that if it's US that is massively decimating entire countries and populations, it's not murder or genocide or terrorism, but if someone disagrees with us, even if no one is hurt, they are terrorists. Wake up.
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
Ok,Jess What is the entire political, cultural or religious group we're murdering in any of those countries?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Muslims, middle easterners, those that have oil, etc... whatever you want to call it. The point is that we pick a country that we want to go a certain way and bomb them until they do. Notice how we barely get involved in Congo or Darfur. We get involved in conflicts that pay. We don't care about the people, we care about what they have and what we can get. We'll kill every last one of them to "liberate" them, too.
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
JessieVandie:Ever hear of Kosovo,or Somalia? The point is you use incorrect terminology that you don't understand;your perspective is as deep as protest sign;and you call other people brainwashed;you seem to demonize US soldiers to the extent I have a hard time believing you'd support the military going anywhere.;if the US did go to the Congo,I'll bet you'd hold a sign saying "No Blood for Diamonds".
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
I am sure that if you lived in Iraq right now, you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the terminology.
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
jessievandie Yeah,I can tell you have a high opinion of the US military;what word would you use to describe the thousands of Iraqis killed by Hussein in his prisons every year? The Iraqis weren't so afraid of genocide that they didn't vote in numbers of over 80% in their post Saddam elections;gee, maybe the truth is a little more complicated than a protest slogan.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
How would you described the merciless slaughter of 1.2M innocent Iraqis because of lies told by Bush and his administration?
lthom33 3 years ago
Ithom:I'd want to know where you got your figures;I'd also like to know weather those figures are Iraqis directly killed by Americans;I'm not saying Iraq wasn't a botched situation;but if you consider the thousands of political prisoners killed by Hussein every year, eventually you'd get to the same figure;with NO HOPE of things ever changing.ever. I don't think the critics really don't care about Iraqis at all.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Civilian deaths alone have been documented at 80-100,000. Reported US soldier deaths are above 4100. The total estimate of deaths is hundreds of thousands or even a million.
Of course, those are numbers and are easy for you to ignore, briscoe. But, think harder about them so that you can realize what they really mean.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
So you're telling me that 900,000 deaths in Iraq are "undocumented"? Sorry to be as skeptical about your figures as your terminology, but I am;and, again,I'm sorry for a lack of civility in this discussion, but if the US is guilty of genocide, then the US military is on a par with the Nazis;that pushes my hot button;and do you think it would be a better world if the Taliban still ran Afghanistan and Hussein still ran Iraq? Finally, why do you want to send our Genocidal maniacs to Darfur and the Congo?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
I checked multiple sources and that was what I came up with. Let's say, for argument's sake, only 100 died. How is that relevant? 100 people still died for a lie in which no one benefited! Not even us! I don't know why this is difficult for you to understand, but let me spell it out for you...
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
Our country was founded voluntarily. We raped the native people of their land and other things and then created a country where women were second class citizens, blacks were slaves, and so on. HUNDREDS of years later, women were more equal as well as blacks but racism and sexism are still rampant. HOW ON EARTH could anyone in his right mind think that we could do turn a country that DIDN'T volunteer into us in a couple of years? If you think this war was justified, you need to revisit history.
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
Quick references on YT are: 6kA0_xV2QLs &
HNWOj_dFSR4 The Lancet published an estimate of 650,000 excess deaths in Iraq in 2006 in the medical journal. From the beginning of the war to 10/22/08 the number of civilian deaths by violence is listed as 88,952-97,094 (Iraq Body Count). Google "Saddam Hussein Killer File" for a history. Not one terrorist on 9/11 was from Iraq. 15 were Saudis.
lthom33 3 years ago 3
Ithom:So,we should invade Saudi Arabia next?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
No, you missed my point. 15 of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, 2 from the United Arab Emirates, 1 from Egypt, & 1 from Lebanon. Not 1 Iraqi, nor was there any links between Hussein & Al-Qaeda. Bush lied to the UN & the American people for reasons of war. You can't defend or excuse this fact, which is evil beyond to compare. I never thought I would see the day where my country killed & tortured innocent people by the groves without reason.
