@SUBWAY125 I know, but they're the closest thing to the original Comet IIs. Both have thin black bands stretching from one door to the other (with the disco stripes pointing to each door). They remind me of the Comet IIs I used to see. Comet IIMs of today have a thicker black band stretching from one door to the other and the disco stripes are embedded within them. Damn NJ Transit! Why couldn't they leave the old trains alone?!
It was nearly equal between the Is and IIs (155 v 166). The Comet Is only ran on the Hoboken Division because most were still low-doors. The high-door rebuilds don't have traps for the low-level platforms.
What street crossing are you nearest to?

In my vid called "The Streets" I managed to film a train in Garfield, NJ...thought you might want to check it out. Take care.

what ever happened to comet IAs
sarginto3 3 years ago
They were stored for a while in Port Jervus and later towed to the MMC for scrapping.
I'd rather not discuss what happened to them in Port Jervis, but for the most part it involved vandalism.

does this involve Metro North's comet IIAs and comet IIBs
