  • @08milk Miss'd the point

  • @08milk T.I. is actualyy lighter than wayne in weight lml Wayne jus shorter dan him

  • wayne is at the top . . . .

  • MC Paul Barman

  • Jay clearly has the belt, but the hottest out right now is Wayne hands down. And second to Wayne would have to be Drake...

  • jay-z, nas, 50 cent, lil wayne,kanye...

  • Heavy Weight: Lupe Fiasco, Nelly( he should probs be in middle weight, but he's the shit always to me!!!), Jay-Z, Kanye West

Middle Weight: Kid Cudi, Wale, Drake

Light Weight: Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, Pac Div (group, but they're the shit also)

  • nelly in the same category as jayz ?

  • @DrakeakaDrizzyfan123 not really, he's still putting music out right now, Nelly's in his own category now because he's not producing anything mainstream for now.... my opinion

  • @DrakeakaDrizzyfan123 hell naw

  • HEAVY WEIGHT: SONNY SHOTZ!!!!!

  • lyrically i want to say NAS is a super heavy weight but since Johnte said in the last 12 months, then i want to say Jay-Z, Fabolous or lil Wayne! they represent the heavyweight! Lil wayne really because he is always droppin stuff, he always has new material and he is always moving! the featherweight class would be the artists who put out singles from my home state!! but yea nas is the greatest! One luv from the Lone star!

  • !!! search NAVADA MAC THE WORD FROM UP TOP!!!!!!!!!★★★★★2010 HIT SONG

  • Heavy Weight in my opinion is Lil Wayne and the also he is the one holding the bar

I say that because of the Space he can travel to lyrically and musically. He got Rap, Rock, Reggae...he can if he wanted to do a record with Kirk Franklin or Ozzie Osborne...so for me, he as taken Hip-hop/Rap to another level...Real Talk

  • !!! search NAVADA MAC THE WORD FROM UP TOP!!!!!!!!!★★★★★2010 HIT SONG

  • heavyweights; jay-z, t.i., eminem, kanye west, wayne, common

  • lyrically i agree

but people look at it from a buisness stand point

i think lyrics should make up the rap game and its weight classes

so these three are active and crazy emcees

  • Crap and Hip Slop is all the crap on tv,and radio

  • just cause you a heavy weight dont mean they hold the bar Cutt couluhin

  • wow.....with rappers like these being considered heavyweights....no wonder hip hop iz wack right now. (God Help Us.)

  • Comment removed

  • wayne i think. naw big sean even tho he aint popin to welll

  • JD keep making these videos it puts alot of inspiration in me to keep doin what I do, to be a huge success in life....im sure im not the only one whose gettin something out of this. Stay up JD, I gaurantee we will meet up one day, and live life for a day at least.

  • could of swore that was the white generation...

  • B.o.B, Charles Hamilton, Wale, Asher Roth, Nipsey Hussle

  • lilwayne is the best that's it

  • all you gotta say is this....if you ain't business oriented and selling records you'll never be seen as good let alone great, because that's all i really hear ya'll talkin about.

  • You're comparing artist and entertainers/highest marketable rappers. Nas i feel is a better artist than Lil Wayne, but most will disagree because wayne is.....more popular, more marketable, sells more records, an has better promotion

  • well you said it right there....Lil wayne does more and more which makes him the better artist. He doesnt just make music and hopes it sells and stacks doe. He makes a record and then will leave the studio and perform a show....after the show he will leave and hit the studio to make another track. That puts lil wayne at the top. To be honest with you I dont listen to wayne much because the rappers I have interest in are Bay Area rappers. But I know how hard he work and thats my respect to him.

  • Rap is not like boxing, it's like wrestling...and i don't mean the weight divisions. Puttin rappers in classes is like saying mike tyson is a better fighter than Sugar ray robinson. You can't really say that...if sugar ray was heavier he prolly would be just as great.

  • im sorry but i love my life

ok this is true but you can die

    july. may 20th. 1930.

