  • did i hear vale tudo, jujitsu?

  • nice vingativas

  • GREAT video of the last years competition in Australia. maybe another one this year? haha! but wateva it is good job on the vid. hopefully i can attend this year competition. AXE Zambiacongo Australia!

  • wow i liked the 1:35 when he drop him while he do parafuso it was so cooooool!!!!!!! excellent video thnx!!!!

  • oh and what is the second song thnx

    axe muzenza

  • Yea the guy that did the rasteira at 1:35 eventually won the competition.

Sorry I'm not sure what the name of the song is. It's from a zambiacongo cd which just lists the songs as Track 1, track 2, track 3 etc.

  • Foi No Clarão Da Lua

  • one of the best capoeira vids i have seen

  • These are not real fights. they are rehearsed dances. does anyone know where to see real capoeira fight videos??

  • I assure you not one of these were rehearsed. I know cos this is my group. This is a "roda de capoeira" if that is what you mean. Capoeira is never "rehearsed" unless it is for a performance.

I'm not sure what u mean by "real fight videos". If you are looking for something in a ring/cage like mma, look for grupo axe capoeira.

  • This is great, but i just want to see street fights that use these techniques. because if you stop each time people clinch each other, it has no real application to real world

  • does anything have a real application in the real world?

People train in MMA (as well as other forms of martial art) because they enjoy it. Not many people train MMA for sole purpose of severely injuring someone intentionally.

  • that seems rather optimistic....

  • But if you are looking for a violent street fight where people beating/bashing up each other to a bloody pulp, then I think you have to go to Brazil?!? In Australia it would not be tolerated. All you need is 1 person to sue your group/mestre and the business is finished!

The intention here is to drop the opponent on the ground with skill. Of course once in a while people get hurt. But the intention is not to bash them up.

  • rehearsed ? would mean a pre determened outcome I think you are confusing this with boxing

  • if you can't see that from :25 - 1:32 there is no fighting going on, then good luck dancing your way out of being robbed and attacked in a real situation. I have lots of respect and admiration for the discipline and strength but i would just like to see this applied more than this way

  • you are absolutly correct. please put on a video of yourself being robbed and attacked for real so that I may learn and lead a safer life

  • i will show you a video of me shooting 6 .38 caliber rounds from my revolver into the belly of my attacker, while you continue to dance around and entertain your attackers. HA HA HA!!!

  • I would prefer to dance and entertain than shoot people. Maby I am just weird that way

  • lol ya because because im pretty sure the attacker would be like this guys to cool to rob

  • by the way a belly shot from a pistol is not garenteed to stop or even kill an attacker I would recomend shooting centre of seen mass or the chest. of course I live in far north queensland and everybody here owns a shotgun so a revolver is not as big a deal as it should be

  • Sad to hear you live in a place where you have to carry a weapon to defend yourself.

scary to think that you need more than one round to stop your attacker. good luck with that if that ever happens to you.

  • yeah, i live in a - place - called earth. you will need to get attacked, robbed, beaten and threatened to be shot at by a criminal before you will understand the importance of a owning a weapon. criminals don't care about you. dead men tell no tales.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. Absolutely fantastic. Axe! Xavante

  • Thanks! which part of Australia are you from? and which group?

  • In Sydney at the moment. Use to train under Luiz 2001-2005 (there abouts).

Unfortunately not training in Sydney as work gets in the way :-(

    Xavante

  • axé

  • Good luck in your capoeira career =)

  • Hey whats the difference of Zambiacongo and cordao de ouro capoeira?

  • they are just different groups under different mestres. Zambiacongo is under Grand Mestre Geni and Mestre Luizinho.

Cordao de ouro is under Grand Mestre Suassuna.

Although I realise thay the styles are a bit diff cos the CDO guys do a lot of acrobatics. Not good or bad. Just different/unique.

  • Oh... Thanks for that Oh and 2more things if you will. What is he difference of contra mestre and mestre and what does Axe mean? Im planing to join CDO this summer thats why

  • Contra-mestre is assistant mestre. Not yet a mestre. It is usually the level after Professor (teacher).

Axe...hmmm...hard to explain. its kinda like "energy" or "life" to the Brazilians. When you say "Axe" to someone, you are essentially wishing someone well. But maybe ask a capoeira teacher for a better definition.

CDO is pretty good I think. Their guys are really agile and creative in their movements.

  • great video!

  • I love it.

  • axé.....

  • Good roda! Axe!

  • Very nice!

  • Crazyyyyyy!!!!!

That's Zambiacongo for you, nuff' said.

    Axe Capoeira!
