She brings my mind to a Mexican singer, Rita Guerrero, the voice of a fantastic Rock Band called Santa Sabina. A powerful singer who unfortunately died some months ago.
Similar voices, different projects, both of them excellent singers.
They're not influenced by nu-metal, that's a load of crap, I can hear no nu-metal at all in any of their songs. Melodic metal in their early material, yes. I wish people would stop moaning about the male vocals, yes, sometimes the key sounds off, but without him, Lacuna Coil would not be the same, at all. He's better with accousic sets I think personally.
Why does everyone seem to hate Karmacode so much? Yah, I know it's been a couple of years but is everyone still on this "Nu Metal is crap" Mentality? So personally, not a fan of the genre itself but Karmacode was a good album and I loved it.

I don't think they have a nu metal sound at all. They just wanted to get heavier. But some fans don't like a change in sound and that's all good. But it's not their end considering Karmacode has been their best selling album.
I think their album was inspired by Korn's recent album at the time. Yeah it was meant to sound heavier but it seemed like they did adopt the Nu Metal sound with the guitars and bass going on in Karmacode. Much of their old sound is still there, like the lyrics, vocals and drums.

And Cristina is an amazing vocalist that sounds good not just in the studio but live, and has a great range. As for Andi, it's all about taste. I love his agressive "in your face" voice.
imo for metal bands, the most impt aspect of vocals is the ability of the vocalist to rise above the heavy riffs and drumming, which christina and andrea do very well. and they're doing it live, so i'd hold my criticisms unless i know of a huge number of vocalists who can do better (which i do not)

i know nightwish is symphonic metal. and lacuna coil is symphonic metal too. a band doesn't need to have a keyboard to be a symphonic metalband. Please, before you enter a comment, do some research.
