  • The tablet is heavy due to having internal inductive charging coils or "TouchStone" technology. You must sign up for a webOS account because this OS is backed up to a cloud server, along with all your current Synergy accounts. Your webOS profile can then be shared with other webOS devices via cloud syncing. There are about 6,000 apps, 680 tablet optimized apps and additional apps though preware and the Homebrew Community.

  • install android on it, it takes 5 min...

  • Does it have a pen interface ?

  • If you're paying for this device up to $250, it's a steal... It's a VERY HIGH QUALITY product to be honest... You won't realize until you start to use it... Go ahead if you want and spend $699 on your iPad... but, you won't be sorry w/ this one... Kindle works great... Browser's fast... and to be honest, even w/ iPad w/ all of its apps, you can't use them all anyways... and TouchPad have more than enough that'll satisfy your daily needs...

  • @TheEsotericDesi It's HP, so I disagree about the quality, have you heard of the speaker crack?

  • 7:26 "It's HP so you know there going to throw a lot of money behind this to make it better and better with every iteration"........NOT.

  • @ Cigarmonk, no, you dont need to have an account for iPad. Yes, it must be connected to an iTunes account to "activate' but you dont need to be logged in. The HP Touchpad doesn't let you do anything until you give out personal information.

    Marc

  • Good video. but FYI you also have to sign into itunes in order for the ipad to even work. not sure thats a con of the touchpad.

  • sorry dude but you sound like a apple fanboy

  • Nobody gives a crap about Itunes... no way in hell I'm running an Apple OS. As a former Apple shareware developer that got burned by Apple over and over and over again, Apple is garbage. I can't even stand their OS now, its usuable. They really screwed us all over by dumping 68K, to PowerPC, to intel... and dumping their OS... for of all god aweful hafebaked OSes... linux. Anyone who's worked with linux for a long time like I have know its a steaming pile of slapped together shit.

  • @cobrachoppergirl There's not a line of Linux code in OSX, so quit yapping like a know-it-all.

  • Can't play Battlefield 2142... or any other PC software.... don't want it... FAIL

  • @cobrachoppergirl You idiot, it's a mobile tablet.

  • @cobrachoppergirl You're an idiot....

  • spread the word HP touch pad is now 99$..............no camera havin app havin future havin pice of crap.

  • The HP money train behind it just stopped. Hope someone ports Android to this.

  • You sure called it right on this one Pal.

  • Good review!

  • Could you invest in a decent camera to film your reviews? Your reviews are decent but the image quality is crap.

  • @WeightLossTrek you are so right bro

  • Lets be real. Most people would not use a backside camera to take pictures.

Also keep in mind that HP said they are targeting Enterprise companies. There will be apps loaded on these things that will never been seen in the app catalog.

  • Good honest review. This is coming from a Palm Pre user and webOS fan. HP didn't quite deliver with this TP. Hopefully TP2 will blow everything else out of the water.

  • This thing is DOA... it's like they never saw the iPad or iPad2 before releasing this thing... Niche player, then they'll call it quits and either switch to Android or Windows Phone. Why would developers even want to develop apps for this thing?

  • @alphie20 You're from Canada. Your argument is invalid.

  • Too heavy, and no dual camera kinda sucks.