A girl named Ashly Kingsworth was looking for down a well and a ghost pushed her down the well. now that you read this you must Copy and Paste to 2 Other Video's or else tonight at 12:00

she will stand at the end of you're bed and pull you down the well she died in

  • Is that some So So Def skate decks in the background ?

  • i think that T.I and Drake is up there

  • continued.... Events', that are burdened with harsher judgment and held to a higher standard than those of their "role player" counterparts.

In the end, like the analogy "role players" are there to just perform a job, and most of the time nothing more.

while stars are looked to, to "dictate the flow of the game" through memorable songs and trendsetting.

It's a ying-and-yang balance, that one can't exist without the other.

the abundance of RP's make very few stars shine more brighter.

    SUP JD.

  • continued....role players are often given this burden due to being on the same label or group as ""Star players" and not being able to distinguish themselves from their cliques headliners.

"Star Players"- These are the TI's, Jay's, & Wayne's of the game. These artists are the flagship/franchise of the labels their on and the most easily recognized hip-hop icons in the mainstream media. These artists every move is documented ala' TMZ, WSHH, ETc.

"Stars" don't drop LP's but rather musical events

  • I don't really like the idea of "weight classes" per se, its a bad analogy.

I preferably like to place emcee's in 2 basketball-esque categories of "Stars" and "role players".

A role player has a core amount of fans for their certain sound, and unfortunately their efforts will be overlooked by the masses as a whole unlike their STAR counterparts. example...Freeway, Beans, I-20,

Role Players are in this category due to their lack of an "image", and restricting themselves to certain age groups.

  • JD, Eminem is the best rapper out right now. Words that don't even rhyme, he does something with them and makes them rhyme. Also, it is really difficult for most rappers to speak on one subject for an entire song, but Em does it effortlessly. Following Em, I have Ras Kass, Joe Budden, Jay Z and Lil' Wayne.

  • Heavyweights: Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Andre 3000, Nas, Rick Ross (Say what you want about ross his consistancy puts him in this convo 3 number 1 albums in a row!) Eminem and T.I

  • to the guy who has something about ether..MJ even lost a game..

  • u know wut bro i right i did 4get trey tha truth... them niggas from my hood and they the most underrated in the game.....

  • Rappers with actual substance who released an album in the past year:Heavyweights: T.I., Scarface, Ludacris, UGK, Jadakiss, Nas

Light Heavyweights: Slim Thug, Jeezy (he ain't on the level with the Heavy's yet)

  • damn right lil wayne is a heavey weight jay-z is a heavey weight niggas sleep on my nigga z-ro he a heavy weight... dat nigga got songs any person kan relate to....

  • Man since you mentioned Ro gotta mention Trae "Tha Truth".

  • jay-z heavyweight lil wayne heavyweight and thats it

  • Its gotta be Kanye West, for sheer creativity and ingenuity. Dude put out a whole love album - that used to be territory only accessible to LL. Dude pushes the limits of hip hop and each of his albums has its on unique sound. You can list to all four albums and never be bored. Kanye is the undisputed champ of the game at this moment. There area lot of cats out there that sound cool, and make hits (TI, Wayne, etc) but none of them can compare with the impact Kanye has on music and this culture.

  • This Foo Would be In, WOmen"s Class

    Or Lower.!

  • Also Wayne appeals to a generation that doesnt wanna hear complicated rhymes. This new generation just wants music they can dance and snap to, and of course there is nothing wrong with dancing and snapping, but a kat like me needs some music I can get into a zone with. All I need is "A Kid Named Cudi" cd and a blunt and I'm good.

  • I think the only reason why Lil Wayne is so popular is because he's willling to put out the type of look and image that people think a rapper should have. He has a bunch of tats, does heavy drugs, wears appealing clothes, and his lyrics really have no substance. There are many rappers such as Joe Budden, Little Brother, Canibus, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and many others who are lyrical assassins, but dont get the same attention as Wayne.

  • Cory Gunz & Nas

  • Someone likes the Ocean's soundtrack.

  • wassup everybody im an unsigned rapper with talent on youtube.stop by my page and tell me what you think of my songs.