lthom33 3 years ago 7
You care about your country;so do I;there was an investigation into the decision for the q war and it didn't come to the conclusion that the administration lied; it believed what it wanted to believe;that's an intelligence interpertation problem; there was also a climate of fear at the White House;the 1%doctrine;if a perceived threat had even a 1% chance of being true,it was to be acted upon;that's not evil;that's a fear based policy; an extreme caused by 911;the pendulum is swinging back.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
After 9/11, Bush & top officials of his admin waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Hussein's Iraq. They stated unequivocally in the media that Iraq had WMD (or was trying to produce or obtain them), links to Al Qaeda, or both. It's now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any WMD or have meaningful ties to Al Qaeda. Bush led the nation to war on the basis of false info that it methodically propagated & culminated in military action against Iraq
lthom33 3 years ago
Well first off, 9/11 and Iraq have nothing to do with each other.
Secondly, if you believe that Osama is not happy with the way we handled things then you are mistaken. Not only did we give him a counterstrike (which is what he wantedfrom us), we did it on the wrong country AND turned many of our allies against us and we used SO many resources only to fail. Simple divide and conquer. We're letting him win.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
"Evil beyond compare"no,I think in the vast history of man, there has been greater evil;Hussein comes to mind;Hitler,Stalin,Pol Pot,and that's just the 20th century;you haven't provided any evidence of lying;some of the best intelligence agencies in the world thought he had them;a report blamed Hussein himself;he WANTED OTHER COUNTRIES TO BELIEVE HE HAD THEM,as a deterrent.Hussein also used terrorists to go after Kurdish leadership in the north.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Bush lied & 1.2M Iraqis are dead, 4M are displaced. He placed our troops in harms way, over 4,000 dead over 30,000 wounded. Coalition # is over 4,000. He has removed our rights & freedoms, he has signed for torturing innocent people which includes US citizens, the Bush Doctrines, corruption, etc. You should at least include his name in your list! All know Bush is a liar! It is one thing to tell enemies you have weapons but it is another to know he didn't have weapons & attack Iraq anyway.
lthom33 3 years ago
Wait, Saddam killing his people is genocide, but us bombing his people is not.. hmmmm....
JessieVandie 3 years ago
Nessievandie I didn't say Hussein killing thousands of political prisoners was Genocide;I asked you what you would call it;but, considering your attitude,I have the answer:You'd call it:ACCEPTABLE.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Hussein was evil, but in the Middle East killing people who are trying to kill a leader is considered legal. Their laws are different from our own & it's not right to attempt to shove democracy down their throats (never will happen)after thousands of yrs. What we did was immoral & illegal. It's a fact there were no WMD, verified by our military, S. Ritter, CIA & Wilson. Bush said we were "liberators" when in fact we're occupiers. Since, Bush gives no more excuses for his own senseless killings.
lthom33 3 years ago 3
ithom "in the Middle East, killing people who are trying to kill a leader is considered legal" gee,I'm glad that's the only people Hussein ever killed.;democracy has already happenned in Iraq;millions turned out to vote, disregarding threats of violence from insurgents and Al Queda thugs;what does that say about democracy in the Middle East.I can;t think of anything more condescending or borderline racist than that middle easterners won't appreciate democracy.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Who is Bush to force Muslims to become a democracy? Who anointed him? No one can change the way of life lived nearly 1000 yrs. There will never be democracy in Iraq, not ever. As soon as we pull out, Iran will pull their own cleansing in Iraq. The only thing Bush has done is throw a rock in a hornet's nest. When he captured Hussein, he removed peace (control) from hostile neighbors & he made terrorists. We should have been in Afghanistan not in Iraq.
lthom33 3 years ago
Yes you did. Direct quote: "...what word would you use to describe the thousands of Iraqis killed by Hussein in his prisons every year? The Iraqis weren't so afraid of GENOCIDE that they didn't vote in numbers of over 80% in their post Saddam..." Keep tossing insults there, buddy. You're the one who can't even keep track of what he's saying... while you defend war. Shame shame shame...
