I'd rather say that Simon ought to improve his service on excellent players though. His return is generally OK using his backhand top spin for a better control. His return was too weak only against Chen Qi even though he should improve it against the best chinese.
@ersguterjunge467 Actually, this footage doesn't show the whole match so you're not aware of that but Simon Gauzy had many issues to handle the service of Chen Qi. Chen Qi is a clever player therefore he was verying the placement and the spin. Simon never got used to it and had to take risks to return so he was a bit puzzled. And when you're not at ease while returning a service, you don't start the point on a good basis, your timing is off and you're passive.Consequently, he has to upgrade it.
@rosun82 Did I say otherwise? If you read my answer to ersgunterjunge467, you'll see that I highlight how the return of Chen Qi's services gave Gauzy much trouble. I just added that although he was utterly overwhelmed by Chen Qi's services, he is generally able to handle opponent's service efficiently so he should also focus on finding a much more efficient service (since the best players don't have any problem to return his services). I hope I was clear.

I've been waiting a long time to see Chen Qi play.
His forehand loops and pivots are some of the most fluid I've seen.
I hope he's improved his consistency enough so that we get to see more of his matches!

Gauzy was not well concentrated like in the games before. I think he got tired while the tournament.

Simon needs to improve his serve return. Then he'll give the Chinese
a great challenge along with the other French players. He had a great tournament though.
