OMG REALLY??? The SP Verta pack cars are not even allowed on US rails any more. And the AUTO MAX and regular Auto Rack Cars are for automobile loading only. Now show the inside of a 89 foot box car with DODX reporting marks and loaded and I may get concerned. One problem, the longest car that the DOD has in it's fleet is 89 feet but it;'s a very flat car. The longest box car in the DOD fleet is 50 feet long.

All the filler caps ,down to the battery were made to be facing the rear of the cars as they were shipped fully filled with all fluids and enough gas for short transport. The car itself was actually one of the first mostly designed on computers to minimize the number of parts and amount of steel pressings. It was quite a feat, but too much bean counting was it's undoing in the end. Typical of GM.
