Sure he isn't the most flashy drummer, but he is extremely solid, grooves like nobody's buisness, and does use of tons of intricate little fills on the hi-hat and toms. Listen closely to some of their records.

@FullZirkel They have drums/bass/guitar/synth/vocals­ just like DD. seems to me they have just played up the bass in this and changed it and also added some jamming at the start. Also, the DD version live is pretty strong cuz you can really hear the guitars which tended to get lost behind the synths on the recordings. not sure if you've heard DD play this live but have a listen and compare that to this, not to DD album version. all album versions sound somewhat perfect and safe compared to live.

The bass on this version is sick, and Incubus is just organically less poppy than DD. That said, there were some stand-outs for DD, particularly the set at Tower Records.