  • JD, I ask, cause i'm not sure do anybody make real shit anymore? Kayne West ( Stonger) "You should be honored by my lateness that i would even show up to this fake shit" (stronger) 1) College Dropout in 2004 " I say fuck the police, thats how I treat them, "we buy our way out jail, but we cant buy freedom" ( When all falls down) 2) Late Registration 3) Graduation 4) Fourth album 808s& Heartbreak Classics
  • lil wayne, t.i and kanye west r to of da rap heavy weights to me right now.point.blank.period, but as far as dlil waynes image, he fucked it up a long long time ago.his lyrics is just sick. then now all of a sudden he wants to flip shit and do da rockstar thing and yea kanye did his 808 thing, but it is great. he done did his own thing and got every body else doin it. dats jus how i feel about it.

  • Rick Ross Lil' Wayne Kayne West Andre 3000 Big Boi T.I Luda JayZ Nas 50cent Eminem = Heavyweights
  • Image is everything, lil wayne is at the top right now. He is dominating the ariwaves, from rap to r&b and now he's tryin to get inot the rock world. Regardless,

Heavyweight: Jay-Z(Top MC) , (2nd best) Lil wayne, Nas, Ludacris, and T.I. and Kanye West

Mid Weight:Jadakiss, Common, Q-tip, Busta Ryhmes

Featherweight: Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, Gucci mane

Overall Jay-Z is the best lyrically, number of albms commercial success and maturity. Lil wayne is smart but is not the best.

  • Theres a market for anybody in music....Fuck people its just music either you like it or you dont

  • people don't need to talk bout the streets all the time and shit to be a good rapper u can rap about the positive stuff in ur life rap can be about expressing urself in people have their own way of doing that it can be like poetry like pac. made it.. u aint need to talk about getting a trick and stuff like that but i aint against crunk and club bangerz but know what you talking bout

  • Lupe Fiasco is a super heavyweight. in other words he is the best in my opinion. lil wayne got the tiltle, but lupe go harder than wayne to me.

  • lilw1121 man i feel you on that wayne just talk bout hoes and cash but lupe can put the same words and make it mean something and he isn't simple like wayne he don't rhyme every word possible he uses words and rhymes to get messages across thats what makes Lupe a Super HeavyWeight you can put him in a battle and he gon be ready to knock out

  • this is my top 2 who holds the bar right now...*lil wayne *TI

  • Pun is Definitly Under-Rated, but his body of work is similar to BIG L's not enough done..Pun is 1 of my top 7

    1. Jay-Z

    2. OutKast

    3. BIG

    4. Eminem

    5. Pun

    6. Kanye

    7. 50

  • Its Simple 3 Million Records Sold on 2 Album-Super Heavyweight 1 Million Records Sold on 2 Albums- Middleweight 500,000 Record Sold on 1 Album- Walterweight 100,000 Records Sold-Super Featherweight and if you Are like Drake who i think is hot shit he is an undefeated amature, Which is similar Roy Jones Jr Heavyweight Champ- Jay-Z #1 Eminem #2 Wayne #3 T.I. #4 Luda #5 50 my opinion is Bias b/c i feel as though Jay-Z is better then BIG and Pac and jay-z is my fav. rapper
  • "b/c i feel as though Jay-Z is better then BIG and Pac and jay-z is my fav. rapper " <----ETHER to your markass argument

  • Well you have to mention Biggie him nor Craig Mack never were sex symbols. But back to the current I think LUPE has heavyweight skills but not heavy hits is that image. Because he looks like a geek does that hurt he's sales slash street credit like a Wayne, who really doesn't spit as good. Music Business people I'm listening to your album not looking at your swagger driven image. We all talk about swagger hype with little to no skills to back it.

  • Oh my bad i had typed that all out b4 i the video had finished! For artist in the last year id have to say Wayne is kilin it but the rock album is terrible!!

  • If were talking about rappers that ever did it id say Big L is def in the Heavy weight division but i dont think he gets the credit he deserves!! and it pisses me off that his name doesnt come up when biggie and pac are mentioned!!

