Yes ,all the stories of "Sid couldn't play bass" are wrong...Matlock was a better bassist, no doubt about that, but Sid played ok, before the smack fucked him up...
oh yes sid on bass playing quite well poor lod sod .what a waste of life.great song. on record it is steve jones on bass .both single and album.but you all knew that
No prob's - its my shit grammar - i should of paid more attention in school instead of playing music.! I should of said "its the first time the band had performed the song 'No Future' live, which later became 'God save the Queen'."
This is not the first time they played No future/God save the Queen. I have a live album from december 1976 in Manchester, and they're playing it there too.
yeah your right - i was wrong - but - actually the 1st time 'No future' was ever performed live was at niether gigs mentioned, it was first aired live on Fri 19th November at Hendon Polytechnic- one week exactly before 'Anarchy in the uk' was released on 7" single.!
This was also the first time they ever performed (live) this new song titled 'No Future' then, & was later given extra verse's & chorus & changed to 'God Save the Queen'.
No it wasn't - got your facts wrong there mate - Glen Matlock was still on bass in Nov 76& he played the show on 6th Nov 76, this was they're 2nd performance at the same venue with Sid on bass - he just joined & is his 2nd gig with the band, 3rd April 1977.
your wrong!!! this is in 1977 sid was on bass here its sid! glen was with them during the screen on the green gig in 76 sid was on drums for susy and the banchees still!!! sid dident join till feb 77 so this is febuary 77
proof - if ever it was needed - that contrary to popular belief - Sid COULD actually play! All be it not brilliantly, but he did spend hours & hours practicing, listen to any Winterland footage too, you can hear him play just fine on that.
Whiterat is quite right - That is not the Roxy club - the Sex Pistols NEVER played the Roxy.! Neither is it the Notra Dame Hall. It IS in fact 'The Screen on the Green' in Islington. Sid's 2nd gig on 3 April 1977. That whole show was filmed, still unreleased in the vaults of Julian Temple.
yea , alot of people say sid was never playing and naver plugged in , but if you listen to the live version of belsan was a gas , he played the whoel time
thumbs up if you like Sex Pistols Live @ The Screen on the Green

been saying the same for years, sid was more than adequate before he shot the demon into his stringy arm.

Sid didn't play "ok", Sid couldn't play period and who cares, it's unimportant if you can play or not.
