And to try to answer the questions about the how and why this video is dubbed in french language I would like to remind that some people in this country, and like every other country, aren't able to read fast subtitles (sometimes because medical reasons) or even aren't able to read at all. This has been done aiming to a certain ergonomy. But, even as a frenchman, I prefer when foreign languages speaking people don't get their voices dubbed.

I mean, Damon's gorgeous voice is replaced by a kind of old crappy dubber: that's why a lot of people I know in France prefer to watch english speaking movies in the original sound track. Just like I prefer to watch japanese stuff in japanese: a dubber won't ever match an actor or the original speaker.

Bah de la soupe dans l'air du temps, je crois pas: a l'époque de la sortie de Clint Eastwood ils ont joués le rôle de précurseurs. J'aime les Libertines mais aussi Gorillaz. Cependant les Libertines sont beaucoup plus classés "dans l'air du temps" que Gorillaz: ils sont restés dans la traditionnelle veine du brit-rock sans apporter de changements majeurs. Albarn cependant fait preuve d'un éclectisme dont rares artistes peuvent se vanter.

It's not as if the french had a meeting and decided to accept "other countries artists." English speaking countries gave birth to modern music.

Furthermore, no one is saying that you HAVE to speak english. The fact is though, that if you want to travel to other countries, it is very helpful to speak english. The British Empire made sure that english was to be the universal language a long time ago. It sounds to me that you either need a history lesson of a really good therapist.

Now there's a voice-over and people who can't understand French are not able to hear with Damon says in English.