  • I say Wayne has the most "commercial" success & eeerybody Kno "Whites" buy most ov the CD's but, round here n da "BAY" if it ain't no BAY SHIT iz gon B-->PLIES,BOOSIE,WEBBIE,oR GUCCI. Y cuz when u on yo BLK. n yo HOOD ain't NO COMMERCIALS, JUST SLAP n dA TRUNK...ReaLLy dats Y dey made TIVO & DVR's so U can watch yo show & FFWD BuLLsHiT COMMERCIALS + SKINNY JEANS AIN"T IT oN REAL MEN! give USHER the MEMO, I LOVE'em but I'LL Leave'm if I catch'em performin n da THRILLER JEANS STOP IT!!!! K8mixx

  • Now that wayne is hot he ain' t thinkin about bloggin we can't even get 5min but when u not hot no mo then what?? It can only be one Wayne,Jay,Tupac, and BIG so come wit something NEW give a Nicca a chance

  • And you kno, kids will listen 2 anything. But nah wayne is on his shit and i commend him for that. He represents what a rapper should be like. In the studio everyday, making songs consistently etc. But on the real, i think as a whole 90's rap era is the bar. Id much rather want to hear more lyrical skills than just sas. Thats just me tho.

  • Honestly bra, Fuck the bullshit everyone talkin about. A tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang, Rakim, Jay, Nas and alot more others are the BAR. Reason being, back in the 90's, when u listened to rap it was real and lyrics were everything. Wayne sets the bar as far as a rappers priorities go, but as a lyricist naaah. His rhymes are mediocre at best. Wayne has his moments, and ima wayne fan, but his shit not alll that poppin. Think about it, most his fan base is young ass kids who dont kno no better

  • outkast. heavyweights

  • word. I say Outkast too man. They're the heavyweights. Prolly the best rap duo of all time.

  • of coures ya boy great HOVA is the best of da best... WEEZY F BABY is out of the world... and this is comin from a hip hop mc fo real but i say light weights such as soja boy and dem dance makin rappa's they stay in they place real talk OLAH...

  • how yall gonna leave out 50 cent...its hard to put rappers n a weight class....because most have hot singles, or crazy hot mix tapes....or they only sound hot on somebody else remix.....then t.i. shouldn't b left out either....cuz lil wayne wasn't hott like that back then...he can' t give u an hot album other than the carter...however he sold alot on the carter 3...but when plies drop wayne was forgot

  • Real talk.... Jay- Z is the bar. yall niggas stuck on stupid cuz Wanye droppin a verse every five minutes!!!! If you hear something enough and they say they the best you gonna belive it!! Nobody has the body of work like jigga except mcs that are dead! no disrepect!!!!

  • well kanye aint released a rap album in the last 12 m, but as far as im concerned, he sets the bar for the rap heavyweights, not lil wayne, coz kanye makes credible music, and also got the selling tip on lockdown

also, JD, what that guy rfranklin said i agree with 100%, except for the part where he says fuck image... image is very important, it can set you apart and gain a receptive audience visually, but fuck finding a hungry rapper on the rise that copies wayne.. find someone ORIGINAL

  • B-more forgot Snoop Heavy weight :)

  • I like Wayne but I don't look at his image I like is rap and beats. Bow Wow I like is beats and style and his rap. It's certain things I look at about a rapper. Like JD explained sometimes looks doesn't matter Like Outkast If we didn't hear but just seen them I would think they were wack because of their style, but I look past that and I think they are a great rap group, that's a way style doesn't matter to me I gotten used to them and now it's kinda finny and cute. :) Christine B-more

  • Heavy weights Busta, Lil Kim, Jay-z, Kanye West, Missy, Luda, TI, there's more but these are the ones I aree with.

