  • Good point, but Don't hold me to it.

  • You will love this ???,,,see a video I have done called " The Secret of Oz Debunked 1/2 "

I seen it as a concern at first but now its a documentation of willful ignorance if anything rather than a rejection as such, but I have to admit repeating one self dose get quite frustrating at times as you may see in some of my replies so I guess there is an essence of disappointment or rejection if you like.

  • I like the like button, altho I don't use it a lot, as it allows me to notice what those I subscribe to have watched and liked & this provides some good vids to view I would otherwise not have seen. I will "like" vids which involve something I would care to discuss & that many would benefit from viewing, usually leaving comments, while specialized videos on fixing something I will leave a thanks comment only. Thumbs down I rarely use myself, but find it useful as a guide to prevailing opinion.

  • @gedgetips I don't quite get the dislike of the thumbs down option, since even if it is mainly one resentful fucktard finding a way to thumb down a vid 25 times, the very pt someone would bother doing this at least indicates there is possible serious opposition to the video subject matter. That is, one a-hole is not necessarily a lone critic as many or most are not going to bother expressing their disdain. I am sometimes surprised by the dislikes & will think more about the vid & comment.

  • @gedgetips I found it interesting (in my early YT days) to view only those videos that were voted down. This provided an interesting method to utilize this function. Your explanation clearly shows how you use this function, ty. Personally, I find uses for the thumbs up when: 1) I want to "videomark", 2) I want to encourage another that does not know me, and are unlikely to correspond via PM with me, or 3) when I do not have time to comment but want to show positive support.

  • @gedgetips (part 2) The thumbs down I find only useful if I partner it with a comment. Also I like to let the individual know I thumbed it down, in case they are gathering data via linking my comment with the action. Personally, if YT was going to provide this "reward program" to the viewer...I would select a gradient application. Allowing a more specific gauge to be available.

Thank you for viewing my video. Please do not be a stranger.

  • Back In June,I Had Sombody (That Obviously Had Many Accounts) Thumb Down My Video 25 Times Within 20min.

  • @MrHead1972 The foolishness one is willing to demonstrate just because they have a difference in opinion, or different world view is astounding.

  • The thumbing system is silly and childish. I look at the comments I get over the ratings to reflect whether I've completely missed the point on something or if I've perhaps articulated my point well enough.

The whole youtube experience seems to be one long popularity contest, if a person is interested in playing along, that is. I'm not. I've never been afraid of expressing an opposing view and if people can't be grown up enough to handle that, in my opinion, it says more about them than me.

  • @911tourettes I have absolutely no problem with people disagreeing with me, I respect their right to do so, and it would seem only reasonable to expect the same from others. But there does seem to be a certain sensitivity with people's egos in this setting, and a desperate seeking of approval (through views, subscribers, ratings etc).

  • @911tourettes I would like to think that we can see the real potential in having such technology. Using it in a manner that brings a deeper understanding of life. I tire of seeing the petty BS. I refuse to participate in the circus. This venue can never bring an individual genuine self esteem via the means of another's approval. The thumbing system is bogus. It does not tell me why any individual likes or dislikes my work. It does not provide a deeper insight into (cont)

  • @911tourettes (part 2) why a person thinks and feel as they do.

The YT experience for me is made special by the likes of people like you. It kills the disappointment I see with the vast amount of hate, jealousy, insecure behavior and egomania that is displayed freely. We have to demand better of ourselves and each other. I find myself saying this often these days. Hugs, and thank you for supporting my efforts. Peace.

  • @EuphoricImpact Amen to that! ;)

    Enjoy your weekend! :)

  • Standing ovation, BRAVO!!

  • @inspirediam Thank you my friend. Good to have your input!!

  • Excellent thoughts. Entirely agree. Thanks for the response. :) Thumbs up. lol

  • @Loreleila Thank you for subscribing and viewing my video. I look forward to future exchanges...be well.

  • I don't down thumb videos, I leave a comment instead. When I click "like" it's because it shows up in my activity feed and it brings attention to the video in question.

  • @TheMudbrooker Leaving comments is what matters. It provides the insight...the thumbs down and up (for that matter..though it can communicate a simplistic message) is a pressure release, imo. Thank you for viewing my video!
