Flair and AA, not only 2 of the greatest wrestlers ever, bit 2 of the greatest on the mic. You going to tell me Stone cold, didn't take some of his stuff, from AA! AA is so damn serious, like Dusty said, Flair would talk about woman, cars, suits ect. Then AA would wrap it all up, by saying he's going to kick your ass! Flair greatest wrestler, AA greatest tag wrestler. AA BELONGS IN THE HALL OF FAME! WOOOOO
Most of us wrestling fans have forgotten more about wrestling and in ring wrestling skills, than Lex Luger ever learned! He was a true muscle brain. No talent whatsoever.
BEST ON THE MIC : 1. Bobby Heenan 2. Ric Flair 3. Roddy Piper 4. Dust Rhodes 5. Nick Bockwinkel 6. Billy Graham 7. The Rock 8. Jake Roberts 9. Jesse Ventura 10. Arn Anderson ( Running ups: Michael Hayes, Jerry Lawler )
@sayanroy36 Well you can't go wrong with Jericho or Foley, they are both in my Top 20, but not in my Top 10. The "anti-Hardcore" promos Foley had in ECW, the "Cane Dewey" promo were classics, and Jericho is one hell of a talker, his heel persona was by far the best characters WWE had in the past 5 years, so you could be right, after all it's really hard to make a "Top 10" list of the best talkers ever in wrestling, there are so many of them. So in a way I agree with your choices my friend. :D
Best of the Best EVER ON THE MIC 20-11: 20. Austin Idol - The Universal Heartthrob 19. Big Cat Ernie Ladd - funny and intimidating. 18. Curt Hennig Mr. Perfect 17. Road Warrior Hawk 16. Ole Anderson 15. Bruiser Brody 14. Tully Blanchard - most underrated of The Four Horsemen. 13. (tie)Ravishing Rick Rude/Chris Jericho 12. Michael P.S. Hayes - poor man's Ric Flair 11. Nick Bockwinkel - smooth and articulate.
well actually animal was a lil weak on the mic hawk came up with al lthe witty lines, but id have to include Raven on that list but really he could be tied with jake roberts cause their styles were so alike
A few people suggested Raven but I tried watching his promos and I never seriously considered him. Jake is a master. Thank you for the positive feedback.
PWI voted them the greatest tag team 6 years ago. Tully and Arn was 30th on that list. That's good enough for me. Road Warriors dominated everywhere: WWF, WCW, AWA Japan, EVERYWHERE.
I agree....the Road Warriors may have been my favorite team of the '80's, but Blanchard/Anderson just might have been the best...impeccable chemistry and could wrestle circles around almost anybody....and mic ridiculous mic skills
Ric Flair said from his own lips that there was no weak link. If anything Tully Blanchard was grossly underappreciated. The proof is in what happened when he left the Horsemen. No one came close to replacing Tully. No one. The two best Horsemen contingents were the original: Flair, Arn, Ole and Tully and Flair, Arn, Tully and Windham. Tully was a master ring technician and psychologist. That's why he drew major heat in his feuds with Big Dust and Magnum...
I couldn't agree with you more and in Ric Flair's book he says his favorite version of the Four Horseman was with Barry Windham even on the DVD Ric and The Four Horseman he said Barry was the perfect fit
BEST OF THE BEST EVER ON THE MIC 10-1 10. Stone Cold Steve Austin 9. Mick Foley 8. Rowdy Roddy Piper 7. Arn Anderson 6. Jake "The Snake" Roberts 5. Shawn Michaels 3.(tie)Superstar Billy Graham - very influential even 30 years later; the white Muhammad Ali; Preacher in real life 3.(tie)Dusty Rhodes - too hard to separate Graham and Rhodes. 2. The Rock - funny, original and charismatic 1. Ric Flair - simply the best ever; never cut a bad promo Top 5 should be required viewing for wrestlers today.
i thought the horsemen were at their best when it was arn, flair, viscious and windham. They just stood out more and looked the perfect 4 man heel gang.
I'd say it was. I think Windham was extremely underrated as a wrestler and a character. Having Arn and Ric together, I mean what's not to like about that? And Viscious was perfect as the brawn. Sure, he might be thought of as a joke by some people because of his shallow wrestling and diabolical mic skills, but back in those days he was great for his strength and sheer presence.
when wrestling was good best promos

Cross an 80s tough guy with a pedophile and you get Arn. Tully looks like an accountant or a used car salesman - can't decide which.

why aren't both these men in the hall of fame yet? why is koko b. ware or even bob orton in it before these men?
FoCuS138 2 years ago 2
Exactly. Arn is either the best or second best wrestler never to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Put him in the Hall Vince!!

I never liked that Bob Caudle. Sounds like he'd be better suited for Nascar or fishing shows.
