Actually, I only know him professionally, as a guitar maker, but he has been great to work with.

Yeah, you are right. The builder is incredible. Before I bought anything from him, I asked if I could try one of his guitars on my amps and pedals. He actually came to my house with two guitars, which I A/B'd with my Les Paul. Needless to say, I now own two guitars he built for me.