JessieVandie 3 years ago 2
Gee,you come so close to being right.I should have said"the Iraqis weren't so afraid of U.S. genocide";you see,by that time,AGAIN;HUSSEIN'S GOVERNMENT WAS GONE!,so why would I be referencing it?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
I am sorry you have trouble getting your point across, but it's not my problem. Either way, you really do believe the US propaganda machine don't you? You see something on TV, like Bush's press conferences where there is a coincidence of everyone saying "Hey we love you" and think that's the whole story. I am sorry to hear that. You really need to learn to be less trustworthy of your government.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
JesVan There is plenty of propaganda to go around,on both sides;you sound like you swallow whole everything you hear from the far left crowd;the media HATES bush;and loves ratings;if there's bad news in Iraq, they'll find it;but you haven't seen much Iraq news lately, have you?I have no problem getting my point across to people with decent comprehension and reading skills;I've voted Democratic the last 4 elections, but I hate people on both sides that oversimplify and use dishonest arguments.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Would it make more sense to you if I told you I was not a democrat and that I dislike Bush because he's a war-mongering, fascist asshole not because liberals do? I have spoken out against liberals as well. This war was bull shit. Even the right-wingers know it.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
Yeah,I think I've found common ground with you, too;but I think the war was bullshit for different reasons, relating to fear based foreign policy.:I don't buy the US as genociders of the world;;if you'd like to see a US military decline, imagine all the wonderful, altruistic forces that would fill the void; imagine an axis of China(which keeps vetoing action on Darfur in the UN) and Russia(poisoning of non citizen dissidents);or maybe Middle eastern values dominating;great values all.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
and, also,Jessie:how long have we been in Syria committing genocide?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
I guess you didn't hear about the attack two weeks ago that killed 8 or more innocent people there.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
Gotcha,Jessie: 8 people is genocide;and all those people crossing the border into Iraq had the highest motives.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Did I say 8 was genocide? I said the massive THOUSANDS that have died is genocide. Wake up.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
Again, look at the definition you wrote down;if yous till don't realize the definition doesn't fit,you need to go back to English 101.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
Thanks, I got an A in that class. What we are doing is genocide. And even if it wasn't, the fact that that is your only defense shows a lot.
"Well sure we are massively murdering people, destroying their country, with little regard to human life, but it's not genocide. Look in the dictionary!"
So yeah, I hope you never have to see your family and friends blown to bits or be a victim of one of many other activities... even though that's the only way you'd learn.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
Jessie vandie I hope you never get to see your relatives die in an acid bath,or get charged for the bullet that executed them;again, that was Iraqi reality.Forever.But you REALLY care about them. Words matter;if America is committing Genocide, then obviously, you think of the soldiers there as the S.S.and you want to send those murderers to the Congo and Darfur?
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
I never said Iraq was an awesome country and never said that they had a decent law system. I said that us bombing them and killing more innocent people didn't help anything and made things worse. That can be seen by the continuously risin death count and the fact that the plan is plain irrational to think we could turn them into us in 5 years. You have yet to show any evidence to the contrary.
JessieVandie 3 years ago
The surge has worked.Even Obama concedes that;if he doesn't fuck it up,Iraq will be a much better place;Iraq has stabilized;you can tell by the fact it's so rarely in the news anymore;only bad news sells;I wasn't in favor of the war;I thought it was a horrific mistake;but there are brave US soldiers over there trying to make the best of a bad decision;. I also respect protesters, but not nitwits planting bombs in buildings, and those that slander US troops.
mrbriscoe2001 3 years ago
The surge was to use 30,000 additional troops to bring peace (which it did) in order for the Iraqis to form their own government & legislation, & to secure their own country. However the Iraqis did not form their own government and it was the reason Obama wants a timeline for them to get their act together. Stupid Bush adopted Obama's planned timeline after he & GOP attacked him for it. They're bumbling idiots.
lthom33 3 years ago
HAHAHA Iraq is "stabilized"? Are you kidding?
