It's sad that Vatican Council said that "Yahweh" is no not allowed in hymns of worship in churches. The composer of this hymn changed the "Yahweh" part to "O Lord I know you are near".
I was disappointed as well because I am a cantor in the church. I love this song so much and Strong and Constant has ''Yahweh' as well. The parish musician advised me - it's because of the Jewish/ Dominican tradition. At the back of my head, I was thinking- we are here to Praise the Lord, why this man-made rules?

Thank you for posting this video, while I am saddened that the the hymn can no longer be sung as it was written I understand and support the reasoning behind the recent decision to refrain from pronouncing YHWH in a liturgical setting. After all the name of God is sacred and should not be invoked lightly.

It's sad that Vatican Council said that "Yahweh" is no not allowed in hymns of worship in churches. The composer of this hymn changed the "Yahweh" part to "O Lord I know you are near".

I was disappointed as well because I am a cantor in the church. I love this song so much and Strong and Constant has ''Yahweh' as well. The parish musician advised me - it's because of the Jewish/ Dominican tradition. At the back of my head, I was thinking- we are here to Praise the Lord, why this man-made rules?

millions of catholics actually claim that Mary is Yahushua co-redeemer, that is disgusting and blasphemous! Mary was not there when the Heavens and the Earth were created, she was a good woman whome God chose yes, but she lived a normal life of a good Jewish girl back in those days, and it says in scripture Yahushua would be born of the lineage of David , and Mary was from the lineage of David! First of all example 1....Why would the book of hebrew be written in greek to hebrew people? why would any of it be written in Greek? That makes no sense, it is not a fact at all! Mary did not remain a virgin. After Yahushua was virgin born through a miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit of God, Mary and Joseph married and had many children (Matthew 12:46-47; 13:55-56). Mary and Joseph took Yahushua to Jerusalem when He was 12 (Luke 2:42). Why would Joseph be present if he weren't Mary's husband? Mary did not remain a virgin!
Read what Mary said about Yahushua in Luke 1:47, "And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour."

The word "first" was often used for things that were "the ONLY ones" and nothing came after them. The Greek word "eos" is translated as "until", but in fact it is used throughout the Bible meaning "it did not happen until this time and neither did it happen after." "Until" is a mis-translation.

A person being called Brother would be a cousin of another relative that was the custum at the time, and Mary was born free of original sin. However I come to know that we should only be serving God and Him alone. Mary is a fine woman however we shouldn't be praising her. Jesus Christ , our Lord, Our Saviour, our Redeemer, our God, should only be the one to be Exalted for He died for me and you on Calvary. By the way the Song is a blessing. My other cousin drove 4 hours to come home. It was so hard on all of us grandkids. He had 7 of us who loved him so much. Megan (22) Andrew (22) Kayla (20) (he actually died on Kayla's birthday, it was her 20th, Me (19) Rachel (16) Brenden (8) and Maggie (5) He was the BEST. I too am sorry for the loss of your grandpa.

Yahweh isn't God's name. Yehovah is older then Yahweh. When the people came to america, they thought The Jehovahs witnesses stole God's name, so they changed it to "Yahweh". Yehovah goes back to the 7th and 8th Centuries and Yahweh goes back only 200 years. We don't know God's name, alls we know is "YAH", but not the last pronounciation of it. But like I said, Yehovah would be the oldest and closet to his name.

In the language that The Holy Bible was written, over 4000 years ago, the vowels were not written. So God's name consists of the four consonents YHVH and the vowels/pronunciation depend on which vowels you use and how many. "Yah" is only a short form of Yahveh, as in "Halleluyah" which translates as "praise Yahveh".

Ermm well to correct you on this front, it wasn;t Hebrew it was actually Greek, which translated means, he who sits on high, or on the mountain, which in Roman refered to Jupiter or Zeus.

I beg to differ, since the tetragrammaton YHVH occurs first in the old testament written in Hebrew. The new testament was originally written in Greek.

It's clear you haveno idea what I'm talking about, and due largley to your denial. YHW was but one of many gods on the mountain that you don't want to accept are clearly mentioned int eh Bible and confirmed in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

On the contrary, I know exactly what you are talking about. I do not deny at all that many FALSE gods are mentioned in the Bible along with the one true and living God, Yahveh, who said, "I am one and there is no other". Any other gods, ghosts, and goblins are fabrications of Satan used to distract and confuse and prevent us from knowing the truth about God. BTW, there is a reason they call it Greek MYTHology.
