@Nisse73 Lend lease shortened the war but it didn't win it. The Germans pretty much lost their chance of winning the war in late 1941 when their forces were halted near Moscow and pushed back and this was before the USSR received large amounts of aid, they had received some aid by then but not enough for it to play a decisive role. The Germans never planned or prepared for a long war in the east, it was supposed to be won in a matter of months but instead it became a long war of attrition.

Hey wait... swedish soldiers in Afghanistan have killed people last years. They cooperated in an attack where 27 taliban fighters were killed for example.
this is bullshit, although he might be referring to the textbook of which doesnt really have proof in reality. but it's stated in SoldF that a well trained swedish combat pair could kill about 6-8 enemies in our own country. But that's only cause we got the advantage when it comes to camuflage in our own terrain. I'm swedish and I've done military duty and our training is hard, but what do you know of the intensity of any other countries military training?

När ett land har liten befolkning så måste de komma på ett sätt att göra sin arme och flotta mycket disiplinerad och stark, eftersom om de flyr så har de inte råd med fler.
Svenska armén och flottan var superdisiplinerad, mycket mer aän andra länders, och kapitulerade ALDRIG.

Atm our military actions seems to mostly focus on "defense enough" and then international peace keeping operations.

@mrgeorgeallison It was leased for training for two years (2006 and 2007) and of course it is possible to detect it (just like any other sub), but from what I've heard the US Navy never had much luck with finding it even though they tried for two years.

The Finnish Army also has the best commanders and officers, a lot more staffed as well.
Sweden is trying to make a conscript free army with professionalism, but even while trying, Finland has far more NCO's and people serving the army as a job.

Gustaf II nearly became emperor in Europe, thats true, but if you take a look at the swedish armed forces by that time you will find that only 10-15% was Swedes (Due to the low population as you mention), the rest was a mix of soldiers from captured countries and huge masses of mercenarys.

The russian army have a total of 3,700,000 troops. 1,000,000 of those are active. They also have the possibility to recruit 21,000,000 soldiers. I'm just stating facts. (i'm also swedish)

Danmark: 84 000
1997 hade Sverige Nordens största med 623 000 man.

När ett land har liten befolkning så måste de komma på ett sätt att göra sin arme och flotta mycket disiplinerad och stark, eftersom om de flyr så har de inte råd med fler.
Svenska armén och flottan var superdisiplinerad, mycket mer aän andra länders, och kapitulerade ALDRIG.

@leonwiganer Fight what? We have no invasion army, we don't do invasions. We're happy enough as long as people leave us alone. Not interfering in others wars, remaining neutral and have strong defenses where needed and not trying to play world police seem to have worked rather fine, no?
Atm our military actions seems to mostly focus on "defense enough" and then international peace keeping operations.
Sure you need more power when you will invade parts of the world the whole fucking time.

@mrgeorgeallison It was leased for training for two years (2006 and 2007) and of course it is possible to detect it (just like any other sub), but from what I've heard the US Navy never had much luck with finding it even though they tried for two years.

The Finnish Army also has the best commanders and officers, a lot more staffed as well.
Sweden is trying to make a conscript free army with professionalism, but even while trying, Finland has far more NCO's and people serving the army as a job.

Sweden was the strongest military power for hundreds of years earlier despite a relatively small population.
The reason to that was the superior swedish tactics, equipment, education and skill.
Sweden invented modern warfare .
If u want more info about that, search for Gustav II Adolf and u will understand.

Gustaf II nearly became emperor in Europe, thats true, but if you take a look at the swedish armed forces by that time you will find that only 10-15% was Swedes (Due to the low population as you mention), the rest was a mix of soldiers from captured countries and huge masses of mercenarys.

Thats the time it would take for our dear prime minister Fredrik Reinfelt to call up the russians and say " we give up". @TheKiriza Sett till antalet manskap har Sverige det minsta försvaret i Norden. Dock är det mycket möjligt att det kostar mer pengar (större flygvapen, mer högteknologiskt?). 2009-års siffror för manskap (wikipedia).
