Following Sharia is most definitely o.k. And it is a fundamental part of Islam. You are right to say that stoning for adultery isn't in the Qur'an. But there is a surah that I can't remember at this time (I'm still searching for it) That says, the laws of the prophets before Muhammad are our laws to follow. The law for stoning adulterers is in the Torah and old Testament. And it still stands.

The weak Hadith are not to be followed b/c the narrators were unreliable. The strong Hadiths came from reliable sources such as Muhammad's (saws) wives and closest companions. As well as Muhammad(saws) himself.

People who do that are taking their example from the Old testament. There is absolutely NO permission, nor encouragement in the Qur'an for stoning anyone. As a matter of fact, the only people mentioned in the Qur'an who resorted to stoning were evil people, not the righteous. Stoning has as much to do with Islam as the east has with the west - poles apart.
@MrIhateislam100 That's a valid question. Sharia is SAID to be based upon the Qur'an, but it is not. Sharia is largely culturally based. There is no sanction in the Qu'ran for stoning or hanging. It isn't in there. As a matter of fact, the only mention of stoning in the Qur'an pertains to unrighteous people and their way of dealing with the righteous. I have studied Qur'an and it gives no permission nor suggestions on using those methods. Like I said - it's cultural.

What it is saying in this verse is: If the unbelievers are unable to believe what Allah says in the Qura'n, then what else will they believe in other than it? That's what it means. HADITHIM means statement or words, and not the Hadith of or Prophet which would be pronounced as Hadith singular or Ahdith for plural. You misunderstood this verse. That's all. ;)

But there is a surah that I can't remember at this time (I'm still searching for it) That says, the laws of the prophets before Muhammad are our laws to follow. The law for stoning adulterers is in the Torah and old Testament. And it still stands.

@Gutsukyo The Quran also says that there were laws of past scriptures that God chose to abrogate; it also says that Quran is easy understand, easy to follow, and that it is complete with NOTHING that was left out as far as matters of faith are concerned. The weak Hadith are not to be followed b/c the narrators were unreliable. The strong Hadiths came from reliable sources such as Muhammad's (saws) wives and closest companions. People who do that are taking their example from the Old testament. There is absolutely NO permission, nor encouragement in the Qur'an for stoning anyone. As a matter of fact, the only people mentioned in the Qur'an who resorted to stoning were evil people, not the righteous. Stoning has as much to do with Islam as the east has with the west - poles apart.

@MrIhateislam100 That's a valid question. Sharia is SAID to be based upon the Qur'an, but it is not. Sharia is largely culturally based. There is no sanction in the Qu'ran for stoning or hanging. It isn't in there. As a matter of fact, the only mention of stoning in the Qur'an pertains to unrighteous people and their way of dealing with the righteous. I have studied Qur'an and it gives no permission nor suggestions on using those methods. Like I said - it's cultural.

Update: Seems that this particular "brand" of islam is called "wahabi" - it's the most fundamental. If muslims belong to that ..branch..they are 100% dangerous.

The only verses in the Qur'an that even mentions stoning pertains to unrighteous people stoning the righteous such as when Abraham's father threatened him with stoning for worshiping One God rather than the various gods they were used to. Wahabis do not follow the Qur'an, they follow ahaddith, which IS dangerous. It isn't Islam as a whole that is a problem, it's those who want to follow made up rulings and CALL it Islam. I think I see your point there.
