I have served in the British army for 6 years now.. This is a standard unarmed combat system taught to all of our troops, front line or not and believe me it works in real life situations...

I'm not saying they're crap. My mates joining the marines and told me to look at their hand to hand combat. They probably are good at hand to hand combat , I just find this a bit jokey for an elite fighting force. I do jui Jitsu and you do have to be compliant in the moves but brake-falling half of the technique you can up the tempo when you Kia
@flamingmongrels yeh sloppy jui jitsu alright m8, and the reason it's a bit sloppy is because if they went any harder they end up seriously hurting or killing each other by mistake. Plus it not jui jitsu the techniques used are a mix of tecniques from many martial arts adapted to be used in combat situations. Put it this way you get in a fight with a marine it wont be a fight, it'll just be him assulting you because marines aren't taught to fight, their taught attack and controlled violence.

I'm not saying they're crap. My mates joining the marines and told me to look at their hand to hand combat. They probably are good at hand to hand combat , I just find this a bit jokey for an elite fighting force. I do jui Jitsu and you do have to be compliant in the moves but brake-falling half of the technique you can up the tempo when you Kia

@flamingmongrels yeh sloppy jui jitsu alright m8, and the reason it's a bit sloppy is because if they went any harder they end up seriously hurting or killing each other by mistake. Plus it not jui jitsu the techniques used are a mix of tecniques from many martial arts adapted to be used in combat situations. Put it this way you get in a fight with a marine it wont be a fight, it'll just be him assulting you because marines aren't taught to fight, their taught attack and controlled violence.

This isnt exactly what they teach, the display team is part of the recruitment team, its aim is to get people interested in recruitment.
In training the focus is more along the lines of IDF Krav Maga and USMC LINE

dont want to sound disrepectfull because the armed forces do an amzing job but them action movies are silly there more like movie stunts the only reason 3/4 of them work on this video are because the guys allow them 2 if 1 of them tryed to take a bat from me it wouldnt work like that because people who understand how to fight and are trained to fight just would fall in to a trap where you get tossed over a shoulder your avarge joe might i supose but not a combat fighter

the only difference is that in afghanistan, US air force drop bombs on the british forces, but when the RAF do it, none of our troops get touched, im not saying were a better force than them (which we are but im not saying it) we can just do things alot better than what they can

Theres no real answer,they're both v gd tho currently the boxing title is wiv the Paras boxing team.Wen makin ur choice work out wat ur strong points r,if ur fast b a Para,if u've got more endurance b a RM,its in their role,Paras drop in a few miles away from their mission objective&av to get to it fast,RM av to yomp a lot further cos they're dropped@a beach&av2advance or dropped off by heli,which is noisy&to drop them further from the target if its a formidable enemy and stealth is needed.

thats probably true mate, i am in 42 commando on the 5th week out of 6 on my yearly leave, the training is tough but you just have to persevere, but the CQC they teach is deadly, for example, last year on the second week of my leave, my uncle and his friend attacked me in a drunken rage and as you said; (the "he" is me:
