@sdw2004 The Roll Effect is a 3d party filter and it was only in CS4 for Windows. CS5 doesn't have it anymore, neither PC or MAC. But you can still create the 3D Earth in motion manually with keyframes that looks like a roll. We have a template where we demonstrated how to use that method "A New, revised Rotating Title Around a Rotating Earth Template for Adobe Premiere Pro".
I use cs5.5 and I created a roll of 2-3 rotations in a new sequence by adding earth texture x3 times and I made motion manually with keyframes that looks like roll... Then i added my new sequence in the basic sequence and followed the rest of the tutorial!!!
Great tutorial! I was moving along nicely till I discovered there is no "roll" effect in Adobe Premiere CS5! :(
Here is my workaround: make a new sequence, animate the earth still image (without the matte)--I used the Offset effect to make the earth move--then export this as a movie and import that back into the project. Put the animated earth below the matte track/layer. There might be an easier way, but that was the only way I could get it to work.
@bccmee Are you a MAC user? If so, that is the problem, as this effect is only found in Windows version. But you can still make the same thing manually moving the earth texture with key frames.
Thank you for your feedback; stay tuned for more tutorials.
@BestProAction I'm a PC. The "Roll" effect is not in my version of Premiere Pro CS5. I sent a tweet to Adobe and they responded saying that the effect is now called "Roll Away" but it works nothing like the "Roll" as shown in your tutorial.
I love your tutorials...and i wanna know about that lighting effects on "Quick tips" words, and if possible on premier, i dont have/know nothing about after effects (yet)
I have no Roll Effect and I have the latest version. So what am I to do??

Great tut! Is this CS4? I dont believe Roll is in CS5 due to the removal of some effects that didnt make the 64 bit cut.

@bccmee This is kind of weird because in Adobe help, the effect exists. Unfortunately I can't help on this one; I'm in CS4.

@BestProAction I know it's listed, which is very strange indeed. That's why I tweeted out for help. They obviously lied! #LOL

The effect is great! Also, what export settings do you use to achieve such a high quality youtube upload? It is perfect even at low resolution