*Kanye West* holds the bar. I agree image dose plays a part in the rap world, but not the main part. Lyrics (making sense) , style (especially creativity) and beats impresses me. w/o those I am not interested. When I purchase a CD I have to like at least 4 songs for me to buy it, so far with the above I was never disappointed. Christine from B-more

  • Heavy weights: Jay-z, Nas,Kanye west, Lil Wayne, T.I. Ludacris,

    LOL@ Intynational & Sinatra

    Thanks JD

  • HEAVY WEIGHTS: Lil Wayne, T.I., Y. Jeezy, Kanye West, Nas, Ludacris, ect.

MID. WEIGHT: Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Gucci Mane, ect.

FEATHER WEIGHT: Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, dudes that did "Stanky Leg", homies that did "Lookin' Boy" , Shawty Lo, ect.

  • Kenye West holds the bar. He does what he wants to. He is very creative. Very intelligent. He has no ethnic identity problem. He is the type of hip hop emcee that Ive been following . He is not afraid to speak what he knows is right. He reminds me of the guys from Souls of Mischief. Kenye understands life.

He does not try to be commercial but yet he will be commercial; because people like him.

  • well fuckin said keem... kanye makes music first and foremost, which crosses genres and appeals to the masses... 30 yrs from now kanye's the rapper who will remembered the most

  • and kanye's style is original.... aint no one before him had the balls to come out with the style he did and make is fashionable in hiphop... what that says to me is kanye is ORIGINAL

  • Yea how do we get you to hear our demo??

  • How do I submit a demo to you???

  • BEACUSE ITS GAY..... LOL

  • I know this is late but I gotta say Soulja Boy. As much as I despise alot of his work the boy is a GREAT business man! He makes songs about absolutely random shit and people are drawn to it, it's catchy. Anytime u got ellen tryin to learn your dance u making moves

  • it aint about who hot now...that goes to homegirl thats HYPE ON DRAKE. ITS ABOUT LONGEVITY! will u be hot in the next generations, will they remember u, do u drop an ablum every year or every other year, was you hot when you first dropped??? If the answer to every question is YES that makes you a heavy weight and above, if you only answer yes to sum than ur rankin aint heavy yet!

  • ITS GUCCI MANE LAFLARE CASE CLOSED!

  • JD it's all good to talk about what you expect in a artist as far as the bar, but how about telling the people how to get their music to the right people when they do...Getting the attention of anybody in the music industry is crazy hard even if you have good tracks...and what's worse is like you said when a wack artist gets heard with a dumb ass song..Lables aren't trying to make legends anymore only get that one hit wonder...how can real artist get in touch with the right people?

  • Ty is in the business of shaming people. lmao

  • Busta, Scarface, and Eminem (Heavy Weights)

  • drake is the shit.. i think he will be get his chance to be mainstream because everybody is starting to talk about and listen to him more.. plus he has songs wit people who have made it like lil wayne and trey songz i think he got one with robin thicke to but anyway i hope he does get the credit and fame he deserves because he is really talented .. my favorite songs r november 18 and the one with llyod

  • Rick Ross is the boss of rap but the hip hop (i mean rap rnb etc.) master nowadays is T Pain, no doubt, the guy is everywhere, plus he can do everything: making beats and producing, composing, singing, rapping

    HE THE REAL BOSS

  • to me lil wayne got a run for his money, their's is a underdawg by the name of Drake who is slowly killing both side of the mukiz industry he could sing and rap. people is really sleeping on this man talent. but lil wayne is the champ, but also their is T.I., Ludacris is a monster with those words, and another underdog Trey Songz this mother fucka could rap just listen to treyday,

  • DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE LOL AND T.I yall dont talk about drake often but baby is a beast !!!!!! he's the reason i started listening to rap again

every1 need to hit drake music up

  • mah man Jadakiss is way too underrated

  • Heavyweight:Lil Wayne just because he got appeal to a lot of audiences, even though i liked him better without the overuse of the Auto-tune.

T.I. his album was crazy and he broke two billboard records.Ludacris as usual lyrically he's crazy and album was crazy,Young Jeezy his album was nice too,and he appeals to an audience far beyond what people might think.that's my opinion JD.Holla Back.

