@nourddinexfx no it can not, in this state. Much like drawings, paintings, and sculptures can't be used in production. At least not without some extra work, but the art is what I am focusing on, less on technical :D
@truedeja What if you just like slightly edit the head and take frames and do this over and over again and have a hq animation that takes a super computer to make?
@nourddinexfx As is, a static model can't be properly animated at all, even if it was modeled in 3ds max to begin with. You'd want to rig it properly and then try and animate it. All quality work has more than a single step to it :)
@nourddinexfx Of course it can't be animated in 3dsmax, but why would you do that anyway? The end result would be far too high poly to actually use it as is. What you'd do is take this mesh into 3dsmax or some other package, and use it to create a retopology mesh that's actually got proper edgeloops for animation, and has optimized geometry so that you could actually work with it. Then you could maybe generate normal maps from the zbrush mesh.
I have tried starting sculpting from a zpheres but it seems a bit more difficult for me (probably because I am just starting up with ZB) anyway the real problem I had was to make ears out of flat surface I have done it as you did in this tutorial but unfortunately geometry was just too stretched and my model had 1.8 mil and ears still looked not good so I have made a start up base mesh, similar to yours with pre made ears in max, seems much easier this way
@getst0opid ya, i keep it low in the beginning to keep it about the big shapes. A lot of the time I find myself going back to early sub divisions later on in sculpting all the time to make broader changes.
@driaanclaassen hey man, ive been using a sphere nowadays, but u can google search for a basemesh or register at the gnomon workshop and download it at the bottom of the freebies page
I’m currently trying out Camtasia as a recording software. What process did you take as far as recording your sound after having recorded (and sped up) the video?
@Skadalilama recently i use adobe premier now to put the videos in (sometimes is multiple sessions) and then i speed it up in there and actually record myself in quicktime cuz i dont know how to use premiere :P
Thanks for the quick reply! Might have to try out IMovie then, as I’ve been speeding up my vids in there. It’s a pain having to switch between multiple programs for one vid but if it get’s the job done… Thanks again for the input!
Really good tutorial! Where did u build the initial basic head? Is it possible to bring in a model from maya and add details with zbrush, and then finally bring it back to maya for rigging?
@Primusbumbum yes i did model it in maya. then export it as an OBJ which you can then import into zbrush. After that you can export it again as an obj and export normal and displacement maps and such. Perhaps I'll touch on that in an up coming video.
this very....wow.!!