  • Heavy weight: T.I

    Middle weight: Bow wow

  • im thinking DRAKE has a real potentialat being a heavywieght.....why dont yall have him as a topic...he's a talented cat

  • The term gay (ɡeɪ) was originally used, until well into the mid-20th century, primarily to refer to feelings of being "carefree", "happy"

  • JD you make a valid comment about image and status of MC's and the problem people need to be honest and get the hate out there heart and give it to lil wayne he holds the crown right now. The crazy thing the #1 heavy weight that not really a rapper is Tpain! I think Kiss is one of the industries sleep on heavy weights.

  • The heavy weight champ right now is lil wayne................my favorite rapper is jadakiss and i say hes a heavy weight

  • First of all image is a lot. If it wasn't Jay-Z, Diddy, Nelly, T.I, Jim Jones, and others with clothing lines wouldn't have clothing lines. Think about that. Heavy weights and what not in the hip-hop world is hard to place. We have to judge Lyrical content, flow, credibility, stage presence, quality and material of the album and so on. Can we place Kanye and Lupe in the same class? Jim Jones and Jadakiss? how about Fab and lets say Mos-Def? can we place any of those rappers in the same Class?

  • Heavy Weight Champ has got to be Lil' Wayne right now. The nigga done sold 1 MILLION records in his first week. In this day and age that type of shit is just not going to happen. The rest of my heavy weight list is T.I., Young Jeezy, and Jay-Z.

As far as lyrical content, marketability, album sales etc. etc. I just don't see a lot of other rappers out there right now who can compete. Maybe Kanye but dude fell off in my opinion.

  • I think every artist has their own niche in the game. They offer different flavors of musical and lyrical connections with the audience.

Heavy Weight: TI - has a high level of social & economical consciousness, Lil-Wayne - offers a great level of creativity and lyrical design, UGK - is very straight to the point, Young Jeezy - gives audience inspiration, guidance, and hard core life translations.

    Middle Weight: Kanye West,

    Light Weight (potential): Soulja Boy,

  • Missy Elliott i a mad heavy weight ... but she's in a category by her damn self!

    Supafly and MissE So addictive

  • Well statistically lol iLil wayne does hold the crown, But He is not my Best Choice I do choose T,i

  • wieght class is all about what u do with with rap and ur surroundings But I do feel all what u saying no doubt but they said that back in the day not now... BUt they do go in try and give there hardest in and sometimes its hot and sometimes not But the artist hisself and hisself looks it as hot and when u know its hot just know not guess and they let the people judge

  • Lil Wayne (3,128,767) U.S. & Kanye (1,499,481) U.S....Wayne holds the belt as far as sales are concerned but Indeed both these guys are heavy weights

  • Yall 2 fuckin dudes are lame as FUCK...I left a comment earlier today suggesting HAYSTAK as a heavy hitter and you deleted BOTH fuckin comments on BOTH videos...hahahaha, you obivously dont want him getting any publicity or new fans huh? Cuz he's too dope?! Huh, I think so...your both some straight up fake commercial what.evers...&& im not even on any internet gankster shit...just real talk...

  • I just dont know who he is he probably is but I dont know who he is but he cant be a heavyweight if he is not out there on the highlight he may got the lyrics but not the business aspect

  • JD, my heavy weight class is: Common, Talib Kweli, Lil, Wayne, Jay-Z (Holding On), Kanye, T.I. (Definetely Stepped It Up With Paper Trail). Those are the cats holding the game up right now in the "Heavy Weight Class", and alot of you cats don't give Talib Kweli his props either!

  • 3 stacks..............heavyweight....nuff said.

  • Oooops! I forgot to add TI to the list of active heavyweights. He is very much deserving of the title!

  • Active heavyweights: Lil Wayne, Kanye, Eminem, 50 and Jay (if he is not retired). I give it to these dudes based on fan base, record sales, money, consistency, and business ventures. When these dudes talk, people listen. Recession or not, if each one of these men dropped an album tomorrow, it would do more than 300,000 in the first week guaranteed!

  • fuk dat niggah R franklin cuz I know fo sure Ti rock da same tight jeans and they aint tight number 1, and I know he probably bump his shit hes a hater

  • I do this between what I said what kind of chemistry you got with the Music Industry. Me If I was in the game. I would look at wayne and Jayz, Wouldnt to try to compete with them , I would only want to be better and if when I get a demo You will see You ask either Jay or wayne you tell them would they even try to put a competiton with eachother or with Big or pac they would say no Im just doin me and he is doin he Im just trying to be better thus called IMPOWERMENT

  • That's very incorrect. Every Artist competes with the rest of the artists in the Game. That's what the Grammy's are. That's what the Source Awards were. The BET awards... All means of competition for the BEST Album. You can compete with yourself all day, but if you aren't to competing with Wayne, Jay, & all the others then you cant be the best. And as a hip hop artist, that's our whole purpose of doing it.

  • He said "thats there level im wayne, ima do me im not gonna say am i gonna be like them there legends and Im no legend only if I die I would probably be a legend" I seen that I said this guy is humble I found its aol interview that backs my point and he was right, YOu lead your own destiny, wayne knows he noone is touching him after what jay said to him but he said hes not competing with noone I just do me i cant help people find it better then others

  • That's just the Polital answering of questions to make yourself look humble as a public figure. But honestly, If you put any 2 rappers in a studio right now and say let's do a song together, Their goal is to have the hottest verse. Every Emcee's goal is to have the hottest song/Album every time. No they don't go in and say "I gotta be better than Amilli" but they do say (instinctively) "I gotta be doper than any other nigga picking up a mic!!!" you see where I'm coming from now?

  • but no disrespect at all I just been following music from since I remember I feel ur opinion y u think im incorrect but u can say that if it was basketball or football but yeah it is a friendly competition but do you think that they go in the studio saying ima beat lil waynes record,, nah they'll lose focus what they say is ima get a million records or i hope this songs a hit to everybody how i hear it but thanks for commenting me

  • Nah. What I meant is this. Since the beginnings of hip hop emcees have made a point of saying "LOOK AT ME!!!!! I'M DOPER THAN EVERYBODY!!!!!"

That went from KRS-1 To LL Cool J To 50 Cent (not so much anymore) to Newcomers like Charles Hamilton. It's allways been about being the dopest. If you're not gonna be the dopest then what are you doing it for? Then Once youre the dopest then at that point you can start to say, "I'm my only Competition" you feel me?

  • you right about that I give U that But when they make that statement Its only because in the earlier stage they was just trying to perfect at what they do when they got good they was like "omly in there in eviroment" they say they are the best until they get in the game and trump the industy they say I am.... lil wayne is defferent before he got to his peak on his mixtape he said best rapper alive, WHY cause he could freedom thus with that he made sure he had to back it up and he did

  • You bounce from back and fourth with music. and there plenty more of thos who just look for that one hit to get famous then fade out I call dance song makers. There are no Super Heavywieights in the game right now. Its was Jay z, U know from Lyrical content, Dance Music, album sales, Image, Clothing and access, Ceo, Producer, 60 Minutes and at the end of the day do what he loves freestyle. But he hasnt made anything lately atleast worth, so drop him to heavy, Light Heavy is Jadakiss, and Busta

The dudes dropped 15 albums since 1998...before Eminem...before Bubba Sparxxx...from Nashville, TN...never went commercial cuz he didnt wanna loose his street credibility.

  • JD my dude hands down heavyweight Jadakiss, Nas, Young Jeezy, 50, Jay, T.I.

  • image is one of the biggest things next to having a gimmic. These comments are off b ecause u cant say some one thtat has been in the industry for a year or to is a heavy weight , they just whats popping now. If they stay around longer than five or six years wit major hits and record sells then give them the jayz , weezy titles

  • To be honest you cant really call Weezy a heavyweight. He just started holding his own weight a couple years ago. Heavyweights would be LL Cool J, Nas, Jay-Z niggas of that Stature.
